It's a close tie between lays chips or sweets. I'll admit to having two donuts on my "off" day.

Keep up the awesome work!!

That is amazing progress! You might still have a ways to go but focus instead on how far you've come and the things you couldn't do before. Maybe break out the before and now pictures so you can see the difference. I do agree with focusing on smaller goals (5-10 lbs) instead of the overall picture.

What macros are you tracking? I only count calories and make sure I have more protein than carbs so I'm not used to being super strict. What about just counting calories for now? You'd still keep on track but give yourself a break in the others? Or maybe keep tracking your macros but allow yourself a "free" day where you…

I've had plantar facitiis off and on. I found stretching ALOT really helps. Sit on the floor with your legs straight out, wrap a hand towel or long sock around the balls of your foot and then gently pull...you should feel the stretch in your calf and foot. Do that several times a day and it should help. Also, invest in…

My husband feels like he lost his "food buddy". I had to remind him that we eat the same thing for dinner, I just eat less of it now and try to balance my carbs with protein/fruits/vegetables. He know Saturday's are my "free" days but he sometimes gets a little cranky about my tracking during the week...specifically if I…

Try Greek yogurt, which has more protein than regular, and add a tablespoon of either chia seeds or peanut butter to your yogurt (and some sweetener if you need it). That combo keep me full for a few hours, whereas regular yogurt doesn't do much. That, and drink water with the meal.

Here's the program I used..it seemed the most realistic... http://www.everydayhealth.com/infographics/run-your-first-5k/

That's an awesome goal! I was around 265 when I decided to get healthy and set a goal to run a 5k as motivation to stay active. So, at 265 I started the couch to 5k and completed the 5k in May. I picked the Moonlight Bootlegger's run...you run on a trail in the dark and get two glasses of moonshine when you're done!…

I have PCOS too and found weights work the best for me. You could always do both, as long as you don't over do it. If you only pick one then my opinion is start with weights; it'll tone you, it's better for your PCOS and the calorie burn lasts longer than cardio alone. When I first started I worked out 5 days a week and…

Either at home or in the covered console in my car.

I've been battling lower back pain since June and have been seeing a PT since September (she diagnosed it as sciatica). When the pain was really, really bad the only thing I did was count it as exercise if I walked more than a total of 3 miles throughout the day. Since then it's gotten better but I still have flare ups.…

Great work! You look amazing!

I've been doing low carb for the past year and it's second nature now. I make sure to eat more protein than carbs and limit the carbs to one meal a day. I allow myself one "free"day where I don't record what I eat and eat whatever I want; it gets a little crazy sometimes but it works. So far I've lost 45 pounds in 50…

My husband thinks the same thing. He refuses to sacrifice what he likes for "diet food" and thinks working out will work; it's what he's done in the past and it worked for him then. I have to be somewhat strict on what I eat AND excercise just to lose weight (just watching food intake doesn't work for me). It's resulted in…

I love the support section! Feel free to add me!

I have a similar story. I kept gaining weight and couldn't figure out why I gained 20 pounds in a few months or why I was having serious digestive problems. My PCP finally diagnosed me with PCOS and put me on metformin. This happened in 2010. My endocrinologist said insulin resistance is because I have PCOS so he continued…

Such great inspiration!

Holy Moses! I've lost about 45. That's a hard image to get my head around. It's just so nasty.

I tried the flexitarian approach but it didn't work well. I have PCOS so I need a more high protein/low carb diet and trying to make that work on a vegetarian diet was definitely challenging. I was really tired and run down when I started and it seemed to take awhile for myself body to adjust. Also, it seemed to really…

I've been in physical therapy for two months for sciatic nerve pain and, like you, couldn't stand for long periods of walk a lot so I completely understand your frustration with being sedentary. If you can tolerate it, and if your physical therapist gives the ok, I found doing the stationary bike helped me...not the one…

Great post! I went in expecting a lot of unsolicited advice from the guys and was pleasantly surprised they just left me alone. I haven't quite mustered up the nerve to ask for someone to spot me though.

I do weights then 30 minutes of cardio. I wouldn't have any energy left if I did cardio first. I've seen more results doing it this way than when I was just doing cardio.

Only if I go to the gym after work otherwise no makeup since I sweat to much!

It was the one where you hold the free weight and lift the arm straight out from the side (sorry, can't remember the techincial name). I usually work all three parts of the shoulder and haven't had problems in a long time. The pain is in the front part of the shoulder and "under" the side of the shoulder.

I workout between 5-6 days a week. I do four days of weights and 5-6 days of cardio. On the days I don't lift I'll do 45 minutes of cardio and on the days I do lift I do 30 minutes. I've been doing this almost and month and have seeing some great results!

I eat the instant with blueberries, raisins, about a 1/2 cup skim milk and a few chopped walnuts and it holds me for a long time. If I don't add milk then I'll have an egg white for some protein. I love the steel cut but it takes forever and I am not a morning person. :) Hope it helps!

Born and raised in Brighton/Howell! I moved to Arizona last year and really, really miss the water and trees so I'm looking at moving back!

I have bursitis in my right hip and it's so frustrating. It recently flared up and I took about 800 mg of aspirin, stretched ALOT and iced it. It did eventually get better. I was doing stairs when it first acted up and doing all of the above helped me continue to do stairs. I hope something helps!

I've been weight lifting for about three months and I usually do 3 sets of 6-10 a piece. Here's where I'm at now: flat bench chest press- 85 pounds (this includes the bar) bicep machine curl- 55 lat pulldown- 70-90 skull crushers(triceps)- 40 shoulders- 40 My husband has been doing weights forever and he said if I can only…
