Ben, you are doing an awesome job. Eventhough you are running more miles the weight does not come off so easily as your body is used to the runs you are doing. I would have it checked out by a PhysioTherapist who is familiar with runners. There could be many reasons for that knee pain. Sorry you are going through such pain, that must be very frustrating. Good luck, Saka

Diet aside, I would recommend that you get that IT band looked at so you have a solution for it. I would suggest that you start back into things by maybe running 5 minutes and walking 1 minute to build everything up. Hope this helps !!

Since you have already tried many different pairs of shoes I would recommend that you get your foot checked out. There may be something wrong that shoes will not correct. I have run 9 half's and there is no shame in having to walk. I had to do it a couple of times. How fast did you run your long run in relation to your normal pace. I try to be at least 60-75 seconds slower so my body builds endurance. Send me a message with any questions as you progress with your training and good luck :)…
