My first HRM was a Timex, and I loved it but have since upgraded to a Garmin. The Timex is still going strong...I sold it to a friend who uses it religiously. She just recently replaced the chest strap (which considering the thing has been used everyday for the past 3 years...I would say isn't too bad---the new strap cost…

I go through a beachbody coach for my Shakeology and through a selling agent for my Nutrimeal/USANA products.

Thanks for posting to this. I think it can be helpful. Seasoning mixes are tough. I have taken to seasoning myself, these days. But I never would have guessed in taco seasoning!

So, I would like to start road biking. I am enjoying my spin class so much that I go 3 times/week. And now that the weather is changing, I am starting to think it may be time to purchase some new wheels. Suggestions? I like Trek bikes - have owned a mountain bike and beach cruiser (7-speed) all made by Trek that kept me…

Oh yes...when I am glutened I am bloated beyond all belief. And uncomfortable, unable to focus, generally I have a headache too. My stomach usually hurts and I feel not well.

I glutened myself too. I feel terrible. My stomach is in knots and I feel bloated, sick, and gassy. Here's to staying gluten free today!

I made a great homemade g-f cake this year for my birthday. It was delicious. here is the recipe... http://www.food.com/recipe/one-bowl-gluten-free-chocolate-cake-209764 It is super easy. I used coconut oil in my version. But I am not sure that made it any better. Next time I make it, I would add chocolate chips to the…

Ooooo...I will have to try the mulit-grain version. So glad someone else has tried them.

My family avoids my gluten free-ness at all costs as well. I get a lot of "Well, we left the meat out of the lasagna." Yea..it only took 15 years of being a vegetarian to get them to do that! I figure, by the time I am 45 they may be able to understand gluten-free and dairy-free. It's your birthday. Do what you want with…

MissVC have you tried the Tofutti brand sour cream for your mashed potatoes? Oh man! No lie on the pizza! I am also gluten free and talk about feeling a major gaping hole in my life. Grew up in Chicago, eating amazing pizza every Friday with my Dad. Now, I make a d-f and g-f version. It is good, but it certainly is NOT the…

Food for Life brown rice english muffins are AMAZING. I used to be a Udi's brand gal, but not once I tasted one of these little gems. Enjoy, my g-f peeps!

Quick look at your diary...we all have tough days. I hear you; I had to battle my family and their concern with my nutrition. Next time you make nachos...add some black beans for protein maybe? Or some Boca crumbles cooked with cumin...

I totall agree with syntonics probiotics! I usually take one/day but tend to double that when I have indulged.

There are supplements out there that have enzymes to help digest gluten. If I end up with symptoms/have ate some gluten or drank a normal beer I usually take two of these supplements, load up on peppermint tea, and ride it out. I would say it takes about 2-3 days for me to feel completely better. It helps if I eat fresh…

I have been at a conference the past two days for work. Talk about being overcome by dairy; it was in everything! I should have talked to the catering staff and asked for a cheese free salad. My stomach is royally messed up; so, it looks like I will have to get with the people at my next conference and make a special…

Check out the Elana's Pantry website for breakfast options that are high in protein. She bakes/cooks gluten free with almond flour. Generally the recipes use more eggs and yield products that are high in protein, low glycemic, and delicious.

It has evolved over the years. When I became a vegetarian at 14 years old, it was because of a PETA pamphlet showing the conditions of meat processing. Since then, I no longer rely on PETA's viewpoints. Now, it is because of the high rate of heart disease in my bloodline and the environmental effects of raising cattle. I…

Corn and rice chex...cinnamon chex and chocolate chex=all g-f Some of Barbara's Brand cereal are wheat free, but they are made in a facilit that processes wheat products. The peanut butter puffins are my absolute fav. I love the Wildberry Buckwehat frozen waffles that are g-f; they are delicious. Also, Bob's red mill steel…

Right here with you! My scale is not budging, but my clothes fit differently and the inches are dropping off week by week (I am down a total of 1.5" on my hips). I guess I always hoped to see that 132lb goal light up on the scale, but for now I am happy with my progress. I have been fluctuating from 137-140lbs for the past…

I want to go dancing at a speakeasy in the mid-20's...anyone else in? Then a stop by London to hang with Virginia Woolf. Next, on to check out Papua New Guinea in the early to mid-1970's on an exploratory adventure. Next up: 1969 Woodstock to see what all those crazy hippies are up to. I would also like to meet James…
