  • I am not going to say don't worry people won't judge you - because people will. HOWEVER, they will see that you are trying. I worry more about going out to eat. In my mind, everyone at the restaurant is saying "damn, don't you think you should put the fork down and hit the gym?!?!".... My point, you can't let the fear of…
  • I quit in Novemeber (for the third time). I had quit two other times on Chantix, but I quit because I found it too hard to date as a smoker - so I quit for the wrong reason. This time I quit for myself. I actually stopped using the Chantix right after I quit (even though you are supposed to keep using it). I just kept…
  • I am down... which is good, but I don't know if it because it just took a while for my body to wake up, because I up'd my protein, or because I up'd my calories... if felt like a bad week, but ended with good number... whatever works I guess...
  • I have this issue too... I think it is my body's way of rejecting the food and reminding me to stay on track! I have internet on my phone and will go on the nutrition site of any restuarant I am going to, just to see what the healthier choices are - because salad isn't always the best choice!
  • My best friend is on this, and swears by it. She eats healthier than she ever has, and has lost 20 pounds in 20 days. She hasn't had any side effects, and she has cheated. She tried talking me into doing it, but I can't drop my calories that far - I like food too much. When I complain about not losing weight, she reminds…
  • No way that I can do the naked tenders - I can't do it knowing the sodium... and I really don't wanna order a salad. Looks like I will order boneless with sauce on the side... I can handle the fat, but not the sodium
  • Thank you for everyone's input... I was thinking that I was losing my mind, but glad to see I wasn't.
  • do the diet coke cake but in cupcakes... then put a post it note near by so everyone that is on a diet knows that it is a lower calorie "treat"... we all need chocolate sometimes, and this really helped mine...
  • I love these. I get the western with egg white. Low calories, and soduim is about 620 - not that bad. On Friday, our Subway does BOGO, so I bring in one for my co-worker also... she gets it without cheese, but I allow myself the extra calories and get the cheese :)
  • I actually have an excel sheet on my computer with all the final numbers on it. And it totals on Thursday night, since I weigh in on Friday mornings. This was I can see what my calorie deficet was for the week and how it compares to what I am actually down, SO I look at the weekly total all together....
  • I am trying to eat at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and a snack about 8:30pm... then only time I get hungry really is before my 3pm snack....
  • My ex husband (but still my best friend) knows, and has always known. When we started dating 10 yrs ago, we were both at 145. I started gaining weight, and he still said I was sexy. It wasn't until this past year (after we got divorced) that he said that I was actually looking fat. I know he said it because he cares and…
  • I have decided that it is my favorite breakfast place now... western on enish miffin with egg white... YUM! For lunch or dinner, I stick with a chicken breast salad, but avoid the cheese, black olives and dressing --- yes, I have it PLAIN! However, back before I cared about what I ate, I was 6" Spicy Italian or BLT, chips…
  • Just to be clear, I have cut out 90% of the pop. I used to drink at least 24 cans of Dr Pepper per week... So maybe it is that I am retaining water... guess I need to be patient (anyone know where to find patience?) LOL
  • Being able to buy a descent bra is one of my biggest reasons for wanting to lose weight. Off my measurements, I am a 40DD - but I can't find a bra that feels good and fits right. I spent an hours at Victoria's Secret and they had me try on 10 different sizes, 20 different bras, and even they agreed that they don't know…
  • I have always HATED to exercise. I was a couch potato all of my life. However, I joined Anytime Fitness two weeks ago, and LOVE IT. I can go 24/7, and it is small enough that it isn't a meat market. All the cardio machines have a tv on them, so you can watch whatever you want. I figure out a show that I want to watch at…
  • too funny - I was just telling someone tonight that my new "ice cream" is 1/2 cup of sugar free cool whip and 1/2 fresh strawberries... it does the trick for my sweet tooth and it tastes great :)
  • The way I was explained this is: I use 2200 calories a day in my every day life and I am only allowed 1200 because I want to lose weight (2200-1000=1200). So 1200 is my goal number each day. However say I burn 300 calories at the gym, then my goal for that day is actually 1500, because I need the extra calories that I used…
  • I guess...lol But In Cedar Rapids, we have the 5 smells (depending on what side of town you are on). We have the flooded district, about 10% of the cities houses are still needing to be torn down after the floods of 2008 destroyed 20% of the city. But since I am actually from California, the crime is much lower here…
  • What would you miss about Iowa? The hot *kitten* summers? Freezing winters? Oh, the spring floods? I can't wait to move closer to the ocean once all the kids are out of college :)
  • I just didn't know if ur resting heart rate matters in finding your fat burning target heart rate? If so, my target heart rate might be different than say someone whose resting heart rate is 70...
  • WOW - eye opener #2 tonight... I didn't realize that you could change which nutrients u track - well I added sodium and sugar.... gee, I might have found my probelm.... so back to the drawing board. I got the calories and carbs under control, now to work on the sugar and soduim! UUUGGGG
  • Maybe our bodies are in complete shock? But mine needs to snap out of it... my brother's wedding is at the end of June and I really need to look good! lol
  • I am eating alot of veggies, and although it was harder than counting my calories, I do have my carbs under the 165 that MFP suggests. I never add salt to anything, and I do look at the label to keep an eye on soduim. I don't like fish, but I have been able to do tuna (I know it doesn't really count). I eat chicken…
  • I know that 3300 calories is alot, that is how I gain all this weight. But for the last two weeks, I have cut out my pop, and I have a goal of 1200 calories (which I am normally within 100 of, yesterday was bad). Since I exercise daily, I do consume the calories that I burn, only because MFP adds this to my daily goal... I…
