I have been dealing with it for five years. I do take a daily medication. I tried everything to just stop gaining weight and nothing worked. The doctors really were no help. I found this site Sept 1 and have lost 9 pounds. Good Luck

3500 calories equals one pound. If you five up 500 calories per day you can lose 1 pound a week. If you over eat 500 calories per day you can gain a pound a week. A pound of lean beef has less than 1000 calories so no way is your partner's theory correct.

Hi, Please get your thyroid checked. If you have a thyroid problem you will keep gaining weight no matter what you do - at least that's what happened to me. Now that I am on medication, MFP is working for me. Good Luck

Do you have access to a refrigerator or freezer in the homes? If so, maybe make up things like pots of chilli, soups even meals similar to tv dinners but lo cal versions and keep in the freezer. I have not tried this but a friend of mine has and she says it is very good. Take a chocolate cake mix, add one can of diet cola and bake per directions of the cake mix. Judging from your photo you are doing something right! If it works for you that is all that matters. My spoiled doggie wakes me up in the middle of the night to get a treat. Sometimes I treat myself a little. If I do, I just add it to my breakfast calories and it all works out.

I lost one pound my first week which is my goal. Mine differs from week to week. I think everyone does. Don't be disappointed no matter what the results.
