  • I'm having the worst experience with the Polar FT4 right now. I had one 5 years ago and loved it. The new model is constantly dropping my heart rate, skipping all over, etc. I've even sent it back for repair under the warranty and they sent me a "repaired" watch that still sucks. I'm so disappointed.
  • I saw this on Buzzfeed the other day and it made me laugh! Any MFP'er will totally understand! http://www.buzzfeed.com/catesevilla/hold-on-i-just-need-to-log-this#.pvWBz2Red
  • Yum! Bok Choy
  • Yes, sometimes. Vegans don't.
  • Generally all fresh produce. I'm vegetarian and shop almost exclusively in this section. I can easily drop $75 a week for 1 PERSON while maintaining a HEALTHY vegetarian lifestyle. It's absurd. It makes me so mad when I go to check out and see the person buying mac and cheese, pizza, chips, soda, etc paying a fraction what…
  • Love my vegetarian life! Check out this group for some specific veg/vegan posts... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/45-happy-herbivores
  • Fellow vegetarian here - but not quite vegan. This group might be interesting for you: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/45-happy-herbivores
  • I'm currently (almost) half way through Slim in 6. I have a heart rate monitor and I use that while I exercise. I then log it under cardio as "circuit training- general". I change the calories burned to what my actual HRM says I burned.
  • Agree on the nut butter. I'm with you. I'm a vegetarian and I keep a lower carb lifestyle. I often find I can't hit 1200. But, I'm eating well, consistently, and nutritiously. If I need to get close and it's after dinner, I'll have 1 tbsp of peanut or almond butter with a 1 cup glass of unsweetened almond milk. I lick the…
  • I agree with the overnight oats. There are many recipes you can try. My favorites are the pumpkin and peanut butter banana. You can find some options here: http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal. Also, consider using greek yogurt and even almond milk to keep the calories reasonable. It's a lot of protein and…
  • There are a lot of good ideas on here already! I totally agree with trying to pre-plan your meal. If I know where I'm going, I always scope out the menu before and decide. Otherwise: 1. Skip the bread basket! You don't need it. If you have to have it, chew slowly and eat less of it. 2. Sharing an appetizer? Try to stay…
  • So you're all hitting the beaches in early March but I'm going to Iceland!! I still need to focus because, believe it or not, I'll be in a bathing suit quite often. Iceland has tons of natural hot springs that the locals bathe in (google the Blue Lagoon!). Im needing to get back on track after gaining almost 30 lbs from a…
  • I'm just really bad at maintaining! This is my THIRD time coming back to MFP for major weight loss. The first time was in 2010 where I managed to lose about 45 lbs in about 7 months. During the end of my really good stretch, I suffered a stress fracture in my ankle. A wedding and then the holidays kept me from sticking…
  • Or check this out: http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelysanders/ways-to-eat-quinoa-and-succeed-in-life?sub=2068087_1020417. 32 ways to eat quinoa!
  • Broccoli Quinoa Casserole! I make this every few weeks. It also works to freeze some to thaw out later. I make the below with less cheese and greek yogurt in place of mayo. It's still awesome. I have it down so this recipe makes 4 servings and each serving is only about 252 calories!…
  • Please don't insist on posting things like this on boards. She's asking for ideas, not opinions. Create an "I Hate Goat Cheese" board if you want.
  • I am such a goat cheese fanatic! I have an entire cook book about goat cheese. There are so many different types you can purchase (goat gouda, goat mozzarella, crumbled goat, goat blue, hard and soft types, etc.) There are tons of recipes out there for both the hard and soft types. (Think mac and cheese with the hard…
  • Really? I had to replace both my batteries on the F4 and didn't have any issues with the strap section. It twisted right off with the help of a quarter. Mine might be an older model though (about 3.5 years old).
  • I replaced my own batteries in the Polar F4 from ones purchased at Radio Shack. It was easy enough, I thought.
  • Yes, definitely quinoa!
  • Check out my diary. I feel like it constantly tells me I'm over in protein! I eat a mainly vegetarian diet with occasional fish permissions (very ,very rarely).
  • I second the above poster. Every Sunday afternoon/evening, I make a crustless egg-white quiche with varying vegetables (my favorite is spinach and mushroom). The Monday serving just goes in the fridge but the rest go in the freezer. I can just quickly zap them in the microwave in the morning.…
  • This coat which will make my new found (slender) waist look amazing for my NYE trip to PRAGUE! I also purchased knee high brown boots that fit over my previously too big calves. I'm 12-13 lbs from the total goal weight and I know I'll achieve that by December!
  • weightlifters! haha!
  • I spin for cardio and weight train/strength train my lower body. Squats and lunges have helped build the muscle (which in turn, for me, reduces a wobbly appearance of my thighs). Plies are also a good strength training move. Posters are right in that you can't "spot reduce" but you can focus on building the muscle. I will…
  • Sorta close! Age: 29 Height: 5'4 SW: 205 CW: 155 GW: 135-140, too!
  • I feel like people saying bananas are bad now is akin to people saying how terrible avocado was for you in the 90s. That is, until some scientist stepped up and explained the benefit of good, natural fats and sugars. If it's nature grown, it's generally okay by me. I have half a banana every morning in my oatmeal. I'll…
  • It gets sooooo much easier! I know you mentioned you might treat yourself a few times a year to meat/meat products. But, you might be surprised when the time comes that you don't want them! I'm a vegetarian due to an opposition of the factory farming method in America, not health (although it helps that too). While I know…
  • Agree with the above. Maybe try some squat exercises or plies. Building the muscle in addition to cardio is the only thing that has helped me tone up my thunder thighs.
  • I love this! I have two cats that like to sit on top of the TV stand and judge me while I do my 30 Day Shred workouts.
