Thank you! I do get one free session at my gym. I have another question. I really need to lose weight. The calories suggested in the book are pretty high. Should I lower it for more of a deficit if I want to lose?

Hi All! I started the program on Saturday, so I did my NROLFW Stage 1, Workout B today. I felt better about it than the first workout. I'm really enjoying it. I watched some videos on bodybuilding.com to try and make sure my form was right on all of them. I'm still learning about using machines. I haven't touched a squat…

I just started the New Rules of Lifting for Women plan which is starting off great for me, but if you really have no experience with weights I do think Bodypump classes or a few sessions with a trainer are a good idea.

Thank you!

Hi! I've done strength training at that weight and it helped! You may have to do some modifications or body weight only at first, but that's typical for anyone. I like the Jillian Michaels beginner shred video. Now, I'm using the new rules of lifting for women.

Stop trying to fake the carbs- all of the ketofied breads/pizza/sweets/etc. Just focus on eating your regular foods that are naturally keto- meat, cheese, green veggies, etc. You do NOT have to try the cool kid keto stuff either. I've never made bullet proof coffee or a fat bomb. Don't tell people. Just live your life and…

That's around my ultimate goal. I have the same history of losing 60. I gained most of it back but am on the downhill again.

omelet- 3 eggs, cheddar, spinach with a tbsp of sour cream. Coffee with a splash of almond milk and sugar free caramel syrup.

Thanks. I know what Keto is. Does it really matter what I call the way I eat? I'm not in opposition to Keto. I just don't freak out if I have 30g of carbs in a day if I have more veggies. I lean more towards the Keto end of the low carb spectrum. My point is that very low carb works for me.

While I can't get with the oil in my coffee, coconut oil is magical.

Don't just read up on Keto, also read up on your health issues. I also have PCOS and have done a lot to figure out what works best for me. I'm not always able to totally isolate the best factor, but I do know that I lose weight at a consistent pace when low carb/low sugar. I avoid processed foods. I exercise. I'm hesitant…

I started Keto again! I've been inconsistent, but I'm about 30 lbs below my heaviest weight. I also deal with PCOS. I'd love to add friends.

Great job! it's always nice to see how much happier people look in the after photo.

Amazing work! Looking forward to seeing you reach your goal weight!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! You're doing so well! I'm about to do my Day 16 workout. I had a skip day yesterday and only did yoga, so I hope it doesn't feel harder for me.

Not my smartest move, but I only recorded my waist. I It's about 1.5 inches down. I measured my bust after about a week and it's down about an inch. Seeing these pictures shows me I NEED to be measuring! Change is happening!

I have to say... I honestly wasn't anticipating seeing a difference (hence the crazy look on my face). I've only lost 3 lbs. Take pictures, ladies! This is really motivating me to finish the Shred. I can tell my tummy is a little smaller and my booty is lifted. And in only 2 weeks!

That Health Bent site has some good stuff!

I switched to contacts as I got involved in more outdoor activities. Have you tried wearing snug swim goggles over contacts? If you do this, I would suggest daily use contacts. You don't want to recycle contacts with pool/public water contamination.

I am not married, and I would never suggest to you to leave or stay. The 3rd DWI really jumped out at me. Honestly, any adult with 3 DWIs obviously has some issues they need to work out whether they are in a relationship or not. I don't know if any substance/alcohol abuse classes were suggested to your husband by the court…

tracym22- I actually appreciate the 2nd opinion supporting it. :)

Eeek! This is what I get for skimming threads! I'll leave the comments there in case someone else is interested. For more weights, I recommend No More Trouble Zones by Jillian. It's more strength training. I've actually tried that one. It's about a 45 minute DVD, but broken into sections where you can pick and choose…

And I just found the entire workout on Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTT4W8ygJ7w

I haven't tried it myself, but I think her Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism DVD is supposed to be more cardio focused. I found this in an Amazon review: "Here's the skinny: 7 six minute circuits, no weights, no equipment. Just you and some free space to jump around (you don't even need that much space; trust me, I live in a…

Woop-woop! I'm loving seeing these amazing progress pics. I've decided to take pics at Day 15.

I'm experiencing a gain... I was up a few pounds and now it's down to like 1.5. I'm trying to stick with it anyway since I know the shred gets results.

I just did my first Level 2 workout. My arms are on fire, but I will say it wasn't as horrible as I expected from all of the "I hate level 2" comments I see in a lot of threads. I did have to stop and take a lot of breaks, but I expect that to get better in a few days just like with Level 1. In the end, my arms were so on…

I can see differences in all of the pics! I'll add mine in a couple of days.

Today will be my last day of Level 1. From the comments, I'm not really looking forward to level 2. Level 1 has gotten lot easier, and I plan to continue. Now that I'm back in the exercise groove, I need to focus on eating better.
