I am currently using Paleo/Primal to battle some hormonal disorders, right now I have them set to 40% fat, 35% protein, 25% carb and so far it's working OK :) I am getting used to the lower carbs now though and playing with the idea of 75g or less and working my way down from there to see if it helps! I feel so amazing…

I LOVE the Body Revolution workouts! And it's actually 4 days of strength and 2 of cardio. I love them because they're 30 minutes and intense, I seem to build strength quickly with them. Over-training would typically be considered a lot more than 30 minutes a day, especially if you have a sedentary job or aren't terribly…

Try slowly diluting your drinks, after you get used to less and less sweetener you will eventually be able to switch to straight water. You really should only have one or two servings of the stuff a day, not 16, but we all have our vices!

none, there is absolutely NO ketchup on this planet that can make steak taste better than it already does, you just have to learn to cook it correctly

I'm not sure where to get it online, but I am ADDICTED to Yerba Mate Latte... so freaking good! I get mine at the local health food store so I'm no help with the site.. supposedly the caffeine is gentler on your system than most black teas, not sure if it's true or not but that's what they claim anyway, but it definitely…

The lifespan thing isn't necessarily true though, from what I understand as long as they could keep from injuring themselves or getting eaten by a larger predator, they really didn't die from any ailments such as cancer or long drawn out illnesses like we do today.. who the hell wants to live till 90 if your bed ridden and…

I also failed to think about the arctic tribes, thanks for bringing them up! This discussion is very fascinating, I'm glad I started it, you all have definitely brought up some incredibly valid points! That's why I love this group, no one came back with a 'just 'cuz' response or made a snarky remark. I knew that I would…

Very interesting Cerebrus, I think cavemen would have definitely made use of the easiest things to catch such rodent type animals and bugs and such, so they may very well have eaten meat very often. I was stuck in the terms of large game and forgot about the little ones I can't see myself eating haha. I am definitely not…

Pan Fried Coconut Chicken - BS Chicken breasts, sliced in half so they are very thin About 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes Seasonings of your choice 1 egg Coconut oil Heat up oil in a frying pan (cast iron if you've got it) over med to med/high heat (do not get it too hot or the coconut will burn and the chicken will be…

I never "plan" a cheat day or meal, that way I don't feel like I should eat it if I don't want it. If I come home tired one night and pizza sounds good, we order pizza, if we go out for breakfast and I want a pancake with my bacon and eggs, I go for it. I don't indulge every day, or everytime I have a craving, and…

I find that reading articles about what that food is doing to your body helps motivate me a ton! Try paleodietlifestyle.com and marksdailyapple.com and surf around for the articles. Knowing that corn and peanuts very commonly grow a type of mold (gross!) that is hazardous to my health is pretty motivating to me! Knowing…

I started at 38% and am currently 23%.. I would have put around 20% as my goal, but that's only about 5 more pounds of fat.. so I think I'm shooting more for 18% or so :)

I'm so excited/overwhelmed by all they have! I think I'll have to prioritize my purchases so my first order isn't $500!

How could eating the food that God created for us be non-Christian? I would consider it another form of worship to honor that which He has provided for us instead of relying on man-made crap. Obviously, us humans can NOT do a better job.

only weigh yourself on the same scale at the same time of day, after playing with it I find I weigh less after I get out of the shower in the morning (before breakfast). You'll drive yourself insane weighing on 3 different scales!

I'd recommend getting in a great workout before you go and drinking lots of water all day so the extra sodium doesn't pack on too much water weight, and I'd also eat a healthy lunch before I go so I'm not starving and can keep my moderation for the yummies :)

my butcher adds 10% pork fat, otherwise deer and elk meat is way too lean and won't stick together (you absolutely do NOT eat deer fat, it ruins the meat)

welcome to the cave! It sounds like you are absolutely on the right track, I made the conscious decision when I started that Primal was right for me.. a life without cheese is not a life worth living IMO haha, but to each his (or her) own, and some people do need to cut it out due to intolerances.. but again, welcome! and…

We all have those days! I'll grab a rotisserie chicken on crazy nights, or leftovers are good too! Also, if I make a soup or spaghetti (w/ spaghetti squash of course lol) I'll make at least 2 meals worth and freeze them (they only take a little bit to thaw, and you can do it in the microwave or directly in the pot too. I…

knowledge has been essential to me, I also have no major intolerance to gluten and even now when I eat it I just feel a little lethargic and not great but I definitely am not getting sick or anything. I just jumped in at first, did great for about 2 weeks and then had to reel it back and go at it a bit slower. I'm not…

i think that since this is more of a lifestyle than just a diet, you need to do whatever makes this sustainable for you! If that means tracking your food and weighing yourself, then do it :) most likely you'll get to a place where you trust this lifestyle and know that you are only eating what your body needs.

I also recommend paleodietlifestyle.com! and here's my pinterest page for primal and paleo recipes and articles http://pinterest.com/bcreyes/primal-food/... welcome!

we're looking to start a family so I take a vitamin with lots of folate and vitamin C in it, but otherwise I usually never remember to, I'm getting so much more nutrients now that I am Primal and I feel so awesome about what I eat everyday! I'm proud to log my foods and love it when the clerks at the grocery store comment…

I know what you mean, I try to stay off the other boards and enjoy my butter and my bacon in peace!

my hubby and I have shared accounts and have since we got engaged, we have our household personal account which his paychecks go into to pay the bills, I am a massage therapist with my own business so I have a business account that he is also on, the money I make goes to any extra bills, food, gas, fun etc. We both have…

I always recommend taking your measurements, I always have a hard time getting going with the weight, but my inches start decreasing almost immediately! I measure my bicep, chest, thinnest and thickest part of my waist, my hips, thigh and calf EVERY week when I weigh in, that way if I don't lose weight but i'm down an inch…

I know what you mean, it has to do with the fact your blood sugar isn't spiking and dropping all the time like it was when you were eating grains and sugar. I've always been sensitive to my blood sugar levels, and I don't have to worry about that frantic I HAVE TO EAT.. NOW! feeling anymore! It sure is nice!

here's a good article that I found about it: http://paleodietlifestyle.com/fatty-meat-potatoes-dairy-and-paleo-2-0/ ... it may be worth it to try going without it for a while, but if you're a big dairy consumer, cutting that out right off the bat with all the grains and sugars too may be difficult to stick to, just make…

I always like burgers in restaurants, I just ask for no bun and extra lettuce (and add the bacon please!) it's delicious and I pair it with a side salad.. mmmm mmm mmm! if you get veggies, ask for them to be cooked in real butter instead of vegetable oil, and with fast food the fresh-mex places like bajio, qdoba, and…

I was diagnosed in February of 2012, originally they put me on Metformin, which helped get my weight loss started. In June I discovered the Paleo/Primal diet, which given that PCOS is basically diabetes in your ovaries, has been ESSENTIAL to my weight loss. The basics of the diet are that you stop eating grains, legumes,…
