Once I started weighing my food I realized I had been eating more than I thought; what I had believed was 6 ounces turned out to be much higher. So I weigh consistently now to be sure and have had better weight loss results.

I've been using 400 to 500 depending on the intensity, based on info I found on various websites. However, someone in class tonight had a monitor on that showed she'd burned 800! If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to know.

I agree with the last post; you cannot think of this a diet. Once you recognize that eating healthier and exercising is a life time change, it gets much easier to stick to it.
