Good job, keep up the hard work. I've found that sugar will put me in a coma really fast

PascMS and Karlottap, I'm in Ocean Springs

I'd go with what your surgeon and support staff have set up for you. I would not deviate from their plan

Like the others the VSG is less complicated and fewer side effects
-
I've found that since my VSG that too much sugar puts me to sleep.

After my VSG in March I've found that my chronic back pain that has plagued me for years is greatly reduced as well as just general joint pain I've also had. Have stopped taking my Celebrex and other pain meds. It's wise to get all of your doctors in on the decision. Good luck

Fantastic job!!!!!

I had my first quest pumpkin bar today, not bad

I only told a few family and close friends about my surgery because of some snarky comments. When I hit 100 pounds lost a couple of weeks ago I wrote publicly about the journey I'm on. Nothing but positive support. Good job and you can add me to your friends list.

I'm right at 7 months out and I have the growling. I'm part of a team (actually I host the darn thing) that produces a weekly TV gardening show and when I'm in the studio recording audio my stomach noise will halt the process because the microphones pick it up, and we all burst into laughter.

I'm with Pat. Turn this into a positive and reinforce the habits that will help you be successful.

I've slowed down significantly in the weight loss department as my activity has increased, but I'm still punching new holes in my belt to keep my pants up

I ate the pureed baby food in the pouches (still do). Easy way to get variety, lots of savory choices. I like Earth's Best, Peter Rabbit Organics and Plum

Sounds like a plan to me badhair

Since I can't run due to my total knee replacement I'm going to live vicariously through everyone doing the program. Way to go.

Giving up coffee pre surgery was "painful". I couldn't wait to french press my first cup after. My go-to bean is Death Wish coffee. I haven't seen any detrimental effects yet.

We all have different stories. I went to the hospital at 5am on surgery day, released 1pm the following day. Pack light, I brought my cpap so I could hopefully sleep My surgeon gave me the freedom, within reason and following the no lifting and such restrictions, to resume activities. I felt well enough drove to a meeting…

I've tried a bunch of different protein sources, including making my own protein bars. I've settled on the Quest Nutrition products. I love the protein bars, protein powder and the protein chips. The Quest "pasta" is different but I'm liking it also. I know these are a little pricey, but in the scheme of things including…

Clothes off the sales rack Going from 4XL to XL shirts Extra energy Making new notches in my belts every month (won't buy a new belt, all the extra is constant encouragement to keep it up)

My doc and nut trained us to eat 6 times a day, every 3 hours, protein + good carbs.

I travel A LOT for work and eating in restaurants can be challenging. Ala cart is good, asking for a takeout container to be delivered when served allows me to remove what I'm not going to eat right up front. Making sure your dinner companions know what's going on helps.

Good job

As a former big eater I've really been surprised at the lack of appetite, and I don't miss it. I generally have to make myself eat every three to fours hours. It doesn't take much, anywhere from as little as a 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup total volume (+/-) fills me up. Early on it's easy to over eat, you'll only do that one time.…
