  • I absolutely, 100% agree with impy. You MUST feed your body. If you read that your body needs 1350 calories to live, then that's the number you need to reach EVERY SINGLE DAY (I suspect that's your BMR which means it's the absolute minimum you should be eating.....you could probably eat 200-400 more than that and still…
  • Totally normal....I gain 3-4 lbs around TOM.
  • That's awesome! I still hold on to my favorite pair of college jeans, just in case. I would be floored if I could slip them on easily one day!
  • I'm new to all this too, and looking to make the transition to paleo/primal. I've just started the NerdFitness workout plan as well, and am hoping to build muscle and lose fat. I'd love some friends! I'm also a part of the Eat More to Weigh Less community and wonder what your macro goals are for paleo/primal eating.…
  • I'm about half-way through stage 1, but struggling to get back into a routine after a 2-week vacation....I could use some motivation! Sending request!
  • It will all be okay!!! Just think of how, once you've reset your metabolism, you'll be able to shed those extra lbs the right way! Plus, the 2.8 lbs may not be totally accurate. I'm an every-day-weigher and I float up and down up to 3 lbs from day to day (I just started my 4th week of reset). Just keep on truckin', because…
  • Congrats! You look fabulous!
  • I'm in the same situation....I'm only starting the 4th week of my reset, but my weight hasn't really moved significantly. I've gained and lost the same 3 lbs every few days. Right now I'm sitting at 1/2 lb above my starting weight. I'm guessing it's just water weight, and that a lot of the early weight gain (I gained the…
  • Good for you! I just finally got back to stage 1 after a 4-week hiatus too.....it felt just like I was doing it for the first time again, but I was still stronger than I was before! The results are totally worth the awkwardness of starting out.!!
  • Thank you so much for your update! It's really inspiring for those of us in the middle of our reset. I'm so looking forward to my cut, but I'm also really enjoying the amount of food I'm able to eat.
  • That calculation puts me at 1350 calories per day....which is even below my BMR. I'm not all that active right now, but my BodyMedia Fit tells me I burn 2200 calories daily. I can also tell you that I wasn't losing when I was eating 1400 calories a day, which is how I know my metabolism needs help.
  • White potatoes are very high in starch and have very little nutritional value. Sweet potatoes are still pretty starchy, but they have a ton of important nutrients.
  • Week 1 complete! I feel great!! No more afternoon naps, and I feel like I sleep much better at night. I'm up 2.5 lbs, and my clothes feel pretty tight, but I'm okay with it. My favorite part of the day now is coming home from work and changing into my pj pants. :) I talk to my coworker, who's a nurse, every day about what…
  • What a great find! Thank you for sharing!!!
  • Welcome, Gabrielle! I'm three full days into my reset, and I feel fabulous already. I haven't had to take my usual afternoon nap at all since I started giving my body every single calorie it needs (and maybe a little more, just for good measure). I'm a little bloated, but I expected that. I stepped on the scale this…
  • Great job!!! Se excited to see how you fare with the rest of the program!
  • I sent a request! I'd love more friends too, as I'm just starting my reset. :)
  • I'm back! Man, my 2-week trip to the states threw me off big-time. I've been so jet-lagged that even though I've been home for more than a week I haven't had the energy to get back to lifting. I've just upped my cals to TDEE though....I've finally accepted the fact that I've treated my body terribly and need a metabolic…

  • I'd say I'm in the moderate activity level. I usually do NROL 3 days a week and cardio 1-2 days. I use a BMF so I knew my burn (which is very close to Scooby's estimate of my TDEE) and I'd eat 400-500 calories below that. No logging exercise or anything, but I made sure to eat well above my BMR every day. I'm definitely…
  • Hello everyone! I've been part of EM2WL for months, but I guess I was in denial about actually needing to do a complete reset. I thought I was fine....that I hadn't screwed up my metabolism too badly. Until I got a BodyMedia Fit. I've been wearing one for 3 weeks, and I've been very good about maintaining a 400-500 calorie…
  • I strongly recommend looking into the South Beach Diet. It's based on sound scientific studies, and although it doesn't cut carbs completely out, it does work to break the carb addiction (physical and psychological) that many of us suffer from.
  • I finished 5A yesterday, and man was it hard doing 3 sets! I'm also not moving up in weight the way I'd hoped, but that's mostly because I'm doing the workouts at home without a spotter or squat rack, so I'm limited in my squat weight by the amout of weight I can swing up over my head. And I feel like I've made ZERO…

  • That is fabulous FunBun!!! I can't wait to see your progress after stage 2! I'm halfway through stage 1 and I've made zero progress on push-ups....but you're definitely an inspiration to me!
  • Finished 4A tonight! I feel like I'm progressing in my weights slower than most.....maybe I just started out with very little in the way of strength. I do feel stronger though (well, not right now because my limbs are all jelly). Also, it's probably just water retention, but my limbs feel firmer. I weighed/measured this…

  • I LOVE this spreadsheet! What an awesome job!
  • Do it! Just make sure you warm up properly first! I was in the exact same situation with my 1B workout, but I've found that sitting in a nice deep squat and deadlifting some light weight before going for the heavy stuff makes a HUGE difference. I'm on 3B tonight, and I hardly get sore any more at all. Just make sure to…
  • Great job!! I look forward to seeing your progress! I'm in my second week so feel free to add me as a friend if you need encouragement or have any questions!

  • Welcome! I just started last week.....so if you have any questions about what to expect, feel free to ask!
  • Do 15 on each leg per set, so 30 total. That way you're not doing one leg more than the other when you increase to 3 sets later in stage 1.

  • I like to go for a little walk on my rest days, and maybe do some yoga. For me, that's really just to get my muscles warm and to ward off some of the soreness. I couldn't imagine doing anything strenuous though.
