I bought it on my Kindle first and wound up buying the paperback version too. The Kindle edition has all of the pictures, charts, etc, but it's not easy to jump back and forth through the Kindle edition the way it is through a paperback book. I wish the publisher had done a better job with the ePub version in terms of…

I have one and don't believe it's worth the expense. I'd invest in a good HRM if you're into cardio. I mainly strength train and don't pay attention to how many extra calories fitbit says I can eat. As best I can tell, it's continually adjusting up and down until midnight when it resets. Therefore you may go over on…

Bump, these pics are inspirational! Way to go ladies!

Yep, this is the way I eat my oatmeal every morning. I add a scoop of vanilla protein powder, cinnamon and a touch of vanilla extract. Sometimes I add chocolate protein powder instead, but I prefer vanilla.

That is hands down the best NSV I've ever read. :flowerforyou:

Agreed! You're my hero btw.

Hmm....I'm pretty sure those who've spent a lot of time at the shooting range and have lots of ammo will be much more likely to survive a zombie apocalypse than runners or weight lifters.

You can get one at Amazon as well. I have the Escali digital scale. On another note, before joining MFP I had no idea people weighed their food for weight loss. It makes sense, it just never occurred to me. I've had my digital scale for a while and primarily use it when I bake cakes and only rarely use it to weigh my foods…

Wrong. I won't go into the details, but search women and weightlifting and you'll find that you won't get bulky from lifting. I've been lifting since August 2011 and really started focusing on heavy lifting at the beginning of this year. I'm still losing weight and inches. I aim for 130-150 g protein a day.

Indiana Kitchen thick cut pepper crusted. Yum!

Ha ha, this sounds like me! I lift 3 days a week and my poor dogs get that same random walking. Oh well.
-
I wear Asics Upshot cross trainers to lift. I'm thinking of getting a pair of 5 finger type shoes though for lifting. You might want to check out "Starting Strength" by Mark Ripptoe as well for more detailed instruction on proper lifting. I found the description of proper squat form in "Starting Strength" to be very…

I'm 5'5 3/4. I was a size 10 at 160 with the stray size 12 here and there.

I've also added the extra sessions to the NROL4W so I could work on my form and build more strength. You can get away with doing the program just 2 days a week, which I've done a lot of the time (I work full-time and have three children 5 and under, it's a miracle I can form coherent sentences). It's taken me about 3…

I have an 8 month old son I'm still nursing. He's on solids too. I have my goal set to maintenance and my lifestyle at sedentary, so MFP is giving me 1,690 calories a day. I always eat my exercise calories and I usually go over the 1690 by about 300 calories. I don't add breast feeding calories in my food diary, though if…

Yep, me too!

I love this thread!

Not true.

I'd check out the books "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and "Starting Strength". I'm doing the NROL4W currently, but I started reading "Starting Strength" about a week ago. I much prefer Mr. Ripptoe's approach to squats.
-
Agreed!

I'm in maintenance at the moment with about 1,700 calories/day allowance. I usually eat between 1,800-2,300 with exercise.

Great job! I especially like the cat peering over your shoulder in the last picture!

EAS chocolate and vanilla flavors are both good.

That's quite the generalization in my opinion. While I do agree the photos of models are photoshopped and definitely not a healthy physique to aspire toward, not every woman with a pronounced thigh gap is unhealthy or damaging her fertility. I've always had a thigh gap whether I'm at the high or low end of my healthy BMI.…

I take a prenatal vitamin when I remember to take it. My GP recommends taking extra calcium, but I usually don't bother because I get close to or over my RDV of calcium already. Mostly I weight lift, so I do get lots of protein. This is the third child I've breastfed exclusively for the first six months. My two older…

Raisin Nut Bran is delicious, but it's super pricey, so I almost never purchase it. Right now I really like the Peanut Butter Multigrain Cheerios, yum!

Pure Protein bars are between 18-20 g of protein and 180-210 calories with just a few grams of sugar 2-3 I think. Quest bars are delicious, but twice as expensive and you must order them online.
