  • I hate the Big Bang Theory. I know Sheldon is supposed to be annoying, but he makes me wants to jam toothpicks in my eyes ... or maybe just in his?? I want to like it. It is all geeky and nerdy and the hubby likes it. But ... shudder ... :noway: Firefly is only one season. It is on Netflix instant view along with the…

  • So far I have Van Gogh Tardis, "Define Interesting" [ Do you watch Firefly? I might need to convert you to that one too. O:-) ] And I just found DOn't Mess With A Princess with Leia holding a blaster. That had been out of stock for AGES. Shouldn't we be working?

  • Good point on the spoilers. If we discuss episodes, especially mopre recent ones, we should put potential spoiler in the thread title. We watched seven seasons in seven months. I think once you get the WHo bug, you plow through the instant view on Netflix as fast as you can. I am almost sad we're caught up. But we can…

  • "Are you my Mommy" Hubby & I had way too much fun with Justin Beiber in his gas mask.
  • I converted you to The Doctor. I can convert you to The Dark Side. We have cookies. .... and bacon. ;-)
  • They haven't gotten easier for me. I do them with my knees down. My trainer says I have good form. They are just hard. Crazy thing is I can bang out a dozen sun salutations complete with chaturanga dandasana with no issue at all. Maybe is I think of push ups as a yoga pose it will feel easier.
  • Matt Smith doesn't annoy me. I just never connected with him as The Doctor. The show also seemed to turn into more of a nighttime soap with his doctor. There was just sometyhnig about season six that rubbed me wrong. Eh, I still love it. I'm even creating new Whovians of friends I met on MFP.
  • I'm not sure how I'd do running with my husband. Other than 2 5k's, we haven't run together since the early parts of C25k. I have my ipod loaded with my running mix. I try to have very up tempo songs ranging from 4-5 1/2 minutes each. It is a very ecclectic mix heavy on the 80's hair bands of my teenage years. I lose…
  • Hi Kathleen - I am very fortunate I have a gym at work. They offer classes everyday at either noon or 1:00. I usually get in six days a week exercising. My usual week is Monday run (has been treadmill, but will be outside by the Charles once the snow stops), Tuesday strength training - machines, Wednesday yoga, Tursday…
  • No t-shirts yet. My t-shirt collection is probably 90% Disney World and the rest Star Wars. I do rather covet the Van Gogh Tardis shirt. I could quickly go broke on thinkgeek.com. Especially since I just discovered they are having a 25% off all apparal sale!
  • Hi. I'm Lori. I finished C25k the last weekend of December 2012 and jumped right into 5k to 10k. I used the active.com app for C25k so I am using that for 5k to 10k. I got to W6D2 on February 23 without issue. I just could not face running 50 minutes plus a five minute warm up and cool down on the treadmill. I hate running…
  • Hi, I'm Lori. Born and raised in New England and very sick of all this snow. I watched some Doctor Who with my Uncle (with Tom Baker as the Doctor) when I was a little girl. My Barbies won that battle for my attention. I started watching Doctor Who on Netflix this past Fall with my hubby. We finished the six seasons last…
  • Sure. I am already a member of the group. It is much smaller than the C25k group. Any other finisher's of C25k who are now doing 5k to 10k want to join us?
  • My Uncle made me watch Doctor Who with him when I was a little girl. That was Tom Baker but I don't really remember it well. I started watching it with my husband on Netflix last Fall. I had no idea what it was about or what was coming. I was horrified when 9 regenerated after only one season. I had to take a break before…
  • I'm sort of scr**ed for protein snacks. I hate eggs with a passion and am not a huge fam of cold cheese. Most of the cheeses I like alot a full of sodium. Most protein rich snacks I like are also sodium heavy. I love almonds and I usually have a fiber one bar, or something similar, for my morning snack. I do not have any…
  • Thank you. This makes sense.
  • I know I shouldn't, but I feel guilty that I do not work out everyday. I do feel my body needs a day to rest and let my muscles recuperate. I usually go to the gym M-F. My gym is in my work building, so I only have access M-F. On weekends I go for a run one of hte days. The other I still usually run around doing errands…
  • I have an appointment with one of the trainers at my gym today for a quick run through of the machines. If I need a more in depth training plan I will schedule a paid for personal training session.
  • I have an appointment with a trainer today to review the machines. Since I added running to my routine I am dropping weight again. I am hoping trading a day of cardio for strength traininng will help build more lean muscle and stop the excess weight loss.
  • The active.com 5k to 10k app starts you in right where C2k5 left off. D1 is a 20-25 min run, D2 is some sort of interval jog/run/fast run. D3 is an increasingly longer long run. There are no walking intervals.
  • I'm on W6D3 of 5k to 10k - active.com's app. Since I used their C25k app, I went with it. I cannot wait for next weekend and daylight savings to start. AND for more snow to melt of the sidewalks. There is a Bridge to 10k group here. It hasn't been active in four months. :-(
  • I actually liked it better when the intervals ended with W6D3 and it was all straight running. I could get into a groove and just go. Cue up my running mix on the iPod, hit start on C25k and .... she's off. Congrats to all of you for getting half way through. Finishing was an amzing feeling. I was the girl who tried to…
  • This is great info. It answers a lot of questions. Will read more in depth after work. Thank you.
  • This is great information and resources. Thank you.
  • I'll start echoing all the great advice the other posters have given you. I finished C2k5 the end of December. I began Labor Day weekend. I usually ran twice a week. Three times just didn't fit with my schedule and other gym classes I take. I still swear W1D2 was the hardest. Day 1 I was all excited and ready to start this…
  • I have long wanted a fitbit. I think mostly because I am a gadget geek. However, one of my friends, who has lost over 100 lbs, swears by her fitbit. I believe she also uses a HRM for workouts to get a more accuate calorie burn.
  • Week 1 Day 2 I was so gung ho to start that Day 1 wasn't "that bad". Day 2 had me wondering what karmic debt I was paying off to willingly be doing this to myself. I did not start to actually enjoy running until W6D3 when the intervals stopped and it became straight runs. I did so much better just listening to my music,…
  • We're actually going to WDW in October and hopefully adding a trip in May. Let's see if I can run there before we actually go!
