  • I've got the auto tinting glasses and generally will run with them. I find I -have- to wear a buff, visor, or hat and I tuck the ends of the arms into whatever I'm wearing to stop them sliding off my face. I'll run with contacts and sunnies now and then, but I seem to have a habit of losing a contact if I try to rub sweat…
  • Thanks @WhatMeRunning I seem to be making good progress so far, but it's a long way to go.
  • Great you want to improve :) Next time, try slower than my target, or slow for me, slower than I would like. That way it's relative to you.
  • Speed is relative @brant710 all of us here are slow compared to the WR holders. Good work on your 5k! :)
  • The above broke me! I DNF'ed my second 100K at 50k. I never entered the 40 Miler as I'm now in recovery mode. Bunbury 50K is now down to 10K (to be done at a power walk, still aiming for sub 65min though) The 24hr and WTF100 are still on the calendar, but it is going to depend on my recovery. Nothing else is being…
  • Still niggled although no pain. So small improvement.
  • Hoping for test run #2 tonight. I know my issue isn't gone as I can still trigger the sensation, but hoping it might be ok for smaller runs. I was going to go last night, but somehow I strained one of the tendons associated with my big toe while I slept on Sunday night O.o So didn't feel wise to try and run on it.
  • @ftrobbie Although being broken sucks, I'm not badly broken so should be back running soon hopefully (Test run tonight) I must admit, dropping the pressure of my run streak and the stupid amount of races I had planned on entering has been a pretty big relief. I think once I'm back to running properly, I should have a…
  • Great work everyone, I'm still broken. Tested the ankle at parkrun and although it warmed out, I'm not happy that it hurt to begin with, and I know I don't have full range of motion yet. Oh well back to the power walking :)
  • Depends on so much(Temp, humidity, whether full sun or shaded etc) for the water, but generally if I think I'll be out over an hour. If I know there are water burblers along where I'll be running, then often I'll leave the water home too.
  • DNF for me..... pushed through to 50K for pikers bling though! I'll update later with a big recap. tldr: Tried to run 100K with a niggle.. failed and not smart to do!
  • If you finished the week, move on to the next :) I would only recommend repeating a week if you didn't manage to do the workouts.
  • Glad the new shoes are feeling good KRPolo! :) Ceci, hope all goes well when you start lifting your arm, glad you can still join in with your girls! Robbie Sounds like everything is going pretty well! I hate fast finish runs, I think more so than intervals and thus rarely do them *Bad taeliesyn!* Just a few short runs for…
  • That's a pretty good plan, and I think I ended up on something like that, after I finished Bridge to 10K.
  • I've got a goal of every Ultra in my state, at max distance for this year. Well excluding one, because it's fecking stupid! (50K SOFT Sand) So my stupid 'race' plan for the year is as follows. 23/1 ADU 100K (12:34:01) 5/3 Lark Hill Dusk till Dawn (100K) 28/3 WAMC 40 Miler 10/4 Bunbury 3 Waters 50K 8/5 Murray Marathon (If…
  • Howdy everyone! I'm still lurking around and reading all ya'lls exploits! Just been in a pretty deep funk since the 100K. Combination of post race blues and a few other things. I'm not sure if I'm on the way up yet, but I'm pretty sure I've stopped sinking :) Welcome brant and looseboy, follow the programs and you'll be…
  • Target race for the year is my first miler. WTF100 That's in September, between now and then I'm trying to hit all bar one local ultras, so averaging 1 per month. They're mainly being used as training runs and for experience though. My year is looking like 23/1 ADU 100K (12:34:01) 5/3 Lark Hill Dusk till Dawn (100K, might…
  • Howdy @cheliebee :) Jump on into the main discussion, it's where the activity it is :)
  • Depends on the model Ceci! And with some, how often you clear the memory :)
  • Except for my Tuesday social run, where I persevered, I've been stuck on my 2k a day since the Ultra. Legs are feeling pretty good, but a blister got infected and it hurts to walk , let alone run. Infection is clearing, so maybe next week I can start running properly again. I know the recovery time is doing my body good,…
  • Ok, mega post below, copy and pasted direct from facebook, except for a day change. So Saturday ran my first 100k event. I went into the event with a massive goal, but it wasn't too be. I've tagged a few people in this post, but it's no where near close to covering everyone who played a part in the day, so please don't…
  • I survived my 100K, and did a 2k recovery shuffled/limp/run thing this morning. Happy to post up my recap of the race, but it is LONG, so if ya'll want I'll copy it over.
  • Embrace the suck Ceci! ;) We all have bad runs now and then, honestly I suffered on my 5.5k yesterday to where I was marshalling for the race. I was a little glad when I came across a friend, when I heading back in that wasn't doing so well. So I had a good excuse to slow down and stick with her.
  • Good work Moyer (and SD) and Ceci! There will be live tracking fro my race :) http://my5.raceresult.com/44766/?lang It's currently untested, but all going well, that should be the link :)
  • I'll find out. It's the same organiser as the Track Ultra I did, so I think there is a chance. :)
  • Life is good, still in an odd mental place though, I think it's the taper. Glad nearly everyone's running is going well :) Hope things come back on track for you MM 2k of medium intensity tonight. Averaged 4:45 pace, which is a bit slower than I had hoped for, but it was also a little close to dinner for a good push. 8…
  • Bugger about the surgery Ceci, hope it does the trick!@ Continuing the plan is a good idea and then just wind back a few weeks after you've got the OK to run again and keep pushing forward! Welcome @MimiOfTheLusciousLawn Glad to see you here now :) Hope all is going well for everyone. I'm trying to at least read even if…
  • Not the IM comparison, but I feel the same way about a marathon vs an Ultra. Technically I've never ran a marathon and I'm not in a hurry to do so. Having my first attempt at 100k in a few weeks time though.
  • If you're adding in another day, for speed work, add it in as an easy run first, then turn it into speed a few weeks later. Adding distance & speedwork at the same time is asking for issues. You should be ok to add 5k on Monday with your hills, but take it easy for the first few weeks, and then start working the hills :)…
  • Great running everyone! Sounds like things are going well, even as we head into the silly (slack) season! I had my trail run(race) on the weekend, and am still both over the moon with my result and totally stunned by it. Earlier this year, this race had actually been intended to be my first Ultra, I was going to go run it…
