Friday mornings because Saturdays are usually the day I relax a bit more and if I am going to treat myself that will be the day I do it and I like to have the full week to make sure I overcome any damage I may have done.

OH I hear you!! Extra weight that seems to want to stay with me, hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, mood swings ..... and the list goes on and on! I refuse to let the insane hormones have control, so I will win the war...it may take time but I will get there.

Hi Julia and welcome :flowerforyou: I know exactly how you feel, I am 47 and also only 5' (even though my hubby insists I am 4'11.5") and I am currently weighing in over 180!! UGH!! I lost a little over 30lbs a couple years ago and it has found its way back, and brought some friends with it I am afraid. So now I am…

Most days I have 2 or 3 servings of fruit. Usually berries, and apple or orange are my go to fruits, I also have a banana 2 or 3 times a week.

Oh so many things!!! But one of the things I would have to say I miss the most is fresh homemade brown bread!! I used to love making my own bread, and I have tried the GF recipes, but it just isn't the same. But like you it isn't worth how it makes me feel.

Will have to try this :)

Welcome!!

I got mine in May and LOVE IT!! I know it is small but I hook it to the front of my bra every morning, so I don't worry about losing it at all. It really does motivate you to move more and earn as many steps as possible in a day.

Hi - feel free to add me. I have just got back on track again and am making a point of being here everyday.

I am also gluten intolerant and every now and then I 'slip' thinking I am feeling fine so for some reason I feel like I need to "test" it. Always turns out to be a bad idea. Depending on what I have the symptoms may very. If I eat bread, cakes or pasties my stomach does not take long to let me know it is not happy with me.…

You have come to the right place. You will find lots of motivation, support and those willing to kick your butt when you need it  Feel free to add me if you like. And good luck!!

I know what you mean! I am 47 and people are shocked when they find out. When I have my grandsons out people look shocked when they call me Nana  My goal is to be a healthier and fit before I turn 48.

Thanks for sharing! I am doing more and more walking, and one day hope to start jogging/running. Right now I get cramps in my legs and feet, but I hope to get there one day soon!

The beautiful east coast here - New Brunswick!!

I used to straighten my naturally curly/wavy hair - but it never looked "right" and I got tired of fighting with it. Lately I have been using Mark Anthony's striclty curls. Shampoo and condition, apply curl cream or lotion and scrunch. If I need it to dry quicker I blow dry using a large defuser to "scrunch' it and just…

Just get up and do it!! You will feel so much better. I have been feeling the same way today. I only got a couple hours sleep last night, so I am feeling beyond lazy. But I forced myself to get out for my 5:30am walk, and I just returned from my noon hour walk. I feel so much better now, more awake and proud of myself for…

That has crossed my mind, but where I am that is much easier said than done. I know way to many people that can't get a Dr. here and the only way they can get to see one is by going to a clinic or the ER. I admit his bedside manner is aweful, but he does usually find out what is causing any symptoms I may have.

Welcome! This is a great place to help with your journey. I have been here for awhile now - on and off that is :ohwell: But I am back this time with a different outlook on my goals. I have decided no more 'dieting' I am adopting a healthier lifestyle, healthy food choices, move more and positive thinking! I know there will…

Hi everyone, I have been using MFP for awhile now - on and off, and have been losing and gaining the same few lbs over and over. I was pretty sure I was starting menopause with all the symptoms I was having, hot flashes, night sweats, irregular cycle, trouble sleeping, weight gain .....and on and on. So my Dr. finally…

I got one in May and LOVE it!! It really does keep me motivated and pushes me to move more and I challenge myself to get more steps each day. I also love how it syncs with MFP. I highly recommend it!! Enjoy

Hi Tammie, Welcome!! Wow you must be a very busy lady!!! 5 children  Feel free to add me if you like!

Thanks for the suggestion. I am struggling to not feel so frustrated so any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have started moving more and I am starting to notice a bit of difference. I also try to keep my sodium down, the issue I am finding is my sugar is always over the goal that MFP has set for me. I don't eat alot of…

Thanks. I am not sure I can go much lower with the calories. I am around 1200 a day, do I need to make that lower? I do not eat bread as I have a gluten intolerance, so lunch most days is a sald and then some kind of salad or veggie dish with protein at supper. I also recently cut out my evening snacking thinking that…

We recently went out for a co-workers retirement lunch (he also is celiac) and so we let him choose the place. We are in eastern Canada, and he chose Pizza Delight. They now do GF pizza, garlic fingers and quite a few other GF options. The pizza and garlic fingers were very good!!!
