Tower of Terror 10 Miler 2013
The dates were just released. October 4-6, 2013. This will be my first runDisney event. I started running this past Labor Day just to be able to run in this event! I am up to 4 miles. My goal is a pace of 12 minute miles with a stretch goal of 10 minute miles. I have eight months. I think it is doable. Who else is running…

Whovian Runners
The Boston Marathon is near and dear to my heart. This just appeared on my facebook feed today: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151430832427725&set=o.362677597172367&type=1&theater I am in for the 5k. Any takers for a virtual Whovian 5k?

Runners?
I started running last Labor Day weekend. I was the girl who hid when it was time to run during HS gym class. I started using the Couch 2 5k program. When i finished that, I moved on to the 5k to 10k program. That stalled out when Boston got nailed with a major snow storm every weekend for 6 weeks. I got a new phone 2…

Welcome - Intro
Welcome fellow CA's. My name is Lori. I am a senior registered CA in Boston, MA. I've been in this role since March 2005. I've been with the company since Fleet Bank, NA in 1998. I am very lucky. We have a gym in my building with classes every day at noon and 1:00. My two main FA's both go to their respective gyms just…

snacking
What do you all have for snacks to get through the day? I have a fiber bar in the morning around 10:00. If I am not going ot the gym until 1:00 or after, I will have a single serving size bag of edamame. After lunch I have a couple of clementines around 3:30. When I get home I have a 1/4 cup of Emerald dark cocoa almonds…

Cold War
Ugh ... That's about all I have to say after one viewing. Season 7.2 is a huge disappointment so far.

The Bells of St John - Spoilers Sweetie!
So? What did you think? Will we be chasing the Great Intelligence for the rest of the season? Just who is he Impossible Clara?

The odd mind of a Whovian
Last night my husband was playing with Elliot (our Whovian cat) in the spare bedroom. He insists they saw Jazmine (our Ninja cat) run out of the master bedroom and downstairs. She was actually on the bed playing with her ribbon. I, of course, think oh no extra shadows and had an interesing night dreaming of Vasha Nerada.

~sob~
We finally got all caught up last night. Angels Take Manhattan was wonderfully awful. I sat on the couch sobbing while hubby tried not to sob. Someone needs to slap Steven Moffat. With a big stick! :grumble: One of our cats actually watches Doctor Who with us. He hears the theme music and comes running to get onto…

Fangirl overboard?
My hubby is an artist. His bill paying job is in a local paint store. We saw a FB post that the BBC had officially sanctioned a Pantone formula for TARDIS blue. He replicated this into a formula compatible with their tint machine and Ben Moore semi gloss. He is bringing home a quart so we can paint the bathroom door and…

BBCA Companions Special
Did anyone watch this last night? I thought it was okay. Nothing very insightful into the companions. Was fun to hear Tennant and his Scottish accent. Aside from being Capt'n Jack, John Barrowman is such a huge fanboy. I can almost hear him squee'ing when he was actually cast to be in Doctor Who. It was very very cute. I…

Sale!
www.thinkgeek.com is having a 25% off all apparel sale. It ends tonight. I have birthday money left. I think I'll be getting a Van Gogh Tardis baby doll t-shirt. And I am rather taken with the "Define Interesting" from Firefly babydoll.

That stupid belly pooch
I am at my goal weight of 128 and have been for a while now. Everything seems to be toning up nicely. Except that da*m belly pooch. I workout 5-6 days a week for 45 - 60 minutes. I run, do zumba, take a couple of cardio sculpting classes and yoga. I keep a close eye on my fat and cholesterol intake as well as sodium. I…

W9D3 is in the books!
I did it!! I graduated C25k on 12/29/2012. The active.com C25k app gave me an 11:41min/mile pace. With the 5 minute warm up and cool down, the endomondo app gives me 3.41 miles in 41:12 with an average pace of 12:04. At almost 43 years old, considering prior to Labor Day weekend 2012 I had never willingly run…

Next steps?
I will be finishing W9D3 this week. I already downloaded active.com's 5k to 10k app. Skimming through the training it looks like it is ramping up my speed more than building my distance endurance. For those of you who have moved on to 10k training, what training app do you use?

Finished my second 5k
Yesterday was W8D2. Hubby & I ran the Miss Santa Holiday 5k. It is a R.A.C.E. (run against cancer event). I finished in 36:39.7 - an average pace of 11:49 - with no walk breaks. I was 444 out of 504 and 34 out of 42 in my age group. I am pleased with myself. I am trying to keep myself to a slower pace than I know I can do.…

First 5k tomorrow
Hubby and I are participating in the Susan G Komen Race for a Cure 5k tomorrow. When we registered, we thought we would be around week 7 of C25k. In reality, we are at W4D1. A wrenched muscle, bad allergy attacks, pitiful weather side put us way behind our intended schedule. I am not worried. We'll get it done. There just…

Registered for my first 5k
This morning I registered for the Susan G Komen Race fo the Cure 5k. The race is October 20th. This will be week 7 in the C25k training program, assuming we don't need to repeat a week. I registered for the option with a timing chip & a number. Even if I need to walk a bit in the middle it will be a great official gauge of…

Running form?
As I get ready to start C25k, I've noticed I walk heel toe, but I run on my toes. (Read run as run to catch the bus, run across the street so as not to get hit by a car). I am not coordinated to begin with. Making myself run correctly is going to be hysterical to watch.

Other new runners?
I am about to begin the C25k program. I have never been a fan of running. Okay, I should say I have always HATED running. I ran in school because in order to pass gym, you had to run. I have never willingly run since then. My line is the only reason to run is if zombies are chasing me. Well, I guess there must be zombies.…

W1D1 complete
Hubby & I just finished Day 1. I forgot to turn on my gps so I don't have true stats. His was 2.14 miles at 14.2 mph. Mine is probably a touch slower. We did the program out the trail, then walked back home. So a total of 4 1/2 or so miles. I feel good. Looking forward to Day 2.

Road ID
When my husband became a bike commuter he ordered one of these. Now that I am going to be running, he felt I should order one two. I think these are a great idea for any runner, biker, hiker, etc. Gods forbid we ever get hurt while running and either do not have, or become separated from, our wallet, id etc. This bracelet…

Too ambitious??
I have not run since we were forced to run in gym class back in my school days. I have always hated running. My line was the only reason to run is if zombies are chasing me. I do go to the gym 3-4 times a week and would say I am reasonably fit for 42 y/o. My husband and I want to start running so we can do the runDisney…
