My understanding is that they actually dehydrate you so the loss is water. I have never had one but some people swear by them. If it is free, give it a try. Good Luck

My advice is to log your food before you eat it. It is the only way I can keep from going over my guidelines as I have had some huge eye openers on just how many calories some things have! If I enter it and the damage is too bad, I delete it and find something else to eat. As everyone else says "If you bite it, write it" !

I have felt the way that you do on the more commercial rigid diets because on those, if you mess up a little you have lost all of your hard work for the week. We have always used green peppers. I think the converted rice is just instant rice. Most rice brands have converted on the package. I never thought about it until you ask.

My daughter had the same issues as you and gained a lot of weight. Seems like it took abot four months to get out of her system but once it did, the weight came off pretty fast. Good Luck

Maybe if you show her how much more food she can have in regards to vegetable calories verses a potato or pasta calories, she will give it a try. I do both. Sometimes when I have not lost or lost only a little, when I measure again I have lost inches so I don't feel like I have been defeated.

The same thing happened to me in regards to the doctor not listening to me, pushing antidepressants and turned out to be my thyroid. Another doctor checked my thyroid thank goodness. Oh, I gained 45 pounds but so far, MFP is helping get it off.

Yes, you can lose weight without exercising. Some people have physical limitations and are not able to exercise. I have read where others started out very heavy making it hard to exercise and I person said they didn't exercise any during the first 50 pounds lost. I am not a big meat eater so to get enough protein I go with yogurt, cottage cheese, penut butter, eggs and skim milk. I think cheese has right much protein but I don't eat much cheese. This and do it now! I doubt it is a heart attack but what if it is? You can not stop a heart attack. It takes medication injections to stop a heart attack. I know - I have had a heart attack.

Not a big help here but a few things. I buy the 96/4% Ground Beef and pat out in 4 oz servings before freezing. Keep a jar of peanut butter close by. One tablespoon has about a hundred calories but it has good fat, protein and you don't have to eat much of it to get your calories up.

Fill in the calories by eating some Peanut Butter. 2 Table spoons have about 200 calories, good protein and good fat plus it taste so good!

Ha Ha - I am the chubby girl. I am aiming at 175. I would look like I had a sever eating disorder if I was to get to 130 pounds. Plus, I am older and confortable in a size 12 or 14.

Different people are on here for different reasons. I personally don't have a problem with an occasional splurge for an up coming holiday. I have seen that some folks on this site are using it to gain weight! Wish I had that problem.
