  • Think yourself lucky; your dream is currently my waking nightmare- got to get back on track!
  • I'm really hoping that this is some pathetic joke. If not, dump them both as they deserve so much better than you.
  • My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry that your mum dumps on you in this way, have you ever confronted her over this? I self-medicate with food so totally understand how you deal with the hurt, however I am sure that we are both aware that we don't have to deal with pain in this way. I was once told to imagine that…
  • bump as I have recently settled at 75 dose of levothyroxine per day and my weight is still steadily increasing despite 3 long dog walks a day....doctor says blood tests fine so on right levels. I am intrigued as to why you would need to take the meds in the night- I take mine when I come downstairs in the morning and eat…
  • Good for you- what a fantastic weight loss! I often have one of their ready made shakes for breakfast when I don't feel like eating as they are delicious! Keep up the excellent weight loss- I am very jealous as I am currently doing very badly! x
  • Your name made me laugh as it is just what I said to myself this evening. I have been on here for 15 months and weigh more than I did at the beginning. Interestingly within the past year my thyroid has been found to be really low and I was put on thyroxine- yippee, I thought, now the weight will fall off. Uh oh!! Big fat…
  • When I was 18 a male friend (who I quite fancied) told me that I would be really pretty if I lost some weight. I was hardly huge, no more than a stone and a half overweight.....I was gutted....... Another crazy thing a man said to me, just a few months later, was could he book a hotel room one afternoon for the two of…
  • Assuming your profile picture is you with a child and your schedule is different due to them being at home for summer holidays, maybe just incorporate more exercise into your day with your child eg swimming, a game of football together, a long walk and a picnic etc etc? Have fun! x
  • I am 45 and always think that taller, cuddlier men look like they would protect a girl and really care for her so I would prefer them! A really fit man might catch my eye but I wouldn't want to live with him as he may be rather more obsessed about his own body than taking care of me! x
  • I don't think actual age really matters; sharing the same faith (or not) makes one have similar values etc so would automatically make them more compatible; as for pleasing your gran, well I guess that that depends on how much you value her advice. Has she generally been a wise lady who has made good choices? If so, then I…
  • Funnily enough I have just seen a fab programme about this today called 'Fat, sick and nearly dead' about a man's discovery of juicing. It worked so well for him that he encouraged others to do it too and the results were really positive. Maybe look up the programme and see if it helps you decide. Good luck xxx
  • Maybe you are in some way have an addiction to them so if you could be really strong and stay off them for a few days you may find the craving lessens.......? Additionally you could put the money aside that you would spend on these foods and then treat yourself to something really nice instead... Make sure you are eating…
  • A superviser of mine, many years ago, used to always use the promotional stickers to hold up the hems of her skirt as a permanent fixture, which I always thought was bizarre. Mind you, she used to pick her nose and wipe it in her curly hair which was also very strange behaviour for a lady in her twenties/thirties! x
  • post as same!
  • bump as I am also slowly gaining weight
  • I am sure that you CAN do it.....just remember that you are doing it for YOU and not to prove anyone else right or wrong. Take a deep breath, plan your meals and shop accordingly, ensure you have no tempting foods in the house and go for a walk each day. Take each day at a time and be kind to yourself if you mess up one…
  • I will watch this thread with interest as, despite logging my food and exercise daily for over a year, my weight has still increased gradually. An underactive thyroid was diagnosed and I am now on thyoxine which I thought would turn my life around. However, the joint pains and chronic fatigue continue and I have now been…
  • I've only just closed my diary after having it open for over a year. I guess that it's due to a few factors: Embarrassment as I wasn't doing great and, whilst I might still be in my calorie allowance, my food choices went out of the window and I felt embarrassed at some of the crap that I was eating. Additionally I was…
  • This is a wonderful success story. As a partially recovered bulimic, it is so good to read your story. Thanks for sharing and I wish you a long happy, healthy life x
  • When you say you find it hard to find low-fat meals, do you mean you are buying ready prepared meals? If so, it is so much cheaper to make your own from scratch- pastas with tomato based sauces, omelettes and salads, stir fried noodles and vegetables, jacket potatoes with baked beans and salad etc (sorry, but I'm…

  • This is so encouraging, thanks for posting x
  • bump as I am currently discussing this with my beautiful 15 year old daughter for whom food and weight is a very emotional subject; I empathise with you xxx
  • I eat too many times a day and that is probably why I am overweight!
  • ....you do actually have a very pretty face and you sound as though you have a lovely heart too. I wish you all the best with your journey and hope that, with support from here, you will feel absolutely amazing when you get married. Remember that a journey begins with a single step......take that step and just keep walking…
  • I have sent you a friend request. Don't give up......no matter how hard it is we do need to keep going x
  • He has indeed broken your trust again and I think you should know what you should do. Value yourself, you are worth more than this, do you really want a whole life with a man whom you are unable to trust? Will he be with you through the difficult times? If you become ill? Will he treat you like a princess or just take you…
  • Wow- how fascinating! Thank you to everyone who commented on the magnesium link. As a confirmed chocoholic I shall be doing some further research on this....... x
  • As you have such a small amount to lose and it seems to be pockets of fat, I would suggest that you look at the threads on BMR/TDEE for an idea of how many calories you should be eating, then maybe concentrate on exercises for those specific areas. Good luck! x
