  • I have 100% Whey Gold Standard or whatever, from Optimum Nutrition. It has 1g of sugar per serving, but that's because it has artificial sweeteners (each flavour has a different one, I read up on the one mine has). It's 200 cals, 1g of sugar, 2g of fat per 55g of protein, it's pretty lean. There's obviously gonna always be…
  • I was 119.4 this morning :-) but 20 min later I took a big crap so who knows, lol! Did my first day today, it was fun! besides a little discomfort in my knees from squatting it was ace. Got up a sweat and panting all the way through. I normally do squats on my toes but apparently this is incorrect form and did them with my…
  • You will not get that much muscle lol! It takes a REALLY long time to put on muscle weight and you need to be eating a calorie surplus to make them bigger at all. Your muscles can't create new mass out of thin air. Your muscles will get stronger, though, and you will lose fat making them more defined.
  • 500 is restrictive and could be part of an eating disorder. Although when I was anorexic I was scared of going over 99, anything triple digits caused anxiety attacks. My heart really goes out to disordered people :-( It is up to the person what food goes in their body, but I don't know why anyone without an eating disorder…
  • MFP "guesses" your metabolism and activity levels, so it is just a guideline! If it's been working for you, maybe adjust your calorie goals so you're not guilty and in the red every day even though you're doing good. :-) 1200 is just a baseline to start at, everyone's different. Personally I find I can lose weight eating…
  • Yaaay :-) I weighed in today because it monday in NZ and I just had to know, but i'll weigh in tomorrow too!
  • Since push ups are a pure strength exercise, I imagine all you can do to get better at them is do them a lot, and eat a lot of protein so those muscles can strengthen when they repair the next day!
  • I don't generally take Fox News to be unbiased or reliable source of information, but I suppose the threat makes sense. It won't be as devastating as 9/11 if anything happens, and much more will be done this time to stop an attack. I suspect Americans are just getting a little sensationalist over it, but you have to treat…
  • Just boil hot water and add a green tea bag. Arizona teas and most other bottled teas are filled with 100% unnecessary junk. Real green tea has zero sugar, fat, calories, nothing... and a higher concentration of antioxidants.
  • Neat, I'll go about friending everyone later :-) I am GMT+12, way down here in NZ. The time difference is so dramatic it's actually pretty close to normal haha.
  • This is just in case there is room left! I'll take a photo of my soft flabby tummy too, maybe some before & afters :-) Name: Laurel Age: 18 Height: 5'4" HW: 140 SW: 140 CW: 120 UG: 110 (hey same as you chedeco :))
  • I find this show pretty funny because of the false drama they put into the hilarious words in the chat logs, and how dumbfounded the criminal is when he's caught. Arguing over humor is a stupid thing, it is impossible for either side to win. I am also a rape victim, and I give no compassion or pity to rapists. Maybe some…
  • It's a lot of money for just 1 game... I'd only get it if you are interested in a lot of other wii games. Otherwise I'd just download some exercise vids and get a heart rate monitor or something. It looks kinda gimmicky to me, selling weight loss to people who don't understand necessarily how weight loss works.
  • Also remember dogs may be faster than us, but humans are supreme distance runners. I don't know how long it would take to exhaust a dog though, I'd just be careful because animals will suffer quietly until they collapse instead of saying "can we take a break?".
  • Well MFP predicts I will be 113 in 5 weeks usually, so this seems attainable! I am 120 now. I tend to lose more weight than my 1 lb goal though, as I don't log exercise less than 200 cals.
  • I am literally never hungry now that I started MFP! I eat way healthier since I'm being held accountable for my food and I can visually see if I've been doing bad. Healthy food is not dense in calories at all so I'm full every meal :-)
  • I eat cheese anyways because it's deliciousss, but this is all interesting!
  • 2 lb a week probably won't cause loose skin. Also, 1700 sounds right - 500 cal deficit a day to lose a lb a week, do the math. If you were at a 1000 cal deficit for 2 lbs, changing it to 1 lb would make it 1700-1800.
  • Sometimes your body needs to adjust to a new system, or recover. I would not quit a program that was working for you before until it keeps failing you for a couple more weeks. Otherwise you will be bouncing from method to method before your body can demonstrate results of any of them, and you'll never know what works.
  • I don't really have a problem, sometimes I will treat myself but it's not hard to stop. It's a calculated treat that fits into my limits for the day. You're in full control of your body... just do it! Think that to yourself, you are not controlled by food, if you want to get up and run nothing is stopping you but you...…
  • I don't know what sushi you're eating!! Depending on the rice/fish/meat/etc ratio, pieces are usually 50-200 cals each from what I've seen. Sushi also isn't Chinese so I don't know how hard it'd be to find ;P
  • Would you mind making your diary public? Even if you're just starting weight loss, if you ate what MFP recommended for you you'd lose weight. I might be able to help further if I can see your food log :-) If not I understand
  • No, drinking that much water will aid your weight loss and stop water retention. :) Your body only retains water weight when it think ti's dehydrated and isn't getting enough.
  • It is impossible to gain weight if you are eating exactly how many cals MFP says, because MFP builds in a calorie deficit. If you eat less than you body spends moving and living, you will lose weight. The reason you gained would probably be: 1. You are overestimating how many calories you burn exercising, which is…
  • My boyfriend eats like 4000 calories of junk a day (slowly changing it to at least healthy foods) and is pretty sedentary and has an underweight BMI. Sometimes life just isn't fair ;P
  • I have a hard time meeting my protein goal unless I have a can of tuna, and I will still eat meat at one of my other meals. I also get protein from cottage cheese and peanut butters but the other-macros:protein ratio is higher so I wouldn't count on them exclusively at all. You'd be surprised how much chicken you actually…
  • I definitely had your problem when I first started MFP. I'd have a couple hundred calories to go at 10 at night and no desire to make them up. Nowadays I slip digestible amounts of extra food throughout the day (like a small handful of almonds, adding 2 egg whites to my scrambled eggs, etc) and it's much easier to make my…
  • She needs to gradually change her lifestyle so that a routine that causes weight loss does not feel like an unending, gruelling diet. Then she can get skinnier by... living. You might kick her into gear by mentioning how important she is to you, and as such, her health?
  • I'm getting a boob job in the next few months, because I have Tuberous Breast Deformity. It's really pretty ugly and hurts my self esteem, and dresses and bras are never the right shape. Thankfully it's recognized by my insurance company :-)
