No it's not great for calorie burn but it is really good for toning.I love how my body is changing using JM products. Thanks for sharing.

Hi - I am in the same boat - those last 10 (12 for me) baby pounds. Sending you a friend request. J

So it looks like we all kind of checked in with our weights yesterday - want to go with Sunday?

Ugh. I have had a rough couple of days food wise. Not sure why - maybe hormones? I just realized that today I only nursed my son maybe 5 or 6 times... he may be starting to wean a little... So maybe my hormones are out of whack. . . I have had a terrible case of wanting to graze and snack all day. This makes my…

1-2 cups of coffee/day is nothing. I read somewhere recently it can even be good for weight loss, and a number of other health issues (reader's digest maybe?) Anyway, I wouldn't give it up. Just count any cream/sugar/flavor calories. Remember this is supposed to be a lifestyle change and if you aren't going to be happy…

Happy Thursday everyone! How are all of you? How has your week gone? Any goals for this weekend?
-
ahzuri - some days are crazier than others! It is what I always wanted - lots of kids. I just didn't expect them to come all at once! srohler - really you are setting your own cal/goals - so it is whatever works for you, MFP doesn't really calculate it for you. They have settings you can use to account for…

NavyMommy - I answered this is your other thread, but right now I am still taking in @ 2000 cal/day. But I also have twin (almost) 3yo's I'm chasing as well as nursing. I can usually squeeze in a 30 - 45 min workout while they all nap - I hit the treadmill or a DVD. Jillian Michael's 30day shred, and Yoga Meltdown are in…

I'll join! My boy is almost 1, but I don't see him weaning any time soon  I usually weigh in Fri or Sat. and, yes, weigh myself daily too. It helps to keep me on track, even if you "aren't supposed" to do it. Unfortunately, I know nothing about the vitamins. I am still taking an OTC prenatal. More support is always…

Hi! I am breastfeeding #3 - I started MFP when my baby was @ 5mo. also. I found the combination of BFing and MFP to be REALLY helpful. My doctor told me to go NO lower than 2000 cal/day. 1500 seems way too low IMO. What I did when I first started was made my goal 2000cal/day and then used a "breastfeeding mom" food that is…

 not every day. Yikes! It did it daily for you know, 30 days, then I would go back to it every 2 - 4 days after walks/runs.etc. I like it. Franzy - have been interested in Zumba - I don't know much about it though - can you get dvds or do you have to take a class? Yes, I think other JM products might be a good idea.…

I'm with you on the Halloween candy. I can't have stuff like that in the house so it's usually not. But I have little ones and they want to dress up and trick or treat and I think they should. I want to model moderation and restraint, and help them to learn that for themselves, and hopefully they won't have the horrible…

Check out this tool! I came across it on another MFP thread. You can tell the calculator what bread, what you put on your sub, etc. and it will give you a calorie count. http://www.eddieoneverything.com/nutrition_info/calculators/Subway_calorie-calculator HTH! J

Thanks! Those are some good ideas. I will try these soon.

Hi! Welcome! I am breastfeeding #3 and working on losing weight too. My little one is almost a year now though! The best advice I can give you is to take it easy at first. I know how you feel with an 8 wk. old and you just want that extra weight gone. It will go, don't get too aggressive too quickly - your guys need you to…

THANK YOU! Always looking for new music!

Here is another article that gives similar info - specifically with regards to running. Interesting stuff. http://www.runningplanet.com/training/running-intensity-weight-loss.html

I am an emotional eater too. I get moving. And I don't necessarily mean "exercise" (if you can great!) I know sometimes with little ones you can't so I just DO anything to stop myself from snacking. Start or finish some laundry, put away some dishes, pick up things around the house and put them away, sort the mail, run…

Hi! I know right where you are coming from, that's where I started. You can do this. The thing that worked best for me was BABY STEPS. I didn't know if I REALLY wanted to do it either. So the first thing I did was just figured out how many calories I was really eating in a day - then I slowly took away 100 or 200 cal. then…

I got it through netflix and liked it so much I bought my own copy. I worked my way through the 3 levels and now I use them interchangeably. It's a good 20 min. workout. Yes, it's only good for around 200 calories. I love the changes I have seen in my muscle tone though. I liked it so much I tried yoga meltdown also by…

Maybe what C is getting at is that when you create your profile you estimate if you are an "active" or "lightly active" or "sedentary" person. If you accounted for all that walking when you created your profile, then MFP estimated that you should eat X number of calories based on your height, weight, activity levels, etc.…

Congratulations! You must feel so great! Good job on all the hard work! Be proud! And thanks for sharing!

HI, I just took a real quick look and my first thought, is that maybe you aren't getting enough calories? It seems like you are working out pretty hard and averaging @ 1000/day. Make sure you eat your daily requirement PLUS your exercise cals. Regardless of your workouts, I would think you shouldn't have any less than 1200…

Hi, I agree with the HRM suggestion. Until then - I usually log it as circuit training general, and that comes pretty close for me @ 200 calories. HTH J

HI! I have been alternating the 30 day shred with my running workouts and I have definitely seen a HUGE improvement in muscle tone and strength. I often think that if I committed to doing the shred the "right" way, that is one a day for 30 days, I would see even better results. Now I have just added the Yoga Meltdown and…

Hi! I have type 1 and also am on a pump - and since having children, have been working to lose the extra weight. It is a tough thing to balance. I find as I am losing weight my #s are everywhere! I can relate. Feel free to send me a friend request if you want! J

Congrats on the weight loss!!! Do you have a local Salvation Army store or other thrift store? Any of your friends/relatives looking to get rid of unwanted clothes? Is Wal-mart/Kmart out of the question? Craigslist or Ebay will sometimes have people who list a whole box or more of clothes of a particular size. HTH - and…

I actually wear two sports bras when I run to keep the "girls" under control. I agree with having fitting too. I should have one myself.... HTH J
