The reason I thought dehydration is because I have pain in both legs (tho mostly the left). Would it be unusual to injure both legs at once? Also the pain has been traveling around for over a week now. It's very odd and extremely frustrating. Has anyone had anything similar to this problem before?

Congratulations! I love to hear success stories like yours ~ thanks for sharing!

It's interesting that you mentioned downhill running because I read an article about quad pain and the author (based on personal experience) suggested vigorous downhill running to "fix" sore quads. I normally maintain pace evenly up and down hills but per this guy's suggestion, I FLEW down my hills Wednesday (both fun and…

Improvement this morning. Mostly just pain in left quad after 4-1/2 miles. Keeping my fingers crossed I will start feeling better now. I have a 12 mile run scheduled for Sunday, I should know then for sure. LOL.

Will do! Thank you again.

I don't stretch. My cool downs consists of walking a few blocks home from the bike path. I could incorporate some stretching to my routine. I am borrowing a friend's foam roller tomorrow to give that a try, too. Thank you for the advice.

Any suggestions? I'm really stressing out over this problem.

What a huge difference already ~ congratulations!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Did I say Wow? Congratulations! What an accomplishment!

These are all great and SO true! If one more person tells me "it's bad for your knees", I will scream! LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I started with c25k and loved the program. Start SLOW and get a nice pair of shoes (preferably from a running store that can fit you properly). If you're worried about "lasting" for 20 minutes, try cross-training to strengthen your cardio. I was doing 30DS and using the Elliptical while also starting c25k and had no…

Truly one of the most inspirational stories I have read of MFP. Congratulations to you on your hard work and dedication!

Congratulations! I completed my first 5K almost two years ago and I was HOOKED instantly. I can't get enough! I'm so happy for you and your awesome accomplishment!

Outstanding job ~ you rock!

I started with the C25K just over two years ago. I remember my first run when I ran for two minutes straight and I was so proud of myself! I am doing my third Half Marathon next month and am planning on doing a full Marathon next year. And, it all started with that first two minute run! I can't say enough good things about…

That's not a lot of calories for how much running you're doing. I run 5 days a week (4 to 8 miles) and eat about 2,000 calories a day and I am losing weight. You need more fuel.

I don't like how words are now used by abbreviated versions. ie "adorbs", "presh", "ridic", etc. I notice business are doing it now, too. ie American Family Insurance calls itself "Am Fam". Why? Why? Why are we so lazy? LOL.

You made my day. And, for the record, you rock.

"penance cardio" I thought I was the only one that did this!!

I had something that sounded similar, but when I ran it wasn't "too" bad. When I was done, I could hardly walk. I went up stairs sideways like you do. I iced a lot and kept running but it never got better ~ only got worse. I tried a brace and that didn't help me either. I finally gave myself a month off and kept icing.…

Congratulations! Great time despite your set-back! I completed my first Half in May. About the 10 mile mark I thought "I'm never doing this again!". So, I did my second one last Sunday and I signed up for another one in November. They are addicting! LOL.

Half Marathon. I did my second one yesterday. I am seriously considering the Chicago Marathon next year!

I'll drink just about any flavor of hot tea. Green is a favorite. Love Tea!

Wow! You are BEYOND amazing. Congratulations and LOVED your post!

I live in the Midwest and our winters can be rough, too. The bike path I normally run on gets iced over for several months during the winter isn't even safe to walk on let alone run. Therefore, I purchased a nice used treadmill from Craigslist and I use it for shorter runs. For my longer runs, I am fortunate to have an 1/8…

Awwwww made me want to cry. I hope she sees the thumbs up and maybe, one day, it will keep her going when she needs it the most.
