  • So funny. Should be an option at the local Dairy Queen!
  • Not sure that you need my input-. But, I absolutely agree. I always put frozen chicken in the crockpot. It will turn out just wonderful! Happy Easter
  • Find what works for you. What is Sustainable. not what you can do for a few days. Try new foods.. and , like you said, certain foods .. just try not to be around them. I never go to a Buffet. When I bake cookies.. they go in the freezer. My family has to go to the freezer to get the cookies... Remember, it will be slow.…
  • No wonder the girl in my spin class said she thought she burned 250 calories. !! She has the fit bit.
  • I just did a post on this very thing-- as I bought a Polar F1 in the past. I LOVE that . but, it doesn't give me calories burned. I didn't want to spend the extra money..it case I didnt keep up with the excercise programs. But, I am getting a Polar FT40--and have had lots of Support from folks--and GOOD reviews on the…
  • I always excercise early. that is the only time I really feel motivated. I get up super early though, so I have about 4-5 cups of coffee before I excercise. Also, I MUST have some type of Carb in my stomach before I exercise, otherwise I start to feel super sick. I usually bring a protein bar with me.. just in case that…
  • Hi-- keep logging on to this site. Find a good group of friends--and don't add too many or it becomes too impersonal :) A HUGE suggestion I have for you.. and it really works for me. If the evening is your "tough time"--when you eat more. Count your calories differently. Ok.... try to track with me here. I have 1200…
  • No--it was a good rant. It is amazing to me how many Fad diets there are, and how many people do them. They just want a quick fix .. and I get that. Who wouldn't like to be 20 pounds down by taking a magic pill ? But, they aren't getting that it has to be a lifestyle change and how very important being fit is. I am just…
  • I have taken 1 kettlebell class.. and used a kettlebell with a personal trainer. Love them. I got a beginner DVD for Christmas and a Kettlebell :) Am actually going to try the beginner routine this morning . ( had a foot fracture..so, just now getting to this !) But, my DVD has a "technique/introduction" first on some of…
  • I dont have a food processor. Does a blender work? Is that a crazy question? If you know the answer.. can you write/reply on my wall ?
  • Coffee is my liquid "snack"-- for 42 calories (because I like 1/2 and 1/2) it is a great choice. AND, it curbs my appetite. Also, if I will get some coffee ready at dinner time.. and drink a cup of coffee after my 1st plate of food---it makes me feel like my meal is "wrapped up"- "over"-- and I don't go back for 2nds.. or…

  • when they say nothing after I have lost 18 pounds. really?
  • have to agree with Mina :) Don't count anything that you have always done daily... You count anything extra. Remember, the goal is to burn extra calories so that your weight goes down (or you maintain. .. not sure where you are.. :) ) ...
  • cotton socks always bothered my feet. I couldn't believe the difference in buying good socks. Also.. good shoes and good support.
  • sparkpeople.com has great excercises and tips. also livestrong.com -- one of them actually shows you a little paper person doing the movement. very helpful
  • definitely get fitted for shoes. It is more expensive.. but well worth it! really-- AND, only use those shoes for working out/running. Have some other shoes that you use for every day. Also, the shoe store that I went to suggested inserts.. and I just thought they were trying to up-sell me. But, they had said I could bring…
  • We have a hot tub that we bought last year-and it is one of the best purchases we have made. It helps with sore muscles and just great for the mind.. relaxation.. everything. And, not to be a bad influence....but add a glass of wine and voila.. All is good!
  • you will need to invest in an HRM. Sorry :( but , you will probably be glad! I have about 25-30 pounds to lose.. and I log a 435 calories burned for a 45 minute class. I have a friend who had an HRM.. and she has a little more weight to lose.. and she burns about 500. Another friend-- said she only logged 250... again for…
  • The only thing I buy at Nordstroms-- Bra's. I always wear "le mystique"-- as it is the only one where I don't "spill" -- I am a 36 DDD-- and the Mystique is great with t-shirts, etc. Not sure if it will solve your issue or not??? And, I think they do sell that brand in other places.. I just had great luck with the fittings…
  • I don't know why this works. But, switch place you are trying to sleep. A different bed in the house, or try the couch. This helps me a lot.
  • blah--- hate bananas.
  • I teach spinning--and created a pretty upbeat Country Mix. Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson (love this !) Brand New Girlfriend Keep Your Hands to yourself (older song.. can't recall the artist) 1) I Like It , Love it - Tim McGraw 3:16 2) Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts 4:38 3) Indian Outlaw- Tim McGraw 3:03 4) Cowboy Casanova-…
  • toast an english muffin (80-100 calories)-- take an egg and 1/2 piece of 2% cheese, torn into pieces... put it in a glass mug or glass measuring cup Pop the mug/cup in the microwave for 1 minute . Voila-- breakfast sandwich-- takes 2 minutes. You can carry it with you --easy to eat on the go. If you have time/ingrediants…
  • 1200 seemed too low to me when I started a few months ago. Really, it can be done--and you can have enough to eat also. Find things that satisfy you, and that are good for snacking. I Love jello with whip cream, diet hot choc with a few marshmallows , Cutie Clementine tangerines, ... etc. I can stay at 1200 without…
  • I have only taken Zumba a couple of times. Sweat each time.. but, I know that I am not burning anywhere close to 600 calories. I think like hbr930 said.. it really does depend on many factors. If you arent' familiar with the moves (which I certainly am not) you won't burn as many calories. Go online as she suggested-- it…
  • I did have gall bladder surgery about 8 years ago. I am sure its the same method you are talking about.. via small incision. Suregery is easy, simple, quick :) I will say that for some reason, it took me a longer time to "recoup" than I thought it would. It really kicked my butt. I work from home...and thought I would be…
  • I would love to wear a skinny black dress next year! I thought that I was doing so great this year.. went to try on some dresses.. and, well, it wasn't what I had thought. :( So, I AM thinner--just not where I need to be. I have been off MFP thru the Holidays.. and I am back ON!! Happy New Year to you all-- Lets all shoot…
  • Wow-- some of the posts were scaring me. I am 5'5" and my goal weight is 155. Maybe I am not aiming for enough.. but, trying to lose the 40 pounds to get there seemed unreachable to me. (and please.. I know that there are people who need to lose more.. I am just saying for "me"-- it seemed to be a huge endeavor). I will…
  • Hate water. It is boring to me. I will, sometimes, get on a kick and make a pitcher of Crystal Light. Sometimes I buy cute little water bottles. .. and it will help temporarily. The only real time I drink water is when I am working out. The most I get in during a day is 4 cups. I have been losing weight.. and I agree,…
