I'm training for the Vancouver Sun Run 10k right now. Starts super easy (run 1 walk 1) and progresses. It's a great training schedule. I think you can find it by google or also the Couch to 10K is about the same training. So liberating to be able to run :) Also the Running Room offers various training clinics for different…

I want this phone so bad! I have a Samsung Galaxy Captivate. It's good but no S2....

Nevermind Friday night, these are good Sunday morning too ;)

Runkeeper rocks!

Changed in any way from their original state. Some things are more processed than others.
-
It can be that much from all the processing it goes through. Even when we think we are making "healthy" choices sometimes they aren't that healthy :( Now you know so you won't order that again. LOL. Tomorrow is a new day and you're doing great!

Not only did this bring a tear to my eye but it also opened my eyes. You're completely right, the 10 pounds won't kill me. I'm feeling really selfish right now about smoking and not caring what the outcome may be. How could I think that possibly leaving my child would be worth a cigarette? Disgusting!

If you ran 80min you can do 10k no problem! I'm an extremely slow runner (10min kilometer pace) and I did a 10k in 1:26. You probably ran farther than 10k in the 80 min. Just keep training 3-4 days a week until the race. You're going to have fun :)

I try for just one cheat meal also. I usually do it as a late dinner so the temptation to carry on with it is low.

Everything in moderation and you should be fine. This has to be a lifestyle you can live with and we know that friends and social times are part of life. I go out once a week with my friends and "indulge" (which means make good choices but don't let the fact that it's not as healthy as homemade food bother me) and I'm…

You're doing great! It's hard for people who are not in the same situation (or are choosing to not do anything about it) to understand the struggles and schedule of a person who is serious and dedicated to losing weight. It's a long journey but you seem like an outgoing person who will not let any obstacles stand in your…

Finally some other Visalus people! I'm only doing one shake a day as I find I'm way too hungry after long workouts then I eat everything in sight. Any tips or tricks to help me with 2 shakes a day but not lose all my energy while exercising? My distributor convinced me to sign up and haven't heard a peep from him since :(

You look genuinely happy. Rare to see :)

I'm awesome but I swear and love pizza. Do I make the cut??

I'm from BC, near Vancouver :)

How do find out what your maintenance calories are?
-
I also started running the C25k way and am now training for a half marathon! Great program that works and keeps injuries at a minimal if at all :) Good luck!

Def eat at least 1200 calories a day. Weigh first thing in the morning before you have any food or liquids. If I weigh in the daytime after water I'm about 5 pounds heavier than in the morning. Hope you stick with it :)

I did that the other day with McDonalds. Thought I would be WAY over but had 15 calories left to spare. Not something I'm going to do regular but was nice to know I hadn't blown the whole day :)

I'm 5'9"...Is that close enough?? LOL. My goal is 202 (yes it's a high number but I'm big and always will be) so have about 46 more to lose. I'm happy with my current 15 pounds lost but still so far to go....sigh.

My go to for quick results is elliptical. It kicks my butt but I get the most benefit from it. Another way to track is inches. I haven't lost much weight yet but inches are coming off faster than I can buy clothes.
-
Keep doing what you're doing and when you hit plateau change exercise completely to shock your body. I was running and elliptical until plateau then started weights (lightly) and spinning. Broke the plateau and then I was able to go back to running and elliptical (my favorites) and keep losing. For me the change in…

Thanks, just posted looking for advice on shin splints. I do all of the proper stretching, have good shoes, no hills, etc but still in pain even after a 3k slow run. I might just forge on with my half marathon training and rest when it's over. OUCH!

I'm still here too. I can't get into this group from my phone which is where I do most online stuff. When I'm able to log into a PC I do :) I have exercised everyday so far.
