Yep! Haha. Now that I know exactly what's going into my body (especially sugars and fats, I only counted cals before) there's so much more incentive to eat better. And then at the end of the day... you have 300 cals left over and nowhere to put them and not feeling hungry! Story of my life

Usually 900-1200. I am really trying to make that 1200 every day but I have a terrible appetite and don't eat very calorie dense meals. Trying to get better at meeting my minimum every day. Ugh, and when I feel like cardio, I know I'll have to eat a couple hundred more cals x_x My sister's baking a cake right now, but i'm…

Okay, thanks. It's usually just 10 deep breaths so I can go for longer.

A big plate of eggs, and drinking good OJ between glasses of water works for me

Calories are calories (well, mostly!). The belief comes from the fact that your body hardly moves and shuts some things down when you're asleep, having a slower metabolism. This is actually not true, hardly anything is actually shut down, you are asleep not dead! Your body also does a lot of repairing while you're asleep.…

I like my omelets/scrambled eggs to be 3 egg whites and 1 egg yolk. Way less fat and cholesterol. Although, eggs don't have a terrible amount of cholesterol and it's the good type anyways, they're definitely not bad for you.

$3 jump rope! jumping rope burns crazy calories and works every muscle at once.

It's not "limited" at all, they just give you a goal and when you go over it shows up as a big menacing red number - even though you did a good thing. Protein is great for weight loss. I personally changed my goals from the default to lower sodium intake a bit and up protein to 25%. Someone trying to build muscle would…

Chewing your food thoroughly helps your brain tell you you're full, and appreciate your food so you don't need more :) I'm not surprised!

Haha! Weed munchies is a huge stereotype, but I never learned about drunk munchies until it was too late. ALL THE CHEESEBURGERS.

Lol!

oh, no, woops I didn't mean maintainence, I meant maintaining at the MFP cal limit (usually 500 under maintainence). sometimes I get confused, my bad :) But still, If I am eating what MFP says, I am still 500 cals under ACTUAL maintainence, and 400+ more from exercising is just too much of a deficit. I need to eat 1200…

I only lose count if I get pretty drunk, in which case I just don't log that day/don't take it into consideration because I'll never know what number is closest. Better to just know "I had a lot" or "I had a bit" and work it off the next day :)

I believe in body types, if only because of all the women with low body fat percentages that you can see their different shapes. Lol. Huge differences in bone structures, curves, and where they carry their minimum fat! Unless you mean more compositionally/chemically, then I have no idea.

Yes! That's exactly what it reminds me of, haha.

Amen. The American lifestyle for many people is sedentary and indulgent - and once you slip into eating easy junk food for every meal, it's hard to appreciate things like fresh bread and chicken breast and salads, especially in smaller portions. Something I noticed when visiting Paris with my mother - not a fat person in…

You are 100% correct. I get this a lot when I decline fatty junk food and have to explain that I'm "trying to lose weight" and even the less offensive "trying to eat better". They get very snippity with things like I must be anorexic, that I don't need to diet (hello! I'm skinny because I do. this didn't magically happen)…

I have a really hard time eating my 1200 calories a day, I know how you feel! I'll be sitting there 10 at night logging foods... and see I have 200 cals to use up. Eating 200 cals right before bed doesn't feel good. :( I usually just go for a couple spoonfuls of natural peanut butter, as I usually can't think of anything…

Eating back calories is for people with pretty low maintainence - maybe YOU exercise so you can burn calories, but people who have no problem eating just their minimum still need exercise to be physically fit, so they need to make up those calories to stay at maintainence. I used to think, why would I eat them back? the…

Fat loss does NOT work that way unfortunately! Anyone telling you that you can target where you lose weight is lying. You need to lose fat everywhere at once, genetically it may leave some places sooner than others (some people lose it in their stomach first, or their face, etc) but no exercises will target fat loss. You…

The only diet pills that "work" have things like green tea in them, because of the great effect green tea has on your metabolism, and caffeine so you will be moving and fidgeting more and have more energy to work out. Or, they're a diuretic, and you think you're losing weight but it's just water. Just drink a couple cups…

Protein is definitely a good source for weight loss - your body burns 30% of it processing it, whereas it only burns ~5% of fat, etc, Not all calories are equal. :) MFP has a very low default protein minimum, you can change it to something that suits you. For example, someone trying to build muscle should eat 1 gram of…

Even if you live with parents, try suggesting foods you'd like them to pick up. :) I usually make a list of things like coconut milk or spinach or small things my mother normally doesn't buy and doesn't mind getting.

I just watched that yesterday, and now I definitely check sugar content just as often as calories. O.O Really educational, though.

walking is actually great, running is just a faster way to get it done (with some cardiovascular benefits). The truth is, weight loss is MOSTLY diet, you can reach your goal weight without exercising at all. Cardio just burns calories meaning you can eat more, or get a higher deficit, and lifting weights just strengthens…

the fact that they claim they "tone" your legs makes me suspicious... you do not tone your muscles, you strengthen and build them. tone is the physical, well, tone of the muscle, the makeup. it is not something you change by working out or wearing shape ups. tone is a BS word used by people trying to sell things :)

egg and chicken omelet!

There have actually been studies proving that birth control does not make you gain weight. When women gain weight on birth control, they often blame it on the medication because it is listed as a possible side effect - but that is the pharmaceutical company legally covering their *kitten* with every possible side effect…

my favourite school food is definitely wraps! pack up a tortilla with chicken, lettuce, whatever you like, fold it securely (there are ways to fold wraps so they don't have any openings) and wrap snugly with cling wrap. I just chuck that in my backpack and heat it up at lunch, though you can eat cold.

Unless you are on a certain medication or have a certain condition that prevents weight loss (or causes weight gain) it is impossible to gain weight unless you are eating too much. :) If you are sticking to a deficit but also aren't in starvation mode, you will lose weight, it's the law of thermodynamics. either you're…
