  • I've heard good things about zigzagging calories breaking a plateau. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/AggieCass09/view/my-positive-experience-with-calorie-zig-zagging-98777 http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/AggieCass09/view/how-to-calculate-your-zig-zag-calories-102351…
  • I agree with the not weighing every day. This might help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/scschenk/view/omg-how-did-i-gain-5-2-lbs-in-6-hours-156596 P.S. Maybe you need to poop.
  • Jump roping, perhaps? As in try logging in 120 minutes of jump roping! I think that would make more sense over dancing.
  • An apple or nuts really seems to do the trick for me. Not really free, but they aren't unhealthy snacks. If you're hungry, EAT. Listen to your body is my motto. I only tell mine to shut up when it tells me it needs pizza.
  • WOW! So I started with this thought, "She looks like me!" And I ended with this thought, "I am going to look like her!" What an inspiration! WONDERFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL work! Congratulations!
  • I have to agree with what others are saying-- this article would benefit from some citation of sources. That is, if it wants to be taken seriously.
  • Thank you for this article, it was an interesting read. I think, like with any weight loss journey, it is a personal decision. Weight Watchers didn't work for me, but I know a lot of people who it did work for (as far as loosing the weight, but I have my own opinions on whether or not it really helps you maintain a healthy…
  • I stay away from Hungry Girl for this reason. I do not think it is healthy to be eating tons of processed foods. A lot of recipes incorporate fat free items, which are pretty nefarious for many reasons. It's definitely a personal choice though, and I have seen some that aren't so bad. For instance, her pumpkin pie recipe.
  • I don't have children-- I have a dog. BUT, I do have 4 brothers and I am going to agree with the line of thought that they are just way too consumed with playing and having fun to be concerned about ****ty pants. As far as the pee thing goes, my mom put a bowl of Cheerios next to the toilet and would drop a few of them in…
  • Pizza! I used to be fabulously addicted to Lean Cuisine pizzas. By used to, I mean less than a week ago! I was just put on my gluten free diet again on Saturday. So I've since had to give them up and it's a huge/sad transition. I am lucky that there is a local restaurant that has wonderful gluten free pizza-- I suppose…
  • Not in the least. We have pizza Friday's, which is when everyone orders their OWN pizza. On top of it my boss has a drawer full of candy and snacks that she is always offering me. It breaks my heart to turn down a perfectly delicious Twizzler every day! You gotta do, whatcha gotta do!
  • Was gluten free for about 7 months, went off it because I am stupid, and now I am back on the horse after my most recent doc. appointment this past Friday. IT HELPS. Most people just take in TOO MUCH wheat. If you aren't a celiac or have a gluten intolerance, you could always try reducing your intake to 2-3 times a week,…
  • I'm on the wait list to adopt a pug from the Ohio Pug Rescue! I can't wait! They are wonderful! I'm so excited!
  • Good work on adopting, it's definitely the way to go. I have a Husky mix. She is on premium holistic food (Earthborn) and we spend about $60 on a bag and it lasts for a month and a half to two months. The good part about premium food, is that you can actually feed your dog less because there is more protein and they use…
  • Mmmm, my mom makes this. I might have to whip up some! It's sooo good!
  • Back when I could eat crackers, I liked 5-6 Ritz with some peanut butter on top. It was perfect!
  • Weighing in is a personal choice I think. I will get on the scale 2-3 times a week, but I will only record my weight on Saturday's. As far as the calorie convo goes-- I agree with it being a personal decision. Here is the fact though: if you burn more calories than you consume, you will loose weight. I tend to eat a small…
  • Tell her to go look around www.foodgawker.com If she types in 'dairy free' in the search, it will pull up all the recipes that are dairy free. As far as nuts, she will just have to do some searching through the dairy free recipes, but this site has a lot of great recipes! Good luck to you both!
  • Whoops, didn't read you wanted specific songs! The White Stripes-- Seven Nation Army Amy Winehouse-- Rehab, You Know I'm No Good Florence and the Machine-- Dog Days Are Over, Kiss With A Fist Wolfmother-- Dimension, White Unicorn Gorillaz-- Rhinestone Eyez
  • Okay, I'm about to bust out my multiple personalities. The White Stripes Amy Winehouse Florence and the Machine Wolfmother Gorillaz
  • I use it in place of mayo on a sandwich. First, I sprinkle it with garlic powder. Then I put it in a wrap with tomato, lettuce, bacon (optional, but tasty), and deli turkey. Yum :)
  • Fiber helps keep you regular. It is helpful for people who intake a lot of protein (dieters tend to do this) to intake protein because protein can actually stop you up. Also, fiber keeps you satisfied longer!
  • Pro: Cereal is fortified with tons of vitamins. Con: Cereal can have a lot of sugar, and in general, grains don't keep you feeling satisfied very long. Listen to your body. If cereal keeps you satisfied until your snack or lunch, why not?! I would def. say be mindful of the added sugars. But it's quick, it's easy, and it's…
  • Thanks guys, this helps a lot!
  • Wonderful! Thanks for sharing! My husband loves the Cheesecake Factory, but it's kind of been off limits for awhile now. I think he'll be excited to finally get back!
  • Have you been diagnosed with PCOS, or is it just a hunch? PCOS/Diabetes/Thyroid Disease is all interconnected with the endocrine system. Since you have the elevated glucose levels and think/know you have PCOS, it is a really good idea to go see an endocrinologist. So your doctor is doing the right thing by referring you to…
  • Ohio has it on their license. I'm a whole 50 pounds less than what I was when I got it! I suppose that's something to be happy about!
  • I asked my husband which Little Miss I was, and he picked this one instantly. I think it has something to do with me starting at least 4 conversations a day with, "I'm curious, what do you think about __" or "I'm curious as to why...." I also have a general fascination with things I don't know, and look things up…
  • Oats are (technically) gluten free. However, since there can be cross contaminated she should purchase Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Oats to be on the safe side. There are also a lot of GF cereals out there. Chex, Envirokids, Puffins, etc. She could also make her own granola using Bob's GF Oats. Mix that up with some greek…
