  • Good plan doing this! The money grab by MFP is awful. they annual fee is high. Gotta admit I'm not that loyal to MFP. I'm headed over to loseit where i can still get the bar code reader for free and their annual fee for premium is $20
  • I view it as a money grab. Their annual fee is so high also.
  • VERY disappointed in this decision. Money grab on new owners part. premium cost is too high IMO. I've had this app for 11 years....
  • VERY disappointed in this decision. Seems like a money grab to me. Make the free app less desirable. The premium price is too high IMO. I have had this app since Aug, 2011
  • SAME. Money grab. They announced this past week they were giving away premium memberships to “underserved” people. Guess they have to make up the money somewhere.
  • I read a very conclusive 10 year study that showed people who ate a daily serving of greens had the least occurences of dementia. That study stuck with me. I would think that a meat diet would lack in nutrients. At the least it doesn't sound sustainable for the long run.
  • You guys are killing me :) where the heck do you all live? I have never heard of: Kabocha, celerac, jackfruit, mulukhiyah, dragon fruit, Ottolenghi. Are you sure you aren't making some of this up? Where i live there are the basics: carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, greens, asparagus, squash, green beans, snow peas, brussel…
  • Lindt Chocolate balls (dark chocolate)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I bike trained quite a bit last summer (1,200 miles) and then rode a 5 day 300 mile event over Labor Day. after that ... i was quite a slug! Now I feel like I am starting over. Why oh why did i do so little over the winter!! I would like to do the event again but this time doing their harder route! This route is 330 miles…
  • Huskydoo - you must live in michigan! that is my exact weather.
  • I have an entry level Trek that I used on a 300 mile five day trip (my first ... very proud of myself). however, what i really want to share is the Schwinn Twinn from the 1970's! My son and I rode it on an organized 10 mile bike ride. Let me tell you that was 10 HARD miles. That old bike must weigh 100 pounds. My husband…

  • This discussion takes me back to my old WW days. They would allow any food as long as it fit in your point (calorie) allotment for the day AND you still fulfilled the nutritional requirements for the day. My friends and I would ask each other if a certain food was "point worthy". The thought process still holds today: is a…
  • I too am in that boat! Lost about 25 over 18 months, gained about 16 back in 4 months (Jan - April). I'm back at it: logging/weighing/measuring/pre-planning/NO sugar/exercising. Why oh why do i lose at a rate of about 1/2 per week, but gain at a rate of about 1 pound per week. NO FAIR!
  • My husband's 4 sisters are all sleep eaters, just to different degrees. One had it diagnosed as a sleep disorder. However they all have long histories of this not isolated incidents. There are many hilarious stories when you get the 4 of them comparing notes. Best wishes to you!
  • Oh and OP ... best wishes on your journey to health and fitness ... whatever path you choose!
  • i am betting that it ends up to be a whatever-works-for-you type of thing. For me fasting is torture. I constantly think and obsess about food. Just what i need ... to think MORE about food! haha. Remember the old days when they advised to eat within an hour of waking up ... I found this to be burdensome. I get up at 5:30…
  • I'm with you dtobio! I'm back after a hiatus. It was really just a slow drift into old habits. Congrats on the baby!
  • "Active April" ... Love it! My week one goal (since it is already 4/5, really this is a two day goal, but that is ok, i gotta start somewhere!!!!) 1. Record faithfully 2. Exercise 30 minutes today and tomorrow.
  • Holy Moly ... that looks delicious!! So cooked about 20 ish minutes (?) at what temp
  • awesome results! Time for a new purse or pedicure or highlights or some other reward! (or all 3 lol!) Keep up the fantastic work!
  • What a great community we have here! I am a low-carb person, not keto. I regularly enjoy an oatmeal breakfast. I limit myself to 1-2 grains per day but not white flour. My favorite breakfast is 1/2 c. old fashioned oats, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1 cup sugarfree almond milk, about 8 almonds, 6 oz fruit (raspberries!). I eat this…
  • I agree with what this person said. I try to find foods that keep me filled. If I eat a bagel I will be hungry soon after. Oatmeal, chia seeds (just discovered those recently), about 10 almonds, berries will keep me full until lunch. I have successfully found that eating little to no sugar/white flour works very well for…
  • Ladies - I'm 54, still regular as always. Make 'em stop! The menstruation goddess has always found humor in giving me a period at the most inopportune times - tent camping, hiking, Seabase with a bunch of boyscouts, scuba trips, all day sailing (w/no bathroom), skiing, etc! She can be mean!
  • Oh boy ... of course everyone is different and will react different to different ways of eating. I have successfully lost weight through WW and even got to goal. The whole group-therapy approach is very effective for many people. Also facing that woman who weighs you and writes your weight down every week was super…
  • Good for you!! Time for a new purse or manicure or pair of boots or some other (non-food) treat! Keep it up!
  • I'm the same. I compare it to cigarettes too. I cannot just have a little bit of sweets. It just makes me want more - it wakes up the cravings. I try to tell myself I'll have a little and then i'll be satisfied. ohmygod no! it just makes me want more and more. I've read here a couple times about people getting sick when…
  • Ex WW'er also. While I don't dislike the program and the "group therapy" aspect is appealing to many, the calorie counting method here works better for me. I haven't done WW for quite some time but I still will wonder to myself if something is point-worthy!
  • November goals: 1 - no white sugar 2 - no white flour 3 - log everything everyday 4 - Lose 4.6 pounds by 12/2. I have a side bet with a friend that I will be 159.6 on 12/2/2016 (or i have to pay her $20 - haha) 11/7/2016: 164.2 11/15/2016: 162.8 11/22/2016: 11/29/2016: Been hanging in there with the no flour/no sugar way…
  • NSV - I just bought a pair of skinny jeans. Always wanted them but never thought they looked good on me. Now I'm down 22 pounds and I'm ROCKIN the skinny jeans and boots! 14 more pounds to my goal weight. I am jazzed up on my no sugar/no flour lifestyle!
