If you don't have a foot doctor tell you that you need support and makes them to fit your foot -- throw them out. Watch your movements and stride. Are you running flat surface? or hills? Both will change your stride. Listen to your body and watch how you run. That will help your knee lots.

I didn't do my first marathon till I was 60. Looking forward to a great report at the finish line. There is nothing like crossing the finish line on your first marathon. Good Luck

weight lifting and core work will bring the inches down

surgery is not a tool. You learn nothing and I know several folks that have simply gained the weight back as the skin just stretched right back out. Learn to eat healthy and exercise first.

You should put the treadmill one level up when you run. That will be more of a natural run gate. You may need to slow down for intervals and then speed back up, It has nothing t do with the treadmill, you are pushing your body to reach a faster run and this will happen. Good luck with your running

Make sure your dinner includes protein. That will make you feel fuller. Drink water and that also will fill that empty spot. If you do require a snack make sure it is low calorie. Or increase the calories in your dinner and lower for lunch.

you are underweight for your height. I have not seen the picture but as a certified personal trainer I would not like my client to be that thin. BUT as long as you feel good and eat healthy ????? Seriously look in the mirror from the neck down. What do you see? curves or skin and rib bones? If you doctor says you are ok --…

yes we are here to lose weight and eat healthy. If you go in with the knowledge you can watch to make sure they are careful with the servings. and don't eat the whole thing

I don't eat there that often. When I do it is on my day that I can have more calories. I never can finish what they give me

Mine is actually slower than others posted. I seem to be almost a minute per mile slower on the marathon. Then the last 6 miles I can run faster than my tempo pace. I keep saving to much to the end. I have yet to learn to balance my tempo and miles. As long as I finish and in a time that is acceptable to me -- I'm ok with…

slow down the training. Run 1-2 miles at a time and when comfortable with your success - increase mileage. If you go to far to fast you burn out. More information as to how far, how long have you been running, how many miles a week ect. would be needed to do a just evaluation.

Hard to believe

You'll do fine. Enjoy the race. Fall is a great time to run!!!

That would be Star Wars and Dirty Dancing

When I started out 15 min mile was my best. After a few years you learn to relax and enjoy yourself. It takes the pressure off. Just remember it is not how fast you run but that you are running. Do not compare yourself to others -- there is always someone out there that is faster. Just keep going at whatever pace you are…

I wear a road ID bracelet plus my phone has emergency numbers set to go. I don't have medical issues (yet) and I always want to be ready just in case. Always a good idea to have at least the road ID.

my goal will be at least 65 miles per week. My TRI is the end of the month and I have been pushing to make sure my knees are in shape for the bike and the run. I was able to do 68 last week and will push for that number again this week. Everyone have a great ride

New phase in your daughters life. Make sure to encourage her and smile and talk up school. After she leaves -- then you can cry. What you feel is just what we have all felt when our child is no longer a baby but a big kid in school.

Keep your head up and looking forward. Breath through your nose till you need to mouth breath. if you are having trouble breathing when doing walk or slow jog, you might want to check with your doctor before proceeding. Don't over-think this

Besides not carrying around a 50 pound bag of whatever, I feel better and have more confidence in myself. I know I am doing the right thing and am very happy with my results. I love going for my checkup and they check the resting pulse and say -- that's right you are a runner.

I'm here for you. I went from 245 and down to 171. Want to drop to 165. The road has been long and I have bounced up and down several times. MFP is the best thing I have done and the encouragement I get is amazing.

when your body goes in to survival mode it holds on to calories. Eat more balanced calories and don't weigh or measure yourself every day. Give it time and keep eating healthy and working out and it will come off

restrictive and I don't think I could follow it. I guess it would be really hard since I don't like cabbage cooked!!! I have heard of others that used it as a jump start to get going

genetics of a pear shap won't change. As you lose weight you will get smaller all over. Unfortunately the legs can be toned through weights and biking/running they will never be those legs thin shapely legs you see in pictures. You are you and through diet and exercise you will become a better you. be proud of yourself and…

well said kgeyser. I feel you covered it very well. I don't expect to weigh what I weighted in high school!!!! My God we were kids not adults. Life changes your body and as long as you take care of yourself and eat healthy - that's the main thing. As for not responding, I just tripped across this and am definitely not a…

We will see this occasion. The site is a great place to teach yourself new eating habits and gain support along the way. Negative people are not needed, but constructive advice is always welcome. Comments are not a personal attack on you, they are personal opinions of the writer.
