I wondered where you'd been Sassie! No worries, we'll be here when you get better. Bring IT isn't going anywhere but up! I hope those migraines go away so you're back to feeling yourself. Get well soon! Glad to see you again Happenstance! I didn't think we lost you but I noticed you hadn't been by. That's ok though…

The previous threads are up top for those wishing to go back and catch up. Since it's a new month and we've all been…

Mickie, I'm in layoff city right now. Big Yellow laid off 22K people over the past few months, and my city is definitely feeling it. I guess we can look at it positively (despite the obvious financial strains) and see that you now have EVEN MORE TIME to dedicate to yourself. And we all know it's needed sometimes. I'm sure…

I think falling off the wagon is ok...sometimes. Very rarely, because it reminds you how you never want to fall off again! You will hang on for dear life and be dragged behind, bouncing along, but you won't let go. Why? Because it becomes an endless cycle, like Kristie mentioned. You feel depressed and so you eat. And then…

Hello everyone, I just heard something great from Jillian Michaels that will make me think twice when I am about to give up for the day. "Compare eating something bad, like fried food or a few pieces of pizza to getting a flat tire. Will you make the rest of the day (week, month?) a "fell off the wagon" period? Are you…

While I can't answer all of your questions, I think that I might have a few answers/reasons behind his statements. 1-Calories in/calories out- More than likely, your trainer supports a diet higher in protein. Because the body does not have the ability to store proteins like it can store fat/carbohydrates, it is possible…

Ahh, no offense taken. Just telling it like it is...all the diet pills say "done with proper nutrition and exercise over blah blah weeks. Subjects have been renumerated." Well, if you were getting paid for this ad you'd probably bust *ss too right? If you have proper nutrition and exercise, there's no way you can't see…

Exercise during your period usually relieves the little aches and pains that come with your period...and gets your mind off of food. Cravings usually pass after about 10 minutes anyway so perhaps busying your hands until it passes will help. M

Stress makes cortisol stick around... As someone mentioned, we're always under stress of some kind. Eustress- good stress Distress-bad stress Acute stress-intense but passing Chronic-constant changes that the body cannot adapt to; puts hardship on body Chronic stress and cortisol can contribute to weight gain in the…

I love personal power and believe that almost everything in life is a choice...it's whether or not you do something about it. Thanks for the read.

Try proper nutrition and exercise.

Oh yeah...buy a bag of frozen berries and go to town! I love blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry mixes. They make protein shakes taste good too.

Hello everyone! I'd be willing to start a monthly thread...though at the rate we're going we'll probably need 2 per month:bigsmile:  How is everyone doing today? My exam went well today so now that it's over...Bringing IT tonight with KenpoX and TurboJam. Mya you have me doing 2 hours of cardio a day now too.…

StillKristi, Thanks for the compliments. I am pretty intense and not everyone can handle it right now, but I encourage people to stop by my thread because if nothing else, you'll feel inspired by the people bringing it everyday! I too, related YankeesGirls post with an addiction, and if you're trying to quit, you just…

I do P90X...and it emphasizes the muscle confusion with the different workouts but not the nutrition. The nutrition is a 3 phase plan designed to coincide with different phases of the 13 week program. I think that if you go to beachbody forums no one is recommending 3 days on, 1 day off on the eating. They're saying Bring…

Yeah, I just think Vitamin D from food and supplements is better than wrinkles and sunspots... The Vitamin D argument has been used a lot for sun exposure. People only need 5 minutes a day...and it can shine through the windows. I guess what I'm getting at is I'd rather get my feel-good (endorphins) from exercise than…

Not to get all technical on you but you can basically find a study that supports whatever you want it to support. It's called confirmation bias.

If you feel that bad...now you know not to do it again.

Well I'm glad I did my workout this morning before I went to class. Just had a late night studying. I was hoping to get another one in but I kept my calories pretty low today so I feel ok about it. I think I'm getting addicted to exercise though. When you start daydreaming about when you can run again or how hard your next…

I'm with ya on that one...I think tanning beds are gross. I'd rather get my Vitamin D from supplements and food... The wrinkles, sunspots, and underskin damage aren't worth it to me.

Just to keep everyone accountable to eating clean, I think we should all post a day or two of our menus and calories for the past few days...we've been posting our exercise. What do you all think? M

Focus on how you feel better about yourself. How you look forward to each day of treating your body well. How your clothes fit better and you feel more confident...think of weight loss as more of a side effect of taking care of yourself and doing something about it. Not staying the same but seeking continuous improvement…

I think Sweet is referring to posting progress pics every 30 days...yes we should!!!!!!!!!!!! Cardio Party 3 done...Kenpo X later tonight.

Hmm I never had sweet potatoes make me gassy. Though I don't eat them often at all, so maybe I just don't remember. Way to throw out your old bigger clothes. I'm a big advocate of getting rid of them so you don't have something to reach for should you relapse a bit....it motivates you to kick it into gear again! As far as…

There are lots of ways to get really good cardio without a treadmill...TurboJam, Hip Hop Abs, Ashtanga Yoga....and then when it warms up you can always go outside.

If you're talking about foods you entered yourself you can find the delete button in the top right corner....

It's possible that you are addicted to the sugar in a lot of junk food. You just have to learn to say no for a few weeks and after that you're cravings will most likely disappear. Don't have junk food in the house. That way you can't reach for it. Analyze your triggers that make you reach for junk. Avoid them. Surround…
