  • Feel free to add me!! I'm a music major in my final year of undergrad, got down to 163 this year and have gained a little bit of it back, trying to get down to 145 eventually.
  • if you find out let me know! I don't have an HRM but I've been going twice a week for 45-50 minutes, and I have never had such a good workout! I usually log it as about 200...but I feel like I have to be burning more, but I try to estimate on the low end...
  • I agree with this, as long as you can use proper form completing the exercise then the dumbell weight is up to you. But be careful, when I did the 30 day shred almost a year ago I used 5 pound weights on the jumping jack portion of level three and ended up with a tear in my rotator cuff.
  • Hi everyone! I'm Rachel from Ohio, I'm 22 and currently in college studying voice performance (opera specifically). I'm 5'6'' and my starting weight was 185 lbs, I'm down to 163, and my goal is to be in the 140's, or to just look great at my size, hoping to lose at least 10 more pounds though before starting to maintain.
  • I LOVE chipotle, I get bowls with brown rice, black beans, half chicken/half steak, corn salsa, and cheese which is about 610 calories. It might be on the high end, but I REALLY like it so to me its worth it.
  • I just finished reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire which I hatedddd (not sure how they made it into such a good musical!) Now I'm reading Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul by Jason &Crystalina Evert. And how? Well Wicked and Never Let Me Go were paperbacks and How to…
  • My friends always say "why are you counting your calories" or "you don't need to lose any weight!!" but I'm still like "well...guys I am still about five pounds overweight...I'd like to be at a healthy weight" so frustrating sometimes.
  • I'm 22 feel free to add me!
  • OH and the money thing, I usually buy my meat on managers special or when it's on a really good sale. Veggies I usually try to buy a bag of carrots and a bag of spinach/cabbage (I'm working on finding more veggies I like), fruits I buy about a pound of bananas (they go bad really quickly in my apartment) and a bag of mixed…
  • I'm a full time student and I work part time. My biggest thing was actually learning how to eat better, not as much the exercise, but once I got my eating under control I felt better when I exercised. I usually exercise before I leave for work because I'm usually just too tired in the evenings. Getting up at 6, going to…
  • I'm planning to sautee some mushrooms, broccoli, and chicken breast in Colavita olive oil. Then also have some toast. Later in the night I'll have some mixed berries and a carrot for a snack :)
  • I've been trying a LOT of new veggies, found out that I absolutely love mushrooms, especially with beef and broccoli, PERFECTION! However, on this journey I also learned I am not fond of eggplant, eh you win some you lose some, we don't have to like everything :) I'm working on finding a salad dressing that I really love…
  • BE CAREFUL!! I'd try taking rest days or something, I did the 30 day shred and made it almost all the way through by "working through it" and ended up with a small tear in my rotator cuff and am now in physical therapy to try and repair the damage to my muscles. The 30 day shred CAN be a good workout, but you need to…
  • SO TRUE!!! I made a comment on a previous forum about the price diff between apples to chips, but that apples last at least a week and chips are gone after one television show. Yesterday I bought LOTS of healthy things and YES my bill was higher than usual BUT I bought a 10.00 bottle of extra virgin olive oil which will…
  • I almost always have a thin bagel (one half w/ natural grape spread, the other w/ natural peanut butter), a V8 fusion juice (only because I'm bad about eating veggies so I try to drink one a day or every other day), and a hard boiled egg.
  • I disagree, a bag of chips may cost .99 and a bag of apples 3.49, but a bag of chips lasts me an hour or two, and a bag of apples can last a week or longer. It's all about choices, stocking up during sales, and only buying what you will truly eat, also farmers markets are wonderful when they are happening!
  • I eat the whole egg now, I used to not like the taste of yolk, but since the yolk holds so many nutrients I make sure to eat the entire egg now, and it's a nice compliment to the rest of my breakfast.
  • When I first started I HAD to cut out bread entirely, because that was my true weakness, I could literally eat half a loaf of bread in a day, just because I loved the fluffy taste, but I had no idea how many calories I was really consuming OR how unhealthy it was making me. Last semester (August-December) I did not buy ANY…
  • I've always been told "You can't outwork a bad diet"
  • I have a pretty crazy school schedule w/ classes, rehearsals, and work but today my lunch/snacks consisted of: clementine, banana, cinnamon roasted almonds, a fiber one bar, a special k bar, a peanut butter sandwich (some days I pack turkey instead and I use 35 calorie wheat bread, natural peanut butter, and natural grape…
  • I use krazycouponlady.com But I do agree with one of the posters above, what they do on the show CAN happen, but its not realistic to happen EVERY week. I've made one huge haul in my time couponing, and a few times have paid nothing but sales tax, but I never clear shelves or buy more than I can realisticly use.
  • I think I'm going to need to spend some time on that website! And I agree, I'm sure restaurants load them with salt, I think I'll try making them fresh sometime soon to give it a go! Thanks!
  • There's a group on this site of people who aren't going to weigh in until Valentine's day!! You could always join a challenge like that one to help you stay motivated to not look for a while. I was getting frustrated so I joined that challenge to help me stay away and focus on just eating right and exercising and pray for…
  • I don't know if there is actually harm in diet sodas but I stopped drinking soda except when I'm on long travels, like when I drive 3 hours back to school and need some caffeine, but other than that after I stopped drinking them for about a week, I stopped craving them. But I never drank a lot of diet or regular soda,…
  • Today I brought a hamburger with cheese (no bread), greek yogurt, and a clementine. I also snacked on a fiber one bar, cottage cheese, and kiwi. Basically I take what I put inside a sandwich and just eat that, if the insides are good you'll enjoy them without the bread, I also like other granola/cereal/protein bars. Fruit…
  • ooo bump! been looking for something like this!
  • Current weight 165! Hoping to get down into the 150's (the healthy range for my height!!) but I think some time away from the scale will be nice, once I get back to school in a week I plan to drive less, eat better, and work out more! Excited!
  • I'm 22 with about 15-30 more to lose (looking to get into the healthy BMI and then see where I feel best). I'll add you :)
