  • Also about cholesterol, I have been borderline high (not high enough to freak out my doctors but they told me to be careful) for years. Since I have (mostly) cut out the junk food and have been eating much healthier and exercising, my cholesterol is now in a totally normal range despite the fact that I eat eggs waaaaay…
  • I eat them but I have a lhasa apso and now I'm curious... do you cook the yolks or feed it to your dog raw? Since he's small I'm thinking no more than one per week... but his coat could use some shine :)
  • Not everyone has the same goals, and not everyone has the same circumstances. Sometimes life just makes fast food more conveniant, as long as it's not all the time...
  • Hehe... today is my scheduled rest but I'm still going for a walk with the dog!
  • Sounds like he's having a party! I try not to judge people at the grocery store or whatever because I know that sometimes I don't get any fruits or veggies at all since I got them at the farmer's market earlier in the week. I'm also that girl who got a kit-kat from the vending machine at the gym after my workout because I…

  • Thanks! This makes a lot of sense to me, actually. I think that's mostly what I've been doing, but I think I might have put on a (little) muscle mass over the last 2 months, since I do body pump once a week and pilates (pilates builds muscles, right, since it uses body weight quite a bit with the planks), aquagym (a lot of…
  • Arguments aside, I think I've learned a bit from this thread. I honestly thought that I had been gaining muscle while eating at a deficit and doing mostly water calisthenics and a body pump class per week, spinning, step, pilates, and a bit of ripped in 30 when I can't make it to the gym (I try to hit each of those classes…
  • Chips (crisps) especially if they are onion and cheese flavored. Ben & Jerry's ice-cream or any ice-cream if I eat it out of the container. I'm better if I have a cone or a bowl served to me in someone else's home (and can't just go get more) Nuts. I have to portion them out and put the container away or I'll eat them all.…
  • If there are any aqua gym classes you can try those too, they are fun! In my gym it's a lot of older people, I'm guessing because it's really easy on the joints but I need that sometimes since I have weak knees, I try to not overdo it.
  • I don't understand not liking the yolks! I don't like the whites all that much, I eat them because they're there and they come with the yolks and they come in handy to make meringue and stuff but that's it. I love the yolks!
  • Where do you live that you get egged when jogging outside? And I can't see how being WITHOUT make-up could make someone look skanky. I understand wanting to wear makeup all the time (although I don't, only when I'm going out) but really if you're working out in a pool or gym, everyone else is working out too, not staring…
  • Thanks everyone! The instructor was actually really nice and helped me with form, it was the snarky comments from the woman next to me that hurt, and I guess the guy who said that to me when I was on my way to the jacuzzi had never tried the class and just thought it looked easy. I think I'll keep at it. If it hurts this…
  • I used to do that when I was trying to get pregnant because I had read that it was supposed to help. I did get pregnant that cycle but it didn't last. I don't care for it hot though, I do like it cold and most of the water I drink is cold lemon water now. I like the taste so it helps me get my daily water in :) I think…
  • Back a few years ago I ate at Subway 4 times per week, every week, for a whole year. I was a broke student without access to a kitchen. I maintained my weight that year, but I was at my lowest weight in my adult life. (110 pounds) I took a different meat sub every day, without a drink (I had my water bottle) and I always…

  • You look great! Good job on actually finishing it -- I always do about a week, get excited and start mixing it up with other workouts or joining a gym so I've never made it to level 2. I should one day.
  • I personally went with the expensive one close to home with a pool, hammam, sauna, cold bath, AND jacuzzi. I struggle with stress and I feel like it's the best way to motivate me to go in and workout because I can "reward" myself with something else than food, destress and really enjoy myself. So I made my choice mainly…
  • Do they? I encountered a dirty diaper left in the park just today. I always pick up my dog's poo unless I really can't for some reason, and in that case I make a mental note to come back for it. (like the time I realized at midnight that my husband had used the last bag in the packet and it started raining - I left it and…
  • I agree that it sounds hormonal. I often get this especially bad if I have recently changed BCP or stopped BCP and am readjusting to my own natural hormones. You mention this like it's something new so perhaps if there has been a recent change that could explain it. It tends to go away for me after about 3 cycles after a…
  • D i c k e n s - as in the great writer. Crazy censoring!
  • As I've matured I have learned to just like what I like and not be embarrassed. Yes, I listen to Ke$ha and Britney and I like them. I also listen to Christian music, to Bowie, to Queen, Lady Gaga, Oasis, Eminem, etc. If I like something I'll listen to it whether people think it's dumb or not. I don't like Pink Floyd and…
  • Haha honestly I think it's fine even if you have something not-so-good. It's really only once a month for a few days and if you're like me you feel like CRAP so whatever helps... I've been reading that exercise actually helps, which I wouldn't have suspected, I'm going to try it next time :) That way I can indulge in…
  • Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, in moderation, is actually really good for you. Just a couple of squares as a snack. The reason you crave them is because you need extra magnesium/iron which chocolate has. Plus it's yummy and boosts your mood which tends to be at a low during PMS/your period. So I vote: give in! A few…
  • I have one, and while it isn't perfectly accurate, I agree with you that it's a useful tool to get an idea of general trends as long as you always weigh yourself under similar conditions.
  • I brew mine myself from tea leaves and it's really good for you. My one concern is do NOT drink it at the same time or right before/after meals or your prenatal vitamins, because doing so won't allow your body to assimilate the iron. This is especially important for pregnant women.
  • I think you should probably ask your doctor if clomid is right for you -- how did you get pregnant the first 3 times? Have you been tested to see why this keeps happening to you? It may be time to go see a RE who will be able to test you and give you more answers. I know it's tough.
  • I like Ripped in 30 better because there is more variety in the exercises you do, and it's a more intense workout. I also think that the warmup is better.
  • At my gym swimsuits are required in all areas and there are seperate men & women saunas (same steamroom but you can hardly see through the steam anyway). So it cuts down on the awkwardness :)
  • Sodas and most other liquid calories. Also french fries at McDonalds, I don't think they are exceptionally good at all. If I go there at all now I take a burger, drink water and skip the fries. I feel like it helps and I still get my favorite part, the burger.
  • When I went to London last year I wasn't on a diet but I didn't watch what I ate at all -- in fact I ate as much "junk" as possible since France doesn't have as many options for fast food. However I walked everywhere, sometimes 5+ hours per day total with few stops, and in the end I didn't gain at all during that week. I…
