Kabula, I used to have the same problem! But when I started eating healthy, I really just don't have that problem anymore. That's been one of the great benefits of my healthy diet :)

The biggest thing for me has been self-discipline. I used to be good on weekdays and hit the bars on the weekends, eat some fries and have enough drinks to be sure that I'd not be able to walk out without a little help. But my progress slowed and then stopped because of this. I'd lose 2 pounds over the course of the week,…

Hello Emma! This is a great site, and if you've got a smart phone, the app is incredibly handy for keeping those calories where they ought to be. If you're too low, it will chastise you for it at the end, and you'll feel inclined to go have some toast or something so the app isn't mad at you anymore...or...well maybe…

crzyone, I don't see that much sodium in the chicken I log. We talking breast meat here?

Thanks for the replies. Will up the chicken intake :) Brecore: alcohol is usually on of the first think I think of too ;)

Okay! I like that a few people agree with me at least :D It doesn't sound like much, but I burn like 1200 calories a week walking, and maybe another 500 with pilates (when I stick to it). That isn't going to lose me much weight, but all I care about really is being healthy and in shape. I just don't have the time or desire…

That's why I love this place. Not only good answers, but like...a hundred million of them :) I know all this stuff, of course...I think it's just that I haven't seen the need for it yet. I suppose a better question might be "do I need to hit the gym and bust my butt?" I do pilates at home, and try to take a nightly walk…

From what I've seen sodium only causes temporary weight gain, although over consumption can have longterm negative effects. As for making his own, salt is, unfortunately, a necessary component of cured meats like that. You're not going to find a low sodium recipe; it's basically salted meat.

Agree with the others. Throw it out, don't buy it. Then you can't eat it. You may have to get really strict with yourself and have NOTHING but healthy food in the house. I mean some things seem so innocent, but if you start eating peanut butter by the spoonful...ouch!

Quick answer to the deficit idea: No. Don't do that! It might work, but when you resume normal calorie levels it's likely to come back. Plus, you're talking about eating 800 calories a day, and that's not a good idea. You might even get into starvation mode and then you'll be extra frustrated because you'll be ravenous AND…

You're awesome kitty :)

You should set a realistic goal and follow MFP's suggestions. I was starving and not losing weight. Starvation will cause weight loss of course, but only if you commit to it and eat NOTHING, and that's clearly not very healthy. When you just cut a lot, your body isn't really able to burn the weight off well. I was eating…

Garrus? He's ruggedly...ya know...well, Garrus is a monster. As femshep you've got Jacob, who's alright, then Garrus, and fish monster Thane. I went after Kelly when I was femshep.

But I don't wanna eat wood! Wood is not a food. And I think the fact that we're comfortable with its presence in these processed abominations that stock the shelves of the supermarket really says something about how bad this stuff is! I guess it's just like...wood? Well that can't be the worst thing in there!
-
The answer should be TALI :D Unless your femshep, in which case, I dunno...Jacob or something.

I'm poly, and I don't really agree with the concept of a "harem."

Yea you can go 10-20 hours to finish the whole thing. If you go straight through, maybe 10...if you do side quests, explore the galaxy, you can take quite a long time indeed. Better question...what crewmate are you getting it on with? :D

Can't recall a favorite line, but I will say, without leaving any spoilers...I love how surprised I was when Leo came out of the elevator at the end. Rarely does a movie take me by surprise like that!

I think it depends where you live. If you're in the city and you work a mile from your home and the grocery store is a mile from there and there's a park two blocks away, then sure, walking is quite viable. I live in a smaller town though. My apartment is ten miles from my office. The grocery store/commercial district is…

I'm in Georgia. It's hot, lately it doesn't rain, and most of the stereotypes about the people are true!

Dandan, welcome! I just started using the website in the last week, and I LOVE it. It's very helpful, and everyone is very friendly and supportive. Take full advantage of it, it helps a lot!

PLATEAU BREAKER! Congrats on resuming your astounding progress! Keep up the great work!

I posted about this earlier, and here's what people told me (or the abridged, digest version). Sugar is no different from other carbs, except that it makes you hungry and does not fill you up. Those who exceed their sugar allowance are far more likely to overeat because it's going to make you feel hungry. I exceed mine…

I don't exercise that much due to work either. What I do is take a walk for 30 minutes to an hour every night. A long, slow walk is good for fat burning, and is better than nothing. Another good one is pilates. Get a DVD and do 30 minutes of pilates, that's good stuff. Burns some calories and really works the core!

I have found MFP to be VERY supportive so far. Every time I post on the boards I make a friend, and everyone is very helpful and forthcoming with great advice and information. Don't be discouraged! The people here are great.

Good lord! 81 pounds! GO YOU!

Okay. So it's mainly, as I'm seeing it, about hunger levels. If I eat too much sugar, my insulin eats it all up too quickly, and suddenly I'm hungry again and need more food. So going over my sugar quota (the measly 33 grams MFP allows me, which I kill with a chai lattee) is really only bad if it causes me to go nuts on…

I'm usually able to stick within the 2500 limit, but sometimes its difficult. I went to lunch with a friend for her birthday the other day, and the restaurant did not have much in the way of healthy stuff. I had a turkey sandwich thinking I was pretty safe, only to find out I'd just consumed 3,000+ mg of sodium when I put…
