I make it a general rule not to eat past 9 or 9:30 if I can help it. If I have calories left over and I'm hungry though, I'll grab something with good protein but lower in carbs. You just have to see how your body deals with it.

5'4 here... Highest weight ever (that I stepped on a scale to see): 216 SW with MFP this past Jan 30th: 205 CW: 162 GW: 140...then 130 :) I finally added some strength training into my regimen (30 Day Shred). Even though I hung on the lbs for a few weeks while my body adjusted, I dropped inches for sure. I'm also starting…

First of all, great job! You look awesome! Second, can I ask how tall you are? I started at 205 and my ultimate goal is at least 140 (possibly less once I get there). I just like to get an idea of how tall the people in "success stories" are for my own gauge. Thanks and keep it up!

One of my favorites is what my sister and I call the "best breakfast sandwich" (well, it is to us). 1/4 c egg whites cooked/scrambled (your preference - I like to just cook like an omelet and fold up on the sandwich) Thomas' 100 calorie english muffin (there are two different kinds) wedge of light laughing cow cheese (your…

Nope. I go often too. Once your body gets used to lots of water and hydration, you don't have to go quite as frequently. At least I found that I didn't. But, it's healthy to get all those toxins out of your system!

I don't recommend any add ins but I do recommend investing in a plastic tumbler with a straw. For whatever reason, having the see through tumbler and straw makes all the difference for me drinking water. I now drink at least 5 full 32oz tumblers of water a day!

Today I plan on finishing level 1. I've probably only lost about 2-3 pounds since starting but I can tell I've lost inches. Like a dummy, I didn't take starting measurements and now really wish I had. I guess I can take measurements starting at level 2. I already feel stronger and a little more toned. For example, day 1 I…

I use a Polar F4 heart rate monitor (with chest strap). It's always given me a really accurate reading when doing cardio or circuit training. I too LOVE spin classes to get my butt in shape. In my spin class last night, I burned 643 calories in 55 minutes! I'm currently 163 pounds. I've also only been back to regular (as…

One of my favorite sandwiches I've ever discovered is an Avocado Reuben. I went back to vegetarianism at the beginning of this year, but would struggle sometimes thinking of the food I was no longer going to eat. I came across the Avocado Reuben recipe on PETA's website. To make this even a little more low-cal, I use…

I'm on my Day 15 of the juice fast. I think this will be my last day with all juice. I plan on adding in a healthy meal per day starting tomorrow. I too juice for the next work day in the evening because I get up too early. I've heard/found that if you consume the juice within 12-24 hours, you'll still get the nutrient…

It's not really recommended since natural juice has all the good macronutrients and no preservatives. I've supplemented with Naked juice when in a pinch but juicing fresh ingredients is the best way to go with a juice fast since part of the idea is to reboot and detox your system. Some of the Naked juices have a lot of…

I'm on Day 15!! I never thought I'd make it this far. My intention is to start transitioning tomorrow to at least one solid vegetarian meal a day for about a week. Likely it will be dinner. Then I'll slowly incorporate more lean protein and healthy fruits/veges into a second meal.

Today is Day 8 of my juicing experience. I'm finally starting to feel really good about it. If you had asked me Day 1- Day 5, I would have told you I'd give my first born for a gooey cheese pizza. It seems to have taken a little longer for me to feel the good effects of detoxing and juicing. I went into this with the hope…

Thanks for the advice! I'm trying to tell myself it's all mental right now. When I see others eat, I want to chew something!! I've read if you're just really having trouble, eat a banana or avocado. It's not going to derail the whole thing. Plus, it's a fruit/veggie. I'm doing a little better now. Hopefully it just keeps…

Day 4 juicing. I'm still a little tired and there were some bad headaches yesterday. The hunger pains are still there but I'm pushing for at least 10 days all juice. I'd rally like to go 21 but we'll see how the body reacts to that!

Day 1 starts today for me! I'm a little nervous but have 3 different juices with me at work. Those who do it or have done it successfully, how much juice do you drink a day? Were you using protein powder?

I'm about to start a 30 day juice fast on Monday. I've been prepping my body for it this week. I lost about 45 pounds between June and September last year by just exercising regularly and eating right. I fractured my ankle then had an accident that affected my back and I've let myself manage to put all the weight back on.…

I can support this. I've found studies that accepted the above statement that ""Starvation mode" occurs when you eat less than half of your allotted calories (BMR) for a prolonged period of time. "

Honestly, I've never used it but I recommend resistance bands. You can buy a 3 piece set for the same price as a shakeweight and do dozens more exercises. They're easy to travel with, store, and use.

Drink most of the day 1 of the weekend...you won't feel into drinking the rest for a while. Hehe. That's terrible advice, I know.

Be careful not to fall to much below your calorie goal. You don't want your body to hoard what it's got because it doesn't think you're feeding it a enough. If you eat a ton of fruit, like you say, you might have to revisit that. I eat about 2-3 servings of fruit a day and I don't see it affect my weight loss. Fruit does…

Great job! It's such an accomplishment to hit milestones like these, isn't it?! And, Susanleigh, I came on here with over 70 lbs to lose to really be in a healthy weight range for my height. I'm slowly creeping up on the half way point after really commiting to this journey at the end of May/beginning of June. Feel free to…

True....I guess I'll have to really compare the labels.

Good to know! You don't notice a difference in the taste of the dip? I wouldn't think you would.

Welcome! Congrats already on the weight loss and the amazing attitude! This site has been so helpful to me when I have questions, need motivation or just need some positive reinforcement!

I've lost 30 pounds = amount of cheese an average American eats in a year . I don't believe I'm an average American. I'm pretty sure I eat more than that :o I love cheese - can't help it!

Agreed. You need to give you body time to understand what you're trying to do. If you've been eating way over 1200 calories before and not working out, your body might try to hold on to the fuel you are giving it until this lifestyle becomes a routine. 2 lbs in a week is pretty darn good! In the next few weeks you might…

You might not want to hear it but you might need to increase your cals per day. 1,000 is mighty low if you're exercising too. Your body might not be losing because it thinks its not being fed enough.

Did you eat the biscuits?! How can you not eat those biscuits?!! Ahhhhhhhhhh! They're like cheddar biscuit crack.

This might be a little late but I just discovered an awesome dipping sauce for plain broiled or grilled salmon. All you need is Chobani Greek yogurt - fat free and Grey Poupon coarse grain mustard (any coarse grain will do). You mix about 1/4 Tsp of the mustard for every 1 Tsp of yogurt (more or less to your taste). I…
