  • Not a stupid question and either way would work. I personally scramble the cottage cheese as the eggs are cooking. It makes the eggs fluffier and a little cheesy and you don't taste the 'cottage cheese taste'.
  • -Greek yogurt mixed with: jam, protein powder, or fruit -Apple slices dipped in Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and either protein powder or honey -Nuts and raisins -Jerky and string cheese -Turkey and cheese roll ups -Cottage cheese with a tsp. of honey, cinnamon, and 1/2 of a chopped up apple -Cottage cheese on a rice cake…
  • Totally worth it! Life is just all around better. I have more strength, energy, endurance, and confidence. I have changed, not just physically but mentally, emotionally, and maybe even spiritually as well. I feel much more in tune with my body. I feel so much better about myself and how I look but also I actually…
  • Just enter your recipe in the recipe calculator in MFP. Either weigh the whole thing or figure out how many cups it is. Decide how big you want the serving to be and then divide total by that number. Whatever number you get is your number of servings that you can enter into the recipe. Then wala... you have your calorie…
  • I love my slowcooker!! So helpful and such delicious food! Oh and might I add that slow cooker bags are a lifesaver for clean-up! Here are a few links that will hopefully help: http://www.fitsugar.com/Low-Calorie-Crock-Pot-Recipes-28437951 (haven't actually had the chance to try any of these yet but they look good!)…
  • Fettuccine with chicken and sun dried tomatoes is sooooo delicious! I also really like the chicken salad sandwich. The Dulce de Leche cheesecake is pure heaven! Enjoy your outing!!
  • Thank you. I did Jillian Michaels Body Revolution. I do think that my high protein intake had a lot to do with it, but something worked!! :) [/quote] Aha! I kind of ignored the high protein thing even though I had heard time and time again that I should. :ohwell: I thought it was too hard. I am happy to report that I have…
  • My new addiction: Healthy Pumpkin Pancakes 1 cup oats 1/2 cup pumpkin puree 1/2 cup cottage cheese 1/2 cup egg whites 1 banana 2 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice (or make your own: equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, & 3/4 part all-spice) Directions: 1. Toss all ingredients in a blender and blend well until mixture becomes a…
  • This is amazing!! Please tell me kymkan how you did this in just 3 short months!! I have been lifting for over 6 months and have made very small changes.
  • I agree with what people are saying about making sure you are staying hydrated and stretching. What about doing some foam rolling as well?
  • A Romanian deadlift is where you lower the bar until just below your knees. You want to keep your back in its natural arch by pushing your hips back and allowing your knees to bend slightly. Then push your hips forward as you straighten your torso and pull the bar back to starting position. A conventional deadlift is where…
  • I've never been a huge cottage cheese fan but sometimes I struggle to get in all of my protein so I have been planning on buying some during my next trip to the grocery store. I love all of these ideas and would have never though of about 95% of them! Thank you for this post! I would really love the cottage cheese pancake…
  • I'm not 5'10" and I'm not sure what your goal weight should be but I can tell you this: I am 5'5", my goal weight is 125 but I've pretty much been stuck at 132 for months! At this point I'm not really sure that I'll ever get to 125 but I'm pretty happy with where I'm currently at, just wanting to continue working on body…
  • From what I understand its actually pretty hard to gain new muscle and won't happen on a deficit (there is a little bit of an exception for newbies though). However it is possible to build on the muscle that you already have and it is definitely possible to gain strength, especially for a newbie. Muscle burns fat so it is…
  • It sounds like you could benefit from a good strength training program! I'm currently doing the New Rules of Lifting for Women (NROLFW) and I think that is a great book to get if you are new to lifting. I've also heard good thing about Drop 2 Sizes. I started lifting in July and while I haven't really lost weight (I go…
  • THIS!!!! VVVV
  • I'm like you. I don't like working out with a bunch of people around me. I used to feel intimidated and every now and then I still do, especially if I'm trying something that I haven't done before but I just get over it and focus on my own thing. I lift weights and when I go to the gym I really don't even notice anyone…
  • I will definitely consider myself lucky then since I don't seem to struggle with DOMS as much when I'm consistently working out. I'm sure that when I start new exercises in Stage 2 I'll be a sore but I am grateful that I'm not constantly feeling sore.
  • Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it! Sounds like I'm doing everything right. I'm glad to know that DOMS is not a way to measure how "good" of a workout I got. I will keep focusing on going up in weight and always improving!
  • This seems to be the case for me as well. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing my best! I was lifting with my sister in law for about a month before she got pregnant and decided not to continue and she said she was sore the next day every time we worked out! Thanks so much for your input!
  • My sweet tooth thanks you!
  • Yes, lifting is definitely doing phenomenal things for you! I took a before-I-started-lifting photo and I think I need to take a now picture and compare. I'm also realizing that I need to do better with my calories. I was under the impression that I should be eating a little more than that. I set my goals to be between…
  • I agree, you look awesome!!! How long have you been lifting? I've only been at it for about a month and a week. Not too long I know. I definitely feel stronger and see some subtle differences but nothing like this! I know that it takes time. I'm not discouraged or anything but I'm just wondering when I will start looking…
  • I'm constantly hungry so I eat at or around scheduled times. If I ate when I was hungry I'd be eating all day long. :ohwell:
  • I have such a sweet tooth and am so excited about these low calories treats! Thanks for sharing!!
  • I too have been wondering about quinoa but have been a little intimidated to try it. Bump for later!
  • Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! I think I will just have to give it another try or two. It sounds like once I start the actual workouts instead of just the story begins it will be more fun. It also sounds like maybe hubster and I won't be able to to do the story together or at least at the exact same time with…
  • I'm pretty sure its the regular zombies, run! but maybe its not and this is the problem? I'm pretty sure it is not the C25K one, I have just done the original C25K in the past and was expecting it to be a little more like that: tell me when to walk/run, begin with shorter/easier running periods, etc. Our story line started…
  • Just discovered the most delicious lunch yesterday! Mix 1/4 avacado with 1 Tbsp of cream cheese. Spread on toasted bread. Add sliced cucumbers then salt and pepper if desired. Top with some deli sliced turkey (or chicken maybe). Tomato would probably be a good addition too. I ate mine open faced and loved it so much that I…
