I'm not trying to build muscle, more so lean out and just lose weight overall. I lift a 35 pound 3 year old 24-7 and have some pretty good biceps from that too :) I ended up pulling a muscle in my thigh/groin and haven't been able to work out since last Friday and it's really bummed me out because I was on a roll. I'll try…

I try to eat breakfast everyday at home (usually something GF and higher in protein) and most dinners at home, except Friday and Saturday night. Lunch I do eat out....lower calorie items and lots of salads, but I'm sure the sodium is higher. But, I should also note that I have low pressure and I have had several doctors…

Ahh, thank you! You are correct, as soon as I slack on the exercise, I immediately drop 2-3 pounds. So, basically keep going because after several weeks I will start to see loss on the scale?

5'3 and currently weigh 147-148. That is a size 6 for me, sometimes a snug 4. I would love to be 125-128.
-
Yes, I'm exactly these stats as well. I know I look "fine", but there are a lot of cute outfits I would love to wear that I know would look better if I was stronger and a little less. I'm trying to work in cardio when I can, but I'm running out of hours during the day.

1200 is too low for me. I've tried it countless times and I sit hungry with a very loud growling stomach all day. Optimal weight loss for me happens around 1350-1420 calories. It's hard for me to even stay that low though most days. If you are working out as much as you say, I would aim for 1700-1800 calories a day because…

Wonderful post!!! Mental food issues are my worst enemy, so it's refreshing to see what works best for others!

I'm sure I'm not doing myself ANY favors by eating soups and salads out at lunch everyday bc even though they are low Calorie, I know they are loaded w sodium. Just thinking about not weighing myself for a few weeks does make me feel a little better---I'll try it and see if I notice any improvements.
-
Thank you! This happens to me alllll the time and the more emphasis I put on cutting something down, or thinking about what I'm eating, the more weight I gain in the end. It's so frustrating.
-
Thanks all!! Maybe cutting back on sodium and increasing water is essential for my weight loss journey. I typically get no more than 5 glasses of water a day...eek
-
Thank you. I'm so glad it's not just me. I hope to see some changes soon --not that I'm expecting them to happen overnight :)
-
This happens to me all the time...especially after working out in any type of way. It's so irritating to see the scale move that much (I'm 5'3 so 2-3 pounds for me is a lot) when you know it's probably not warranted.
-
I'm 5'3 and normally 144-145, but I have gotten up to 151 and even with light exercise, the scale is not budging. I know my thyroid is low, but not quite low enough to go on medication (thank goodness). I know I need to do little things better, like drink more water and get another hour of sleep a night, but ideally, I…

I feel like that all the time and I wish I knew how to curve the cravings, even right after I eat. Sometimes, it takes everything I have to leave the kitchen and go make my mind focus on something else. It's hard. It sounds silly, but I know realistically I have to let what I just ate digest. Sometimes I just feel like the…

Maybe---I do eat out more now that I'm working an hr away from home --something is happening and I hate the feeling of craving the bad stuff more than normal!!
-
That's supposed to say 150 mg not 158
-
I know that it's supposed to be weight neutral but right now I'm on 158 and I am just craving bad stuff all the time. To lose weight I usually have to stay under 1500 cal and to maintain and usually have to stay under 1750. I'm eating like 18 to 1900 about 4 to 5 days a week. Two weeks ago I just started it back on the…

Crazy! Now I have to figure out how to overcome it!
-
Kristen---eating out does get very expensive, no doubt! I have tried to cut back on it and *trying* to meal prep a little more. I didn't realize you were feeding 6 and not 4. :) That would def make a difference! Oh and I wish I liked to cook! :)
-
Wow that's so much a month to spend! I couldn't do that. I mean, I'll buy a lot of non GMO and organic/grass fed dairy and meat. I can see where buying good, grass fed, no steroids local meats can get very expensive! My friend gave me an amazing paleo crabcake recipe and just one little container of crab was $18. Ugh
-
Wow, thanks Tina! I will have to read this! Do you still purchase grass fed meats though? I'm willing to read up and research on produce, but I believe meats and dairy are something i'll never compromise on. It scares me for my kids! :)
-
I do (for the most part) shop the dirty dozen and clean 15 lists. I know raspberries are not mentioned, but I always buy them organic because our kids eat them out of the container sometimes before I can wash them. So, really, I dont save too much in that area. The items I spend the most on is dairy (organic milks and…

MyLittl--wow, I had no idea that was the allotment! I figured I was overspending. I feel like I live at the grocery store some weeks. Granted, if I stopped eating out a few times a week, I would feel better about how that $$ was being spent though i'm sure.

We are close! Add me if you would like!

thank you, I guessed it was more as well, but I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what the correct calorie burn would be. I wear a fitbit, but I don't think it has HRM capabilities.
-
I like my fitbit zip because it's the most accurate pedometer I've ever owned. However, you have to keep in mind that you can't outsmart it. Meaning, if it shows that you have burned 300 calories from your steps, that doesn't mean you should feel "ok" when you go over your calories by 300. I catch myself sometimes coming…

I'm focusing on eating clean a lot more this year. Feel free to add me for ideas/recipes!

This is me 100%. Of course, there's not really a quick fix. It's mental. That sounded bad, but you know what I mean. There's nothing or no one that can fix how your brain processes these types of things except yourself. It's very hard, especially when you take the time to preplan and try to do everything you feel is right.…

I use Designer Whey in smoothies and shakes. Its good and one of the "cleaner" protein powders. I also use a lot of PB2.
