  • As a polyglot I am very proud to be a grammar and a spelling nerd.....but we also have to recognise that language evolves over time. Today's mistakes and faux pas become the norms of tomorrow......twas ever thus!
  • Sorry I can't help with your question but welcome anyway!

  • It's great fun if you do your research and find a place you feel comfortable. I did one two years ago (before I put on all the weight).....I'm almost back to looking like I do in the pics!
  • Stupid question time.....what is an interval timer?
  • I agree 100% with this. My youngest son 'pinched' a baby doll from a friend's daughter when he was about 18 months old. It became his baby. We gave hima pushchair and a blanket and for a couple of years the baby went everywhere with him. Some friends and family thought it was weird but we didn't care...he was happy. he's…
  • Hi all. I'm Gail, 52 living in Warwickshire, UK but from Manchester originally. I have never labelled myself a feminist as such, mainly because I have rarely feel the need to. I was brought up with my sister to get involved with whatever needed doing. I helped my dad service and repair his cars and my mum cook. I went to a…
  • A thriller by Greg Iles....don't know what it's called in English because I'm reading the German translation. I just love my iPad Kindle app.
  • Female GP told me not to worry about gaining weight at my age (I was 50) because it was hormone related and there was nothing I could do about it....stupid, stupid woman!!!
  • I thought I'd had some bruises in my time but nothing to rival that!!!! Ouch!
  • I don't know as I only get the night sweats.....I'd be happy to swap a few of those to find out though.....I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep :-(
  • Look for Shock Absorber.....I have one and it's fine...I'm in the UK but I just Googled it and they are available in the US.
  • When you find a pool, check to see if they do water aerobics classes. They are great fun and you can do all sorts of exercises you wouldn't manage out of the water.
  • I swim in a 20m pool and just keep going.....I use a waterproof MP3 player to stave off the boredom....I can do 80 lengths (1 mile) in about 55 minutes. I don't think the length of the pool should make any difference to the total distance you swim.
  • I agree with those above who suggest swimming....and yes I know most people can't do that at home. I also do water aerobics. I only have a half a right kneecap after a car accident more than 20 years ago and it is just too painful to do any weight bearing exercises that involve flexing my knee. I do cycle and use the cross…
  • I'm with you there......ticking off the weeks to July for the full 12 months. I'm still not sleeping any better though.....night sweats are a real pain.....I long for a complete night's sleep.....just one I'm not greedy!! I don't have any fog or memory problems....well none that I can remember. lol
  • I have set mine manually to 1300 which should have me lose 0.75lbs a week. I was on 1200 and did very well, losing over 30lbs from August to March. I had noticed the weight loss slowing down and did struggle to keep to the 1200 as I only exercise a couple of times a week. I always eat back my exercise calories.....I use…
  • I have taken Solgar multi-vitamins and minerals for 13 years. They were recommended by a pharmacist friend and since taking them I have definitely had fewer colds and minor ailments. I wouldn't swear to it being the vitamins but I'm not going to stop taking them to find out. The only downside is that they are not cheap and…
  • I read a few reviews about the headphones not fitting but they were mostly from men.....maybe women's ears are smaller because mine fit just fine!
  • I'm with you on this one. The only problem I have is lack of sleep due to night sweats and I will not take HRT. I have heard women say how embarrassing the hot flushes can be during the day but I'd gladly put up with that in exchange for just one decent night's sleep!!
  • I have an iPhone and did think about a waterproof cover but decided I just didn't want to take the risk. I bought a Speedo Aquabeat MP3 player instead and love it.
  • Hold your hand out for a slap too......SLAP! Now pull yourself together and get on with it!!!
  • ^^^ Tesco definitely do a half fat mozzarella....it's not much good for cooking as it doesn't melt well but I use it in salads for lunch.
  • UK (home) France Germany Italy Spain Portugal Greece Austria Switzerland Luxembourg Andorra USA Tunisia Morocco Barbados St Lucia Maldives Singapore Belgium Holland I think that's all of them but I may have missed one or two!
  • I agree with the others on the music....I didn't trust a cover for my ipod so bought a waterproof mp3 player. It's great and a lot more fun than counting laps.
  • Of course....if it has calories I log it. If you eat several pieces of fruit a day it soon adds up.
  • Like the others have said it is possible if you're careful what you choose and watch the calories. If you're having a meal and want wine. try alternating with water. I drink sparkling water out of a wine glass, that way it feels 'right' in my hand.
  • Try to get to a swimming pool.....you don't actually have to swim. I see plenty of people who just walk up and down. I do aquafit and the instructor says that you get 7 times the resistance from water than you do in the air.
