I'm a fan of Near East products. They have whole grain options too and the seasonings are already in there. There is a brown rice pilaf that is delish and they also have some couscous and quinoa options as well! :)

I'm always up for swapping motivation! You can absolutely conquer your weight loss goals - especially with the help of this site. Stay dedicated no matter what pitfalls come your way and feel free to add me! :)

I can't say no to another optimist on their weight loss journey! Let's be MFP buddies asap! :)
-
I totally agree that it has to come from within, but on the flipside I don't think that optimism and motivational "tactics" if you will are harmful at all in the process. And for some, (sometimes myself included) that extra oomph can really help! Ultimately though, you are totally right. MFP can be used as a support, but…

Holy weight loss! 60 lbs is fantastic! Congrats/Welcome Christina! This group/the MFP Community is a wonderful tool to hold you accountable and keep your head in the game if you have an "off" moment or just want to be around likeminded souls. Jennelle! Way to go, lady! Busting through the numbers like a champ and getting…

In general you're always going to get fluctuating numbers whether it's on MFP, HRM, or an exercise machine reading. I would definitely go w/ your HRM above anything else because hopefully it's an accurate model and it is basing it on specific inputs like gender, age, etc. For me I like to always calculate around 25% less…

Bahahaha this thread is too funny!

This is 100% what your focus should be on. Creating new habits will actually be the easiest part if you can identify what it is that has lead you to being an emotional eater. We could all be basic and just say, "I love food." which can be true too (haha), but ultimately it's a comfort and it's filling a void for something…

Great smile and the purple really compliments your skin tone! :)

And I reply to my reply.... No bueno if it's going to be going to or coming from a significant other. (Yes, it's the thought that counts... blah blah blah) But if it's just a gift card... there was no thought. It was literally pick up - buy - give. No thought. Haha. But as always, to each their own.
-
I agree with all of the above. Unless for some reason it's an addition to a thoughtful gift. Then it's just an added bonus. :)

I've had the 30DS DVD for years and it's still one of my faves! I would definitely suggest starting just with Level 1 for at least a few days (if not a full 10) if you're just starting out. Give your body time to adjust to the workout and build endurance. Just like Jillian says, when you're ready move on - go to Level 2…

I haven't read the whole post so I don't know if this is a repeat, but I had a substitute teacher in high school whose name was Reada Story. And the funniest part was she actually married into the last name. Haha.

Right there with you! I would say take a minute to recognize anything around you that's changed. Stress can trigger a drop in motivation a peak in cravings and so on. Try to tackle the real issues. It could also be you're not giving yourself enough fun food. And what I mean by that is... don't deprive yourself of flavor…

It depends on how you want to log it! I actually created a new exercise for myself that way I could go to My Workouts and easily pick it out every time I do the video. I used to guesstimate 150, but with an HRM I can burn as much as 300 depending on how intense I'm choosing to workout. If you don't have one I think it's…

I'm always a fan of people with a fun profile pic! You look like you don't take life too seriously and a blast of fun! And you're from Scotland... super cool. :)

Sounds like great accomplishments so far from BOTH of you ladies! Happy to hear it! For some positive feedback on this Holiday week, I really did stick to my plan and I enjoyed myself at the same time. Any places where I needed to fit in exercise/store extra calories I did. Thanksgiving I ate a normal breakfast, had a…

Any medication can effect weight loss unfortunately, especially antidepressants. However, it doesn't mean you can't and it doesn't mean you should give up on being healthy in the process of helping your mind! There are some you can research that are known to have less of an effect on weight gain, but they may not be the…

It depends on the day! Haha... some days are easier than others. Firstly, music, music, music! It makes a huge difference in how hard I can push myself. But for the most part, I remind myself mid-workout (when it's getting hard) it's mind over matter. If I tell myself I can... I can. So, I'll set mini-goals in the workout…

I agree with most everyone on here. The enjoyment you'll feel from eating right now will only last for minutes, but the enjoyment you'll feel from staying true to yourself and your goals will last forever. (I know it's cliche, but it's true!) Being happy in your own skin and being the healthiest version of yourself will…

Just like everyone is saying... take a second and realize that you're noticing your behavior. That in and of itself is the start to getting back on track. Not just making excuses and denying that you need to jump right back in. You're human! It happens, but I would say this time around try to dig for WHY you're going back…

I'm not 100% what you're asking, but in terms of your general Topic question a good gauge is your Body's Metabolic Rate or BMR - for everyone it's different based on age, gender, height and weight. Here's a general calculator: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ That number is what you generally burn doing…

Thank you Nikki! It is so awesome to see everyone's progression in the bootcamp and for others to see that in me! Things are not the peachiest for me right now, but I am swapping my mindset of getting bogged down and making no excuses (and it seemed to work out this week, thank goodness.) I think Thanksgiving/changing up…

Hi! I don't personally own the bodybugg or the body media fit, but I did do a lot of research on them! They are supposedly one of the most accurate calorie counter/HRM's on the market, but you also have to consider the monthly subscription. Most deals come w/ a 1 year free subscription and I did hear from one MFPer who has…

I totally know what it's like to want to get the EXACT answers to your "what if's" or "I heard" but honestly just getting your heart rate up in general, is going to help you lose weight. Yes, there are truths to interval training and it's always a great thing to be educated, but as long as your focused on calories…

Just an update for anyone who was reading.... I ordered it and I'm so excited! :)

Eeeek Thanksgiving... do I really have to talk about it?! Ooooh okay, I guess. So, Thanksgiving food is my FAVORITE! Just knowing that, it is going to be a difficult temptation for me. I'm going to be as mindful as possible and be sure to not make any excuses. Starting with... stuffing. Which is probably the most heavenly…

Hi all! I didn't sleep that well last night so it made me a littttle sluggish today, but since it's LCW I did Level 2 of the 30DS (which I altered a bit because I have a bad knee), but the important part is regardless of how much I was having "just one of those days" I did it anyway even if it wasn't my most intense…
