Thanks, folks. What I'm trying to do is write my PLAN down on paper. I haven't fleshed that out enough, I guess. Maybe I'll give it some thought and revisit here when I have more clarity. I don't want it just to be "Eat more fruits and vegetables." I want it to be about what I'll do when there's sweets that someone brought…

I think there are times I'd like to rent a kayak downtown but I won't go alone. I'm not terribly experienced but I've been out on a kayak twice and have really enjoyed it when the water was nice and calm.

I'm Heather. I have over 100lbs to lose but I'm fine with slow progress as long as I'm making progress! I live in Castle Shannon (glad to see someone else who does!) I will be doing the 5K Arthritis walk in June. I am trying to walk a lot more often. A walking group might be fun! I don't drive so I take the trolley/bus…

I've been yelled at from kids driving by. It makes you feel awful and so self-conscious. I've given it some thought, though. People who act that way will probably be punished for it later. I'm not saying that it's karma or anything like that. I just think of what kind of person they may be... and I imagine other people…

Blech, can't stand the Flyers!

I'm living in Pittsburgh -- grew up in Johnstown and have family in Johnstown and near Harrisburg (Perry County). I'm 32 years old and I want to lose about 150lbs, give or take. Whatever I'm healthy and fit at! Feel free to add me, anyone! :)

I don't remember a lot of stuff that's been said. The only thing that comes to mind at this point is when the podiatrist told me that I had an arthritic spur in my foot and since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, there was nothing he could do "because you're gonna hurt anyways." His advice to me, "Try not to walk much." I…

South Hills, here!

I can relate. I'm doing this less and less. What works for me is to grab water. Truth is, I don't drink enough water and I think my signals get crossed. Part of it is boredom sometimes, though. Part of it is just "old habit." If I am kinda hungry... sometimes I'll grab a pickle slice. Banana pepper would work, too. Or…

Thank you! Sounds interesting!

Looks great! Love the tracking dial. At work, I use rubber bands around my big cup so I remember. On weekends, I definitely don't drink enough water, tho. Hrm... Anybody else have a favorite? I might go with this. Thank you, spearfox! I think they used to make some with an ice core that you can freeze. Do they still make…

^ Can identify some birds by their songs (bird-watcher). < I have a pet cockatiel named Maggie Mae. v What would you say your best personality quality is?

I usually drizzle a little balsamic vinegar on them. Might not be for everyone.

Nice eyes and a genuine smile... It doesn't hurt if he likes to cook, tho! LOL!

I'm single... 32 years old, and living in Pittsburgh, PA. I dated a guy for 10 years, but broke it off because it became clear we didn't have the same goals in life. We'd been living with his parents. I was saving to get out... He was going in debt and buying video games. I was buying us groceries. I expect a lot of guys…

Single here, but not sure I want a status update. LOL! I was in a relationship for 10 years, and I invested a lot into "us." Maybe it's burnout. I have my own routines, my own place, and can be myself. Maybe that's it. I got sick a few years ago and am far better than I was, but for a few years, I had to look after myself…

Of all the things I've eaten, tripe has to have been the one I will never eat again. Yuck! I love unagi (eel). I've had sea urchin. Roe. Raw quail egg. I had goat tacos with queso al fresco at a Mexican restaurant that also served sweetbreads. I skipped out on the sweetbreads, though. Mad Cow Disease and prions having been…

Had VIVID dreams with the apnea. Sometimes would get little snippets of a conversation that was part of a dream that was so... well, realistic... lifelike... that I couldn't tell it from reality. I once woke up thinking that I had a meeting with my boss and co-worker and that I was told to do something. So, the next day I…

I take it. I had a doctor tell me, "Why are you taking that? It's not FDA approved." The doctor didn't know my medical problems. I used to take a prescription sleep drug that wasn't meant for long-term use. It was prescribed for fibromyalgia. I asked my rheumatologist about melatonin and he said, "Sure! Try it!" I also…

I should get some Better N' Peanut butter. That stuff was amazing... I didn't think to put it in Oatmeal. Yummy!

I have a tendency toward hypoglycemia. I used to have a banana with lunch, but I had to quit when my body started acting funny. Like, two hours after lunch, I felt nauseated, shaky and yeah, really tired. If you have normal blood sugars, the banana probably wouldn't be a big deal. Especially just half. If you tend toward…

I'm in Limbo-land but I thought I'd join you. Limbo-land isn't such a bad place to be right now. I was diagnosed with fibro in 2007 and really had awful troubles. If I didn't get medication, I wouldn't have been able to continue working! Well, I had the pain that moved all over the body, the burning sensations, tingling,…

If you figure that one out, let me know! ;) I was just thinking of what a pain it is to have to have clothes for every season... I'd be GLAD to do away with having to buy a winter coat and boots.... *just dreaming*

I got my CPAP in July. I'm still tired sometimes and I over-eat when I'm tired! I just bought a Zeo sleep monitor and will see how that works for me. I'm trying to figure out what else I can do to improve my sleep. Still, I'm not drop-dead tired like I was before I was diagnosed, so I'm very glad for that! There were days…

I live in PA, too. I'm in limbo when it comes to my health status, but I'm happy for that. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2007, but was then diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2011. With better sleep, my fibro symptoms have settled but not completely disappeared. I traveled for Christmas/New Year's and still don't have my things…

Low magnesium could be another reason for leg cramps. Or dehydration. I have sleep apnea and I guess that can cause leg cramps. I also have asthma. My doc says my oxygenation doesn't drop at night but I still get leg cramps. You may want to bring it up at your next check-up if you can't get it addressed with diet changes.…

I'm also from Pittsburgh. Would be nice to meet some folks in person.

I have troubles with night-eating. I've found that snacking really helps me cope better with the "coming home, time to eat" trigger. I have a snack before I leave work. I sometimes carry something with me (like an apple), or I have a snack right when I get in the door. When I eat at home, I try to have a higher protein…
