  • I just base it on the raw ingredients. I assume the calories in a banana don't include the skin.....and even if it was found to be a miracle aid to dieting I probably still wouldn't eat it. lol I suppose peeling other fruit such as apples could reduce the calories.
  • Here's a simple one .....a medium banana, semi-skimmed milk, teaspoon of honey (more if you like it sweeter) and a strawberry fat free bio yogurt drink (I'm in the UK and use Actimel, I don't know what the US equivament would be).
  • You are quite right that it's about making time. My husband does his fair share and the kids do look after themselves a lot.....apart from needing a taxi service!! I already get up at 5.50am so any earlier really isn't an attractive option. The kids have a Wii they never use and I did think about Wii fit but there is…
  • It's just the way it goes sometimes. There are always going to be weeks when the best laid plans have to be put to one side. Don't overdo it trying to catch up though.....moderation is always the most sensible approach.
  • Hi all. I am Gail from Warwickshire. My start weight was 189lbs and my goal is 147. I have managed to lose 6 so far. This week I am going to give up weighing myself every day. I have always done that as it helps me focus but want to see if I can do this with a weekly weigh in. I am going to try a step class at the gym. I…
  • Yes I know that 'arms too tight' feeling!!!
  • Thanks, I need all the help I can get. I exercise when I can but I have a full time job with an hour's drive each way and other commitments so I have forgotten the meaning of the words 'free time'.
  • It really does get more difficult as you get older.....particularly for women. I am 51 and I lost 5lbs in the first two weeks but nothing since. I don't cheat, I log everything, I exercise and eat back most of those calories and I don't have a TOTM to blame! It really is hard staying motivated.
  • Wine mostly.....I was having about 7 or 8 glasses a week and now I'm down to 2. I drinl fizzy water out of a wine glass instead.
  • 30DS is some sort of exercise program....from the US I think. NSV is non scale victory.....something you achieve that doesn't specifically involve weight e.g. getting into your old smaller jeans.
  • Yes I use one at the gym and it's good. I have knee problems from a car crash and the recumbemt bike is fine.
  • I'd like to give it a go. I haven't been in a group before so am not sure how they work.
  • Sorry, no idea.....I haven't even worked out how to do it on here!! OK so now I have!!!
  • Whatever works for you. I weigh every day at the same time and it does go up and down with water retention etc. As long as it is going down from one week to the next then I know its working.
  • I've noticed the same and as long as all the rest of the measures are around the target I don't worry too much about it.
  • Hi.....I saw something about it on breakfast TV. How much of the problem is that people don't know how to shop for and cook fresh food? So many seem to go for ready meals or processed foods. If parents do that, then how are their kids going to learn healhty habits? My mum taught me how to cook and I'm trying to pass it on…
  • It's not easy losing weight at our age....I'm 51. I want to lose about 40 pounds but anything more than 30 will make me very happy. I have jeans in several sizes and none of them fit!!!
  • I agree with everyone who says always weigh yourself in the morning. Be careful about moving the scales around, mine are good digital ones but can give readings varying by a couple of pounds depending on where I put them. Work out what's best for you in terms of how often. Daily works for me and I accept that it fluctuates…
  • Hi. I'm glad to see there's someone else from this part of the world. Good luck.
