Thanks Tina will check that out!

Azdak I get what you're saying but I often do 15-20 minutes on an exercise bike before it gets too sore and this was just a half hour spin session so I didn't think it would be too much of a jump. I don't mind a bit of DOMS but bruises are not my idea of fun. Thanks Catjag, will try again once my legs go back to a normal…

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who had bruises. I've had pain while using an exercise bike before but never bruises like this. Will give it another couple of shots and hope it's not so bad next time. I've seen the padded shorts but they were quite expensive and I'm on a really tight budget at the moment, maybe I'll just…

We get loads of 'Mexican' food over here in restaurants, pubs and supermarkets. Most British people are happy to try anything new anyway, we're too polite to stick our noses up at something. Only thing I would say is don't bother giving them Indian food. We like to think of ourselves as curry experts and are often…

I usually mix my rice with a beaten egg, cherry tomatoes, cayenne pepper and some coriander or parsley. Beans or any green veg would work well with it too. I don't add any butter but sometimes use oil spray to stop the egg sticking to the pan

2 tbs low sodium soy sauce 1 tsp honey 1 cm grated ginger 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes Whisk it all together with a fork, it's so quick and tasty. I usually make stir fry with tofu which soaks up all the flavour of this sauce. I cut tofu into cubes, bake in the oven for 10 mins or so to dry it out then marinade in this sauce.…

It's great in soup too. Sorry the quantities are vague, I just tend to chuck stuff in the pot then taste it Bean and Tomato Soup - Serves 4-6 4 carrots - diced Veg stock Tin of mixed pulses (or make your own combo of beans) Tin of chopped tomatoes Bag of fresh spinach Red Pesto 1. Chop carrots and add to pot of hot veg…

It depends what they were eating before but yeah I can't imagine anyone seriously thinking pizza for breakfast is healthy! It's like the people who boast about going to the gym but you only ever see them on the recumbent bike at 0 resistance reading a magazine for half an hour...

Sounds like your shoes don't fit you properly. I don't know where you live but go to a proper store where the staff can advise you on how your shoes should fit, lace them up tight and wear good socks.

I get really hungry the next day too. I exercise after work so tend not to eat my exercise calories the same day as my dinner fills me up enough, so I save some of them for the next day. As long as you plan your meals and don't over do it the next day then it balances out ok over the week, MFP can show you your weekly…

Buy a running belt/waist pack but make sure it's soft material on the inside so it doesn't rub too much. You can buy large ones to carry water in but I just use a really small thin onejust for my ipod and house keys. As long as you pull the belt really tight it shouldn't move/bang.

I do this all the time, but hey it makes washing up that little bit easier!

I tend to bank exercise calories if I know I have a big night out coming up at the weekend. As long as my weekly calories even out then I've been fine doing this, but everyone is different.

If you're planning on getting it when you are at a maintenance level then maybe wait a month or two to see if you can stay roughly at the same weight for a while. I once got a tattoo on my hip and put a bit of weight on afterwards so the small details didn't heal as well as they should have done. It still looks ok from a…

I always save at least 100 calories for a bed time snack like hot chocolate with skimmed milk or a piece of toasted soda bread with a tiny bit of jam. I can't sleep if I'm hungry.

I would do squats, lunges etc on my running days and upper body and core strength training on the days in between. That way you are using a set of muscle groups while resting the others. Though it is a good idea to have at least one proper rest day a week when you do not much more than a bit of walking.
-
I always get really hungry a day or two after a really hard work out. So I tend not to eat all my exercise calories on the day I burn them but save them for a rest day, only if I feel like I need them though.

Nice one, thank you!

I've thought about signing up for these but did wonder about the calorie count and couldn't find anything detailing it on their website. Do you just have to estimate the calorie count or do they come with nutritional information?

What about a swiss ball work out? I have a dodgey shoulder too, probably not as bad as you, but find the swiss ball great for toning my core muscles. I do some press ups/planks with the ball supporting my legs and if my shoulder can't take it that day they I just roll further back on the ball to reduce the strain on my…

I do this when I go out to do my weekly shopping, I hardly notice the extra weight on my legs but definitely feel it in my bum the next day. Benefits of not having a car!

Sounds yum. Will try this with some cumin and chilli powder. Do they freeze ok as I would struggle to use 18 patties in a week but like to make things in batches?

Like other people I can only drink skim milk now, whole fat milk just tastes like cream to me. I also don't like white bread anymore, it has no flavour. Other day I thought I'd treat myself to some white bread french toast when I was out for brunch, after two bites I really regretted not getting the brown bread.

Sounds great! I love falafel but the carbs add up when it's with a pitta so I will definitely be trying these!

First of all congrats on your weight loss! Focus on being happy with yourself first, if you aren't happy with yourself then you'll never be completely happy with someone else. I had a string of bad boyfriends when my self esteem was low then one day I said enough is enough and refused to date anyone for a year and just…

My favourite is good old lentil soup, so easy to make and healthy (and cheap!). I'm vegetarian so I keep the soup simple but my mum cooks it with a big chunk of ham to add some flavour. Classic Lentil Soup - Serves 8 250g red lentils 1 large leek - chopped 800g carrots - grated or diced if you prefer it chunky 1 veg or ham…

Personally I find planning my meals reduces the temptation to binge. I try to do one big grocery shopping a week. I sit down for half an hour on a Sunday and plan my dinner for each night and plan my lunches to take to work and a few healthy snacks. I then write a list of all the things I need to buy and buy only those…

I would think carefully about a tummy tuck as it is surgery so carries a risk of infection as well as risks with the anesthetic. Just because lots of people get it doesn't mean there is no risk. Weigh up the risks with how much it really means to you, try tightening creams first but if you really want the surgery research…

That's why I said you still have to log the calories. Tea and coffee (and coke) contain caffeine which can have a diuretic effect. Some people argue that this can dehydrate you but others believe that the water taken in with tea just about balances out the diuretic effect. Everyone is affected by caffeine to a different…

This is a controversial subject but my belief is that it does count as water intake as long as you log the calories too. Everything gets mixed up in your stomach so it's the same as if you drank a glass of water at the same time as eating an orange. I understand why people don't count tea or coffee but I think discounting…
