  • Looks like a strong squad to me. There are one or two still out with injuries at the moment, like Corbesiero and Yarde who you might argue would get a place if they were fit, but in terms of the squad, and who is available to England at the moment, I think it looks strong. I agree on the Youngs front, I think he's having a…
  • I've recently invested in a turbo trainer so I can cycle inside on my bike when the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful! Honestly, a great bit of kit. Lets you get the best use out of your own bike, and with adjustable resistance, you can go as hard or as lightly as you like. I also love using the…
  • I've been building up my collection of Robert Welch knives. They're incredibly good, and I cant recommend them highly enough. I also have invested in a chinoise for passing my stock through, and a good stock pot to make decent sized batches of it. I've also recently invested in a slow cooker for casseroles and for porridge…
  • This. And usually, I work on a 1.5 portion basis when I log, just because restaurants love their butter in food!
  • Does your cinema do fresh popcorn though? Because honestly, mine don't, and it's just stale rubbish they bring out in huge plastic sealed bags. I'd do the same if it were a treat!!!
  • Absolutely fantastic post - really enjoyed it, and couldn't agree more. It was missing the term 'BOOM!' though.
  • I've not had quite the extremes of some on here, but yes, my weight yo yos a bit, especially at winter. I find it's down to a few things: 1) Exercise. The moment the spring comes, I'm back outside taking walks, gardening, and training for and playing touch rugby. When the winter kicks in, I stop all of this, and I get so…
  • Ah yes, the wonders of the commute into London, and long days - I do exactly the same. Remember, biltong from Savannah is your friend, if you, like me tend to grab a snack for the journey home!
  • Yep, feel free to add me as well: http://www.fitbit.com/user/25SRTT Thankfully today is (fingers crossed!) my last day on my antibiotics, so I can finally get back on the exercise bandwagon, and get my step count back up to where it should be!
  • 31 here - feel free to add me :)
  • Have any Brits on here found a good UK outlet for PB2?

  • I LOVE this thread. Love, love, love it. I go through Cider phases. When I'm being 'good' (as good as you can be when having a drink or two!) I always go for Cidre. It isn't the best, but it's nowhere near as bad as the earlier post made it out to be, and at only 150 cals is fine by me. When I'm not as fussed, I love Katy…
  • I bought these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Omron-BF511-Family-Composition-Monitor/dp/B0033AGBW0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389126815&sr=8-1&keywords=omron+scales I can't rate them highly enough. They have a memory program so multiple people can use them, and they remember your last results, so when you weigh in, you can…
  • Oh, and Good Luck! I've only done a few of the videos on Xbox One, but love it - think I'll get the set soon!
  • Go get a heart rate monitor. Estimates are all good and well, but my burn varies massively, dependant on whether I have a good session, a bad session, it drops as I get fitter and lighter, and I find all sorts of odd things will change how much I burn in a session. Honestly, get a HRM, doesn't have to be a really expensive…
  • I love making sweet potato wedges. Bit of olive oil rubbed in, and then I tend to coat them in a little bit of Cajun or jerk seasoning. Yummy,
  • Very interesting feedback guys, thanks for the input. I think my mind is largely made up not to go for any of the top of the range scales, I think I'd rather spend that money on either some PT sessions, or on some stuff for my bike to be honest! I wasn't looking at the fat %age as a golden measure, but I'm keen to look at…
  • I'm working my way through the second part of the third book of Game Of Thrones, and absolutely loving it. Think I will take a break after this and read something else, and then dive into the fourth book :)
  • I'm from the mighty Reading, and it's always good to have a few brits as friends, so feel free to add me :)
  • I'm Robin. I'm from the mighty town of Reading in England.
  • I can climb mountains by Hell Is For Heroes. Hard hitting song, always gets me pumped, and some great lyrics..... In particular, this verse gets me moving every time: Cos i can run, i can hide I can take a world of pain in a stride And i don't need fairy tales to pretend And i don't need heroes to depend on I can heal, i…
  • Squats and deadlifts are your friends here. You're probably getting to a point if you are using just your bodyweight where you cant progress any more without incorporating weights, or lifting heavier weights. Check out the New Rules of Lifting as a great place to start.
  • This. I'm just over half way through reading it, and learning so much. A fascinating book, and I cant wait to start seeing my progress as I learn to lift.
  • I tried them a few years ago, and stuck through for a month. Terrible, terrible things. They upset my stomach something terrible, and I constantly had the squits. Stay well clear of them.

  • Good work! Every small step helps! Keep it up, and before you know it, you'll be hitting a 5 miler!
  • That's awesome news! Keep up the work - it's amazing the difference hitting a landmark like that can make. Just keep it going. What's your next target?
  • I too think I want to get a tattoo, although what of, I don't know.....
  • Amazing work - well done sir!
  • I struggle with this as well. Whenever I go to the US, I love a trip to IHOP from some pancakes. I tend to refer to them as american or buttermilk pancakes. But thenagain, are they not called the Scotch Pancake? It's all too confusing. Tonight though, I'll be having Crepes. Yum yum.
  • Thank you - and thank you for fixing my first post!!
