Agree with above. DOn't force down emoty calories just to meet an assigned goal. If on the other hand you are hungry, have something nutritious.

Good luck! Remember to give yourself a little Xmas leeway...

I wear a HRM and use the average HR for the exercise to calculate the calories burned. This should let me keep track of when to increase exercise intensity to get the same burn when I (hopefully) weigh less.

I bought myself some saucony. The shop had filmed me on treadmill etc and gave me a pair to correct over pronation. Running in them messed up my knee and stopped me running for a few months. I just stick to neutral running shoes now, pronation be damned.

In some ways we are quite close culturally, as we get a *kitten* ton of US television over here. As I understand you can see our stuff on BBC America or similar. From what I can tell dating culture is a little different. You would tend to be dating one person at a trime in the UK, but I think until it gets serious you can…

It is indeed OCSWA!

Standard man advice, show up naked, bring beer! Good luck!

What works for me is setting targets and measuring myself against myself. Cardio I am trying to get back to being able to run 5 miles in 50 mins. On Last attempt managed 28 mins at 10 minute mile pace, then had to walk 2 mins at 6.5K then ran 9 mins more then another 2 min walk and finished off the 50 min running. Next…

I'm same as you, tend to weigh myself most days 1st thing in the am, but only log it on Wednesdays.

The Technogym treadmills at the gym aren't too far out from the number I calculate from average HRM, when programmed with my weight. Male 109 KG

weekly along with measurements, but I weigh almost daily.

I've added u. 35 here

One anecdote does not a study make, though I will be interested in how this works for you over multiple runs.
-
I don't eat them religiously, but if i've done 800 calories at the gym (half my daily allowance) I tend to be hungrier, so don't worry about going over my base target by a few hundred.

Theres a gadget you can get with the shuffle that will track your average speed etc. I think it is a Nike thing where you put soemthing in your shoe and plug a jack into the shuffle.
-
The one with the V02 max agrees. The one without goes for 1006 calories! Nice to get a little confirmation that 2 different sites get the same.
-
feel free to add me, and good luck in meeting your goals!
-
I go for both, but if I had to pick one I'd say inches. I don't ultimately care what I weigh, more looks focused.

'better; is subjective, it depends on your goals. Walking on a treadmill will mean you know exactly what speed you are doing, and have to maintain it. When you get tired walking on the street you may slow down a little without realising. If you mean in terms of benefits, I think walking a mile is walking a mile whether on…

I would say eat them if you're hungry, but try and keep them as 'quality' calories, rather than an excuse for a mars bar (or whatever)

How does muscle strength increase without adding mass? Sorry if I'm being thick, but I am trying to get my head around this area.
-
I go to the gym at lunchtimes. Luckily I have some flexibility in my day, so I come in earlier to get an extra 30 mins at lunch. If I wasnt doing this I know I wouldn't exercise as much as I should, because there are too many distractions/excuses in the evenings.
-
I focus more on staying within my calorie allowance than exactly what I am eating. That said I do try to avoid white carbs and to eat more veg and protein.
-
do a search on Couch to 5K (C25K) It sounds like you would be able to jump in on a later week than week 0. That program should get you up to 3 miles (4.8K)
-
Cheers! So you log in strength training to see a good break down of what you did and then just put X minutes of weight training in cardio?
-
I only log it if it involved getting changed and going to the gym, or going for a run, anything else I figure fits in the Sedentary profile. After all even couch potatoes have to make dinner.
-
When you input your current details and specified a target weight loss, the site gives you a daily calorie target. All the calories you eat is your gross calorie intake. However you may have hit the gym and burned 500 calories off. If you are set as sedentary, these calories are not included in your daily goals, so can be…
