I tend to lift my legs higher and take smaller steps in the snow, and I just wear waterproof snow boots with warm socks. Your thighs will get a better workout! I also find that I need to keep my throat and hands warm in cooler weather or I'll get sick. Best wishes!

I'm doing three days on, one day 'off' and other cardio or strength on the off day, because my knees hurt from the lunges and squats. And I take a lot of glucosamine too, so I think it's just that I'm old and fat, lol! I'll let you know how I've done in late January.

Salkeela, As far as kefir grains go, they really need animal milk to work well.; If you can get hold of raw, grass fed diary milk to make it with I'd suggest that, but if not, you may add some organic butter from grass fed cows to your kafir milk mix and see how that works. Good luck!

If you want to eat 1300 calories a day, just up your exercise. You can eat the calories you burn doing exercise and loose weight. The 'trick' is to find a way to be healthy that you can do your whole life.
