  • I only count actual plain water. I don't count my green tea or coffee or crystal light, etc. I log them in my beverages heading, but not as water.
  • Star Wars Disney Princess Whovian Geek reporting for duty. ;-) I have several Darth Vader figures as we ll as a Tardis and Dalek on my desk at work. Also a fan of: Big Bang Theory Firefly Marvel etc In my delusional dream world Tony Stark and the Tenth Doctor fight over me.
  • multi vitamin, calcium and Vitamin D per doctor's recommendation. glucosomine chondrotin - stopped taking it for a while to see if I noticed a difference. Holy h*ll did I. probiotic potassium - trying to get levels up through food, then will stop supplement.
  • The entire sites looks great. I think I will also need to try http://www.slenderkitchen.com/sunday-slow-cooker-pork-paprikash/.
  • I love http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
  • ^^ All of this. Plus I'll agree with frequently measuring yourself and taking photos. The scale will stop moving from time to time. That does not mean that you are not still making progress. The measuring tape and side by side photos will not lie. Seeing the constant progress in spite of the silent scale will keep your…
  • I hear you. 5'7", 128 lbs, training for a half marathon on two weeks. Tummy pooch that will just NOT go away.
  • I started running last September, so I only have one winter under my belt. I ran outside until the sidewalks became inpassable with constant snow. Unfortunaltely, a large part of my route is on the sidewlk along very busy, streets with blind curves. Running on the street instead of the sidewalk is not a safe option. I…
  • Haunted Family 5k October 5th. Hubby wouldn't train, so no ToT 10 Miler. Maybe next year. SInce the 2014 Everest Challange is sold out, the 2015 is on our to do list.
  • These are great. Thanks for posting. Happily, most of there are already in my after run, as well as after weights day stretching routine. My yoga instructor is on maternity leave and her sub is way too perky for my practice. She jabbers through shavasana! I can't wait until October when chatty cathy is gone and our regular…
  • Dopey is all 4 races and each day they get progressively longer right? Maybe see how you feel after the 5k. If you feel good, do the 10k. If still good the next day try the half. Then go for the full if you feel you have it in you to do it without injury. My thought is you don't want your lack of interest in running to…
  • If you have a local running store, have them fit you for sneakers. Tell them you are just starting out and will be walking / jogging / running and need something that can accomodate that. I'm thinking they will fit you in some sort of cross trainer. I fit myself at DSW for my first running shoes. It is just about time for…
  • I highly recommend Couch to 5k. I used the active.com version. I started last Labor Day weekend and ran my first 5k the first weekend of October. It was the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5k. I jogged / walked the whole thing. But I made sure to save a last burst of energy so I would run over the finish line. You…
  • A little bit of everything. I find songs I love and know by heart keeps my mind engaged on the music and can pull me through a tough spot on a run. I have some ABBA, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, System of a Down, Limp Bizkit, Bruce Springsteen ... GCPgirl - love your list. We have a lot of the same songs.
  • My first 5k was one month into C25k training. I am doing that race again next month. I hope to finish in under 30 minutes.
  • Congratulations. That is wonderful. Watch out, the 5k bug is contagious. You'll love collecting your race bibs and t-shirts. I am another graduate of C25k. I then went on to 5k to 10k. I am not quite at 10k yet. Once I can go the 6.2 miles comfortably, it will be on to 1/2 marathon training. They are aweseome programs to…
  • Snicker - I've been having the same issue ... Van Gogh Tardis? A Karen Hallion Doctor Who/Disney mash up? A hubby original Doctor Who/Disney mash up?
  • I will lose so much respect for the show if 11 regenerates into a female 12. I honestly do not think Time Lords gender changes with regenerations. A female would always regenerate as a female as a male would always regenerate as a male. The new incarnation could probably then be transgendered if s/he so chose. I still…
  • Thank you. May what you sow come back to you threefold.
  • I find the stationary bike and elliptical mind numbingly boring. My kindle engages my mind while my body works it a** off. On the treadmill, I only use my iPod for music. I'd fly right off that thing if I tried to read and run at the same time.
  • There is a currently very quiet Doctor Who group here on MFP. It is called Who R Us.
  • Favorite Doctor - David Tennant Favorite Episode/s: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances The Girl In The Fireplace Blink The Beast Below Favorite character/s: I adore Strax, Madam Vastra and Jenny. Favorite companion: Donna - she was the only one not all mooney eyed over the Doctor. "You ain't mating with me, Mate!" Favorie…
  • I am so sorry. I lost two of my catsto cancer. We opted to not give them chemo. They were elderly. The chemo would have only given them a few months. It would have made them miserable. Making them stay longer would have been selfish of us - making the suffer longer because we could not let them go. I know how hard it is.…
  • brucewaye_88 - photo isn't close enough to tell, but i am betting there are some sexy brown eyes in that intense gaze. Hot arms too!
  • Phew, I am not the only one.
  • I used active.com C25k. When I finished I moved right on to their 5k to 10k. I believe they also have a 10k to half marathon when I finish the one I am on. I love it. I use the cheerleader-esque coach. She gives encouragement periodically thoughout the walk/jog/run. I can run my music app and she will voice over when it is…
  • I'll have to check my facebook feeds, but I thought I read this morning this rumor was false?
  • Good for you! I've always felt iffy about Sports Authority. Now I have one more reason to NOT give them my business. I will have to give D-I-C-K's a try. I tend to hit up New Balance, Jockey and Champion when I go to the Outlet's.
  • This is very close to myself. Original goal was 133. I planned on using a couple of extra pounds as I was going to Disney for hte Food & Wine Festival and didn't want to worry about gaining back. I got to 128 and didn't gain anything at Disney with all the walking. I then took up running and dropped a few more pounds. I…
