Hey! Thirty nine pounds down is good! You're making progress, and like you said, getting closer to your goal weight. This is a new year and a new opportunity to blow that weight off and get fit!

Me: "Bang - bang - bang!" Warden inspecting the call-in for a dead bear: "Nice grouping!" Me: "Thanks! Can I keep the meat and pelt if I give you the skull?" LOL.

LASIK was the best decision I made all year. I've had several friends who had it too; all loved it. I was at high astigmatism and very nearsighted, but now I can see better than 20/15. Don't let your fears rule you; if you research a good doctor with the latest equipment you won't be disappointed. It's so much easier to…

You are an inspiration! Thank you for this well-written post! Best wishes for an even better 2013!

I'd love that information! I read that shorter people need less calories, but I'm also reading about eating more to weigh less. And then there are the people who say that you have to have a calorie deficit to lose, and I'm confused. Right now I'm doing the 30 Day shred with the heaviest weights I can use. Gotta build that…

If someone has an affair people always seem to blame the other partner for "causing" the other person to have an affair. Yet my opinion is that people are responsible for their OWN actions, not other people's actions. We do realize that our actions can contribute to what another does in their life, however, and we should…

From Captain_Apoll LOL! I needed that laugh! I eat the seeds. In grapes, apples, oranges, watermelons, etc. Seeds rule.

First I want to say how wonderful it is to have people from all over the world on MFP and in our group! I love that! My mini goal is a 10 lb. weight loss. I have been stalled the last few months and started to put on weight when I started strength training; guess I need more of a calorie deficit! I've lived all over the…

There are so many ways to share what you have learned, but sometimes people will take it as being 'preachy'. The one way I have found to share things is to simply tell them about the changes I've noticed. An example could be come thing as simple as IBS in women. For example, if a friend had IBS and acid reflux, and I used…

Well you look like you have some oriental blood in you, and they're 'normally' very slim people. I think it has to do with how much of your body is muscle vs. flab, and then also how much fat you are holding in your body. It's hard to gage with just a face picture, but if you post a picture in a bathing suit I'm sure…

Don't give up on your marriage! This could be a good thing ~ now there's a rather minor crisis and you can both get through it and get stronger. Once people settle into marriage they do tend to forget who they are as individuals, especially once kids come around. You can both work on yourselves and continue to grow closer…

This is my favorite song, regarding what you said. So very true!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn23QUAVEYw

Great job! I can appreciate that with a large family it's a logistical challenge to find time to take care of yourself! You've done fabulous!

That's a great idea! Have you seen icebiking? www.icebike.org If you do want to venture out in the snow! :D

Here are the fuel targets I'm trying to hit, since that seems like a better indicator than listing my measurements, ; ) Calories:1,163 Carbs:58 Fat:39 Protein:145 I am doing a modified Paleo diet and my goal is to stay below 40 carbs/day. I am giving myself unlimited protein. My fitness goals are to lose fat and build LBM,…
-
The best advice I've ever read about setting your targets is here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets. That being said, I set mine at 50% of my calories from protein, 30% fat and 20% carbs, only because I tend to not lose wait if I eat more than 40 grams of carbs a day.

WOW !!! You totally rock! I put in my current weight/goal, but if it changes by Jan 6th I'll update.

It never even occurred to me that bacon had sugar in it! Argh! I think the hardest thing in the past has been not having milk with my coffee, but now that I'm doing a variation of the bulletproof coffee it's not so bad!

I'll get hate mail for this suggestion, but have you considered changing the way you run? Start slow, of course... but I've had a lot of good results from 'barefoot' style running. There are different types of shoes they recommend that will change the way you stride, plus you shorten your stride and land on the balls of…

It sounds good. Start a group and post the link here; I'll join in.

You're doing great! It's a good idea to stay focused so you don't backslide. Good luck with your next goal!

Yep! That's the one! He's 1/3 of the way there, snow and all. I'm using STRAVA to record my mtb rides and my running so that it's trackable. I'll be sending in mine here too, though I'm sure the first few months of my rides will be pitiful. I've a dirt road to ride on, full of sandy mud and snow. But I'm looking up to the…

Motivation is tough! I find that I can do a 20 minute video like Julia Michael's 30 day shred with the kids around, and that helps. But if you have a phone or alarm maybe you can set an alarm for 'workout time' and then do something, even if it's dancing to music on your MP3 player while the kids watch Blue's Clues. Good…

Exactly. She was asked to wear less provocative clothing. She didn't, that's a fact that both sides agreed on. *shrugs* The dentist showed restraint and self control in that he chose to fire his assistant rather than attempt to get in her pants. I commend the man. He understood what his weakness is and avoided it, just…

I hope this works for you. I put square brackets and img in front of the address, and brackets /img brackets behind it.
-
Actually, if you read the story carefully you'll see that the dentist asked his assistant not to wear such revealing clothing and she wouldn't dress in a less provocative manner. So yeah. Fire the assistant, save your marriage. It's as easy as that. If the woman had any common sense she could have dressed more…

You've done great! I'm very, very proud of you. You're an inspiration! Keep it up! If you can do this, you can do anything!

I think that your goal to be a strong lung donor for your daughter one day is great! It made me tear up. Wonderful work! You've done well!

I'm doing it for the first time. I'd think that you could increase your hand weights and go through it again. I'm using a combination of weights (3,5,and 10) depending on the exercise. The cool part is, 10 days in and I can almost do a real pushup! Ha. Or try one of her other videos if you want more variety. Anything you…
