Firstly WELL DONE and secondly- I love this attitude. I get so annoyed when people think they have to join an expensive gym, workout 6 times a week, "detox", drink special shakes instead of meals and generally make weight loss reasonably expensive and miserable. Though I've never been overweight, I have lost 6-7kg myself…

Happy to add. I'm also on maintenance!

Also, just see how you feel. I logged through the first bit of my pregnancy as I was really sick and wanted to ensure I was getting some calories in at least. Then the last few weeks I've finally stopped logging (after almost a year of logging everything!!). It's hard because you want to find the balance between being…

In the uk this advice is only for the third trimester! But yes, set at maintenance, eat well and look after yourself :) that's my plan and I'm 25weeks on tues :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my 650 calorie breakfast this morning of home made fruit salad and then Muesli with (gasp!) 96% fat free milk. Doesn't sound so bad when you put it that way around.

A website alone will not help you loose weight and get fit. You need some commitment and honesty. MFP can help with that.

Smash is fsking disgusting

Also, if no-one has suggested it- can you swap any driving journeys for walking? It's great cardio!

Brilliant :)

Hi all, thought I'd rekindle this thread! I've just found groups (I'm an idiot), and want some other fit mum friends to chat to. Due 17th Sept with baby number 1, I'm 28, from UK and keen walker and cyclist. Not into gyms or working out, but like to get out in the fresh air and look after myself. Pregnancy finally feeling…

Hi all, new to this group (took me ages to remember how to find groups!) I was really sick at the start of my pregnancy (hg from weeks 5-15) but feeling a little better now.... so I'm still behind on weight. I was 159lb before christmas (having lost about 9lb in 6 months). Got pregnant at xmas, and lost 13lb during weeks…

>>http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yr4YVLJjAxQ/USF6GWiqHZI/AAAAAAAABzw/FMVB-_fQbBk/s1600/Anorexia+nervosa.jpg That's what anorexia looks like. I hate when it's bandied around to mean "someone who is a bit thin".

Oh yes! How awful! Thankfully never happened to me.... Ps, yes, I AM pregnant. And weirdly, that actually doesn't make it ok to ask! I was visiting my old work recently (I had much less bump than in my picture) and one lady didn't let me finish telling her and was asking 'are you pregnant?'. A)it's my news b) what I'd I…

Thanks! Took me years to gain the balls to get it done :)

I can never remember image tags on here.... Here goes nothing

I think it's like anything. If something is though of as a "competition pace", then it's surprising that it can be achieved by the average person. I'm 5ft 10 with long legs, I'm pretty fit and walk a lot, and can only achieve 3.5-4mph over a few miles on flat easy terrain. If you're sure that's what you achieve then go for…

There is a lot of research that says " a mile is a mile" whether walking or running. I am also impressed (and honestly a little sceptical) about walking at 5mph. On a flat, even surface with no roads to cross, I can maintain 4mph for a few miles walking and I am tall with a long stride! Either way, exercise is exercise! I…

To me THAT is mostly just excuses! I live in the UK and our temperature has been shocking since about October. It's been snowing almost every week since christmas. I, despite being pregnant and sick (bedridden for three weeks and suffering HG for 10 weeks), Ihave walked over 160 miles and cycled over 110 since the start of…

Yes and no. What annoys me is our (as a species) over-reliance on Gyms. Or "working out". What we need is a more active lifestyle. Sedentary lifestyles and inactivity are one of the global causes of death and disability. And yet we drive our cars half a mile to the shops, drive our children to school and take the lift at…

I think a fair point has been made. I would not invite someone for dinner or to my wedding unless I liked them. If I liked them, I'd care about what they ate. We had some vegetarian friends for dinner, and made a veggie meal for them a couple of weeks ago. I invited them because I like them, and I respect their decisions…

My cat is a rescue, we got him about 5 yo having lived on the streets. He was in a bad way, overweight (16 lb ish), scabby and fiv positive. He has since been diagnosed as a ' transient' diabetic, and so has huge problems loosing weig. He is an indoor cat , which means he gets little exercise (but having kitty HIV means he…

If you eat your correct portions of fruit and veg in a day then it does all add up! Today I've so far snacked on two nectarines and one kiwi fruit. That's about 100 calories, so if I didn't log it, I'd be eating an extra 100 cals today!

Dear American person, did you not think that seeing as we don't use cups, a "cup" might not be a standard measure here......? Dear American person, as everything weighs different amounts, why do you measure in volume? A cup of flour is different to a cup of rice, which is different to a cup of grated cheese. Where you have…

I'm ill (recovering) but made it out for a 20 min walk :)

I think overall the idea of the gym bothers me....I walk and cycle in the amazing outdoors for my exercise but have been to a gym or two in my life. Main bugbears are: -people that.drive half a mile to the gym then park illegally as close to the front door as possible -anyone who leaves things not as they found them -women…

Mmmmmm full cream cows milk or goats milk for me thanks! :)

Kind and chilled out girl :)

If I am on the turbo trainer I watch telly or DVDs which helps pass the time. When I'm walking I listen to radio 4 podcasts as I'm basically a boring old git! (edit) when I'm out cycling I just talk to myself for hours :)

A cheeky naughty girl!
