Thank you all! This should get me started. I appreciate the ideas!

Absolutely! I have been at this for 125 days today and have found FAR more success when I haven't let my net calories drop too low. In fact, I have seen few people lose long term without stalling when working with a net of 1200. What I see happen time and again is that people immediately cut back their calories farther…

So proud of you! You are doing AMAZINGLY well! Keep up the strong work!

That's awesome friend! I hope you did a victory dance at the car!

Blackeyed peas for luck. Cabbage for money. Ham for living "high on the hog." Cornbread because it's Texas and you can't have the above without it! This year I will still have my traditional meal but I will control my portions and balance it wiith exercise and my other meals for the day. ;-)

I'm in! Name: Chris high weight: 230ish MFP start: 215.8 Current weight: 206.1 90 day goals: 185 and continue to exercise daily. I've made it 30 days with daily exercise and it has been a huge part of my success, so I'm ready to go for 90 more! Thanks for the challenge!

You are likely not eating enough. Eat the amount MFP recommends including about half of your exercise calories and you will lose without suffering through so much hunger and without dropping your metabolism. I have fallen off the wagon more times than I can count. I thought it was because I was eating too much. On the…

Magic pop! It is like a freshly made rice cake... only way better. Generally they are sold at healthfood type grocery stores and are made in store. Hate regular rice cakes but love these.

Track everything and be careful that you don't undereat. I know that has been my problem in many of my past attempts at losing weight. When you cut your calories too far you slow down your metabolism and you also burn out from being hungry. I restarted 30 days ago with an entirely new approach and it is working amazingly…

I bore easily with exercise too if I do the same thing all the time. I restarted 30 days ago today and committed to being active every day. I've found tracking everything in MFP and seeing how much more food I can eat and still lose steadily is a huge motivator for me. In 30 days, I've dropped 9.7 lbs and burned 15,071…

I weigh pretty much everything. I have found it really helps keep me on track. Because eating healthier is a family endeavor for us, I have found my husband and kids are much more capable of helping serve meals with the scale. I can say "Everyone gets 1 ounce of chips" and my 11 yo son can weigh out the chips while I am…

I've logged every bite and exercised every single day for 26 days in a row. I was wearing a very tight size 16 pants when I started, but today I slipped comfortably into a size 14 that I haven't been able to wear in over 2 years! So very proud of myself! :glasses:

I am not good about a tight budget these days, but have had many times in my life that I have been on one. Here are some of my budget stretching go-to's: Taco salad- I often skip the chips to save the calories and the money. I buy the 3 pack of romaine lettuce which will get you a lot of healthy salad greens for not a lot…

With my lifestyle, giving fast food up altogether isn't very realistic, so I shoot for staying under 600 calories and trying to get as close to balanced meal as I can. I believe with moderation and planning fast food can be fit in to a healthy meal plan. Having a plan before I walk in the door helps considerably in…

Wow! Great job! You look fantastic!

Holy smokes! You look AMAZING! You not only took pounds off, you really turned back the clock. You look sooo much younger! FANTASTIC JOB!

Everyone is different, but I exercise EVERY day because it works for me. I like to eat more food than my calorie budget would allow if I did not. Initially I felt hungrier and got the munchies every time I had a hard workout because I was not eating enough throughout the day before I worked out. Now, I know in advance…

Congratulations! What an inspiration! Keep up the amazing work!

Absolutely! It makes all the difference for me. He understands that it is extremely important to me that I am active every single day right now. Some days he joins me. On the days he can't or chooses not to, he always volunteers to help out around the house so I can clear enough time in my schedule to go. His support is a…

In the past I've tried 1200 and I always seem to fail because i feel like I want more food and I have no energy to exercise. I last a couple of weeks and I fall off the wagon every time. It just doesn't work for me to cut calories that much. Now my goal is set for 1350 but I find even that to not be enough for me most…

I have two reasons: 1) I want to eat more than my goal affords me yet I refuse to have a day where I go over my net goal. My goal is 1350 calories and I have found I am content and never feel excessively hungry at around 1500 calories. I am in this for the long haul, so eating 1500 calories a day also gives me a little…

You look absolutely AMAZING! You have literally turned back the clock. Thank you for sharing your story!

Vitamin C is water soluble so what your body can't use simply flushes right on through. Vitamin A on the other hand is fat soluble meaning it stores in fat cells. It can build up and become potentially dangerous but in much higher amounts than you are talking about. Typically it is a problem only when you are getting in…

I know it feels like sabotage, but odds are it was oblivion rather than outright sabotage. :-) I have done really well despite being surrounded by food this week. Everytime I am tempted, I pull out my handy dandy phone app and look it up. I then decide if I want to "buy" the treat by "earning" more calories through…

For the best accuracy, it is best to weigh at the same time of day in the same type of clothing (or none at all).... otherwise you are just weighing the food in your belly and the clothes on your back. Your graph accounts for the time between weights so you will still get an accurate picture over time so you you can see…

It seems like you may be double dipping on your calorie count. By counting your job as "active," you are already getting "credit" for heavy activity. I suspect it is going to be misleading on your counts to then count 7 hours walking again. I would try leaving the setting at active and only counting additional activity…
