Currently training for a Half and I am running 5 days a week. About 30 miles a week.

Sometimes I feel that way, too. Unfortunately, tracking is the only way for me to be accountable and honest about what I eat. It's so easy for me to say "eh, this is about 300 calories" and it ends up more like 700 if I check it out. LOL. I don't have good self-control and, for now, tracking is the only thing that keeps me…

I want to run a Half Marathon in under 2 hours. Even if it's 1:59.59 I'll be happy!

What a cute outfit ~ you will look great wearing it!

I've been here two years and NOW you tell me there's a gift shop?

Considering that quality shoes are the only investment you need to make into the sport of running, go ahead and spend more to get a decent pair. I recommend a running store that will evaluate your gait and offer you shoes that will work for you. A dependable store will work with you and give you choices. The employees at…

Congratulations on your awesome goal! I completed my first Half last May and am doing another one in September. I can't even explain the feeling you will have when you cross the finish line! The sense of accomplishment is unbelievable. All your hard work and dedication pays off and you will feel overwhelmed. Good Luck to…

If you would have gone into the liquor store instead of passing it, none of this would have happened. :drinker:

Congratulations! I just learned a lot from reading your post and seeing your pictures. I have been considering lifting and you just made it 1,000 times more interesting and attainable. Thank you for sharing! :)

I smoked for 26 years and used hypnosis to quit. I've been smoke free for 2-1/2 years and I know I will never smoke again. I have no desire to. I wish I would have tried hypnosis years ago but I really, really wanted to quit this time and that has A LOT to do with it. No matter what method you choose, you have to WANT to…

Congratulations! Any type of progress is a great motivator to keep going ~ I know from experience. LOL. Remember: slow and steady wins the race!

I completed c25k about a year and a half ago. The program I did was 12 weeks long and had me running three days a week. I started out by running two minutes the first day and I thought that was intimidating! LOL. At the end of the program, I did a 5K Turkey Trot with no problem at all. Since then, I have completed in 18 or…

Incredible! Thanks for sharing ~ you rock!

I had heard of people doing that, too. I just tied mine on tight and I was fine. :)

I am curious about starting, too. I appreciate all the advice here. I have no access to a gym. Is lifting something I can do at home? I have been currently lifting small weights and kettle bells to get started. Where should I go from there?

I hurt my right knee doing the 30DS. I was doing jumping jacks and must have not landed straight and twisted it. It took a long time to stop hurting so I would modify exercises so as not to strain it. I kept running which I know didn't help. When I do 30DS I don't do the jumping jacks now ~ I just do the arm motions and…

I like to eat, too. A lot. So, I exercise. A lot. It's the only way I can do it. LOL.

My medals are hanging on a corkboard by my laptop. I would like to eventually purchase an official medal holder. :)

Thanks ~ I needed that. I need to stop saying I "only" did a half. :)

This is my favorite answer.

Quite the opposite for me as my husband does 90% of the cooking. He's a great cook but always prepares fattening, high-calorie meals. I have two options. I can eat his meals and use portion control or make a separate meal for myself. Neither of us is offended and we're both happy. So, like many others here are saying, it's…
