Yeah, I'm so glad I can use my crockpot for it--I have no room to add a yogurt maker into the mix in my tiny apartment. :) I don't know what I'd do without a crock pot.

Bump. Want as many people as possible to see this in "Recent Posts"! I thought it was so inspiring. :)

All of the same things! 1. No longer being judged for my food choices at restaurants (the subtle "maybe you should have a salad?"), now even if I get the burger or dessert, no one says anything because of my size/overall healthiness! 2. Seeing my progress in all of my exercise: going from C25K to a half marathon to now…

Often, I just let my mind wander--rehearse conversations I need to have, think about what I need to do, how I'm feeling, etc. I also try and think about how far I've come and how I never thought I'd be here and how much stronger my body is now. That said, I also often look down to my Garmin and think: Omg, how have I not…

I don't know if there's necessarily a perfect strategy. I run 4x per week and also do spinning and yoga. I take at least one full rest day per week. Sofar I seem to be seeing good results! My main advice is to not overdo it and to build up slowly so you don't injure yourself!

Wow. You look awesome! Great work!

I've been mixing chia seeds into my smoothies and my yogurt. This weekend I hope to try to use them in baking as an egg substitute and as an ingredient in homemade protein/fiber bars!
-
Wow. Just wow. You look incredible. I'm 5'4" and if I look anything like you do once I hit the 140's I'll consider it a major win. Great job and good luck on the rest of your loss!

Bump! Training for my first marathon like Tina--The way I see it, it's all about what your goals are for doing it. I mostly want to lift to get some muscle to improve my running vs. running as an off-day activity. Either way, I think is totally fine, it just depends on what your priority is :)
-
Thanks for the reco's! I looked at the Lara bar recipe and it looks yummy! I think I might add some chia seeds at least to mine to up the fiber too. :)
-
Ooh! That sounds great! I'll have to start trying to reduce my carbs, I think, but I can't by *too* much since I'm training for a marathon. Great job and I can't wait to try out that cauliflower crust! Googled it and it looks amazing!!!
-
You look great! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of exercise/diet plan did you follow? We have similar goals, but I'm so far plateaued at the 160's... Ulgh.

That's amazing. Made me tear up a bit actually, just thinking about how you'll have so many moments to experience that would otherwise be missed without a healthy lifestyle. Is stuff like this that makes being healthy such a big deal, not just the vanity of looking good and feeling good. Not only do you get those benefits,…

I LOVE Edinburgh! I'm so jealous that you get to run there every day--I went to visit while I was staying with a friend in Newcastle and was completely swept off my feet--such a beautiful place to run too! I wouldn't drive anywhere else either! As for me, I live in the city(ish) of Columbus, so there are plenty of places…

Thanks for the ideas!!! I looked up some free events in town (there are apparently a TON coming up now that the weather is nicer!) and I had TOTALLY forgotten about geocaching! Will have to check it out! :)

Bump! I'm doing my first in October!

I managed to catch the free viewing online, so I'm not sure how to see it, but I assume it'll eventually be on Netflix like its counterpart FoodMatters! Hope you can find it! I can't wait to get some seeds and try some of these tips! I looked for them at Kroger yesterday to no avail, so off to whole foods tonight!
-
Haha, me too to be honest, but I figure I'll try almost anything once? Going to pick some up today!
-
Wow, what amazing results! Well done, you look amazing! Very handsome! Anyway I'll add you. Imalso as looking for more supportive friends! I finished c25k in march 2010 and it totally changed my life. About to start training for my first marathon.
-
Thanks for the tips! I definitely want to make sure to do a 30 miler beforehand--I personally don't like the plans where you only run the full distance on race day. @afrazer02: been running since 2009 and did my first half in October 2011 :)

Aw, I'm sorry. :( That's really ****ty. I'd be hurt and upset too. Plus, I know how hard it is to adjust to a new place where you don't have many friends, that's hard too. Keep your chin up, lovely, and it'll get better. AND hopefully you telling him how you feel will help things a bit. :) PS- What state do you actually…

Haha! That's awesome! I'm close to having that problem with my pajamas--though in all fairness I had to buy a L in them when I really should have gotten the M anyways, but they're from the outlet so that 's all they had! Regardless clothes fitting or NOT fitting in this case is an awesome NSV! :)
-
I agree, I wouldn't make it a habit, but one day won't kill you if you're legitimately not at all hungry. Just have a nice breakfast tomorrow! :)

^^This I was nervous at first about running outside because I didn't want people to see me stop/start--so I got up to a 10 minute interval on the treadmill and then took it outside--chances are no one will see (or if they do, they won't care) if you walk. I like passing other runners, regardless of speed, it's like being…

I love what NC said about some people being stupid. It's sad but true. It's hard to be an overweight runner and people can suck--at least all the posts here are encouraging and positive and hopefully we can all make up for those few jerks that say mean things. I'm still on the slow end of "runners" and whenever I see…

Yeah, I'm thinking Jillian might be the way to go.
-
Good point. I've heard good things about Ri30.
-
I'd love to be friends. I just ran my first half in September 2011 and am going to be training to run a full marathon in October of this year (if I can muster up the courage to register!). I'd definitely love to follow you on your training so we can support each other (and commiserate too! ;) )
-
Yeah, I had that problem, but it was okay once I blended it up. Next time I'll try adding it at the end. Thanks for the tip!
-
Great job! Even though I'm shorter than you, I started at a similar place and hope to get to the same-ish weight--so super encouraging. Oh and we're both almost the same age. You look absolutely wonderful! I'll add you! :) Oh and félicitations à vous aussi fidje!
