So you allow fitbit to factor in your calories gained from exercise and do not put your own in at all via MFP? Do you have a fitbit that tracks HR? I just have the zip so any calories tracked are an estimate based on height/weight/gender/steps taken.

Height 5'7" Starting weight 160 (March 2015) Current weight 145 Goal weight 135 Exercise - walking, elliptical, chasing my almost 2 year old around :) Diet - lots of protein, lower carb (not no carb by any means!), fruits/veggies. trying to eat nothing processed, less sugar.

I am just catching up on this thread that I started a few weeks ago. Glad to see so many of you like it! I have been drinking a glass of wine a day, and I do what is needed to make sure it fits into my calories :) I've lost 6 lbs since Jan 5 so it's working!

I love you all! :) I think I'll still try to not drink some nights, but I do think I'll have a glass of red wine with dinner most nights -IF it fits. And good tip about the sugar ... I'll try to be under my sugar goal by a bunch on the days I have a drink!

I have been eating 2 slices turkey breast (natural, no added nitrates) and 2 egg whites when I get home, and it's been satisfying me until dinner (we eat late, around 8, because of my husband's work schedule, my workout schedule and my son's bedtime).

My fave protein powder is Vitamin Shoppe's bodytech whey tech pro 24, in rich chocolate. I drink it with cold coffee and add 1 tbsp of cocoa powder (10cals) and it's awesome. I have been having it as breakfast lately with milkwise milk and PB2, too. They have sample packets, too so you can try a bunch before buying a huge…

I have a problem with snacking before dinner too. I have been drinking a protein shake around 3:30-4:00 to help curb cravings. It helps a lot. I don't usually eat dinner until 8 and I used to snack a lot. Not buying the food you love will help too. I used to have lots of cheese in the house and I would eat a lot when I got…

Thank you kami3006 for that video. I will start weighing more things!

I am 5'7" BTW

Haha yes I am a female. BMR is 1550. TDEE is 2100. 20% less than that is 1680, without exercise. DailyBurn says the workouts I am doing will burn abour 350-400 cals - I do not know if I am burning that much, or more, so I am alloting less (I will say I burned 300 if DB says I burned 350, etc) to be on the safe side. I have…

My diary is public if anyone would like to take a look.

This. I have a one year old and am trying to lose some baby weight, and a little gained beforehand while going through miscarriages. I am counting calories and doing a DailyBurn program. Look into it - it has all sorts of programs and some are only 15 min. a day. I have had time fitting it in but now I am dedicated to it…

Thanks. My marinades are homemade, not processed, and I guess I could see what is in each one - as in, 2 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, etc - but my thinking is that so little is actually consumed with each serving that it'd be hard and time consuming to track.

HI all - just joined the group and wanted to say hi here. Chesves, I love your outlook too, and you sound like me. So much going on, not sure when I'll fit in more meal prep (I already do a lot) but what I've been doing - counting calories and trying to walk more, with a little bit of structured exercise when I can - is…

I tried the chocolate shake a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how terrible it was. I drink pure protein and body tech (vitamin shoppe) shakes and they are amazing compared to shakeology. do not waste your money.

I am there too. I do not feel I have a problem at all, and I do not think anyone else would either. I can have one glass of wine at night during the week, but I feel like this one glass is stopping me from losing what I want to lose - but as much as I say "I will not drink during the week," I wind up having a glass at…

I used to drink amaretto and soda (club soda) - they are 160cals each. Not terrible.

37 years old with an 8 month old son and 3 miscarriages prior to his birth. I am currently 159 (or so the scale said today) and wearing a size 8-10. bust size WAS a 34B/C before breastfeeding - after weaning I think I'm a 34A. Not sure of my hip and waist measurements. Goal is 140lbs for now but for my wedding 6 years ago…

Hi girls. I had my son in June. I didn't start tracking until January, after I weaned - I wish I had been as smart as you all. I lost all my baby weight almost immediately (45lbs), due to water retention while pregnant and breast feeding (I believe). When I was on maternity leave I was eating whatever I wanted, drinking 3…

My thoughts exactly. I agree with some of what you have said, OP, but some of it is off base. If I had put in the effort I am now when I was 18, I'd lose weight quickly too. But I'm not. I'm 37 with a 8 month old, a demanding job, two dogs, a pile of laundry and dishes and a husband who works long hours. Squeezing in 30…

I just started drinking protein shakes to help me stay fuller longer. I am doing them for breakfast and I have been buying pure protein rich chocolate or bodytech pro tech in chocolate and vanilla. Tastes very good. I esp love the pure protein one like this: 6oz coffee (i use flavored, creme brulee hazelnut) 4oz skim milk…

I am doing beginner shred. I started about 2 weeks ago and did level 1 for 14 days - not every day though, maybe 5x a week, but I didnt do it 10 times because I felt that it was getting easy towards the end. I wasn't doing it with weights though. I got 4lb weights on Sunday though and did level 2 afterwards - big…

Thanks loratliff. I've decided that it's easier for me to forgo the tea or coffee with sugar in the am than to abstain from that glass of wine at the end of the day. Both are rituals of course and I need neither, but because I'm drinking a protein shake with coffee in it, I can get away with not drinking it hot too. At…

I added a post that said I eat about 1500 after exercise. I track macros through MFP and I'm usually eating about 100-120g of protein per day and am lower than MFP suggests on carbs and fat.

Thank you - I have been trying to do 80/20 too. Love the quote from your coach too!
-
Thank you - I did not know this!

Wow, lots of good info here. Let me clear some things up though. 1. I'm using 1200 cal/a day before exercise as my goal, as set by MFP, to help me lose 1.5lb/week. I could change it to 1lb/week. I track exercise here (jillian michaels and also things like cleaning, carrying the baby, etc) and eat those calories I gain, so…

I am doing the beginner shred workouts now, started about 2 weeks ago. I am not seeing any results yet - I am also eating healthier - but I do like them and I like that they are 20 minutes. I had a baby 8 months ago and have a tummy I really want to see get smaller. Hoping to lose 20lbs by July 1.
