I'm Evan; 51 y/o; 5'8"; 270 lbs. I retired from the Air Force in 2012 and gained about 90 lbs. Would like to lose that plus a little. I used MFP successfully in the past, but threw the progress away. I've been a "live to eat" kind of guy. Would like to train myself to be more "eat to live."

Jumping back on the MFP wagon. Hopefully I can stay on for the whole ride this time. It's now going to be a longer ride than the last few attempts since I've moved farther away from my goal weight (about 90 lbs to go). Here's to moving forward! Can't figure out how to add you as a friend. Friend me if you know how.

50 y/o getting back at it after several years of putting on weight (~80 lbs since retiring from the Air Force). Wish me luck!

Here is what has worked for me for shin splints: Before running, I get a good calf stretch During the day (I sit at a desk all day), I sit with my feet flat and tap my toes keeping my heels on the ground and bringing my toes up as far as I can. I do this throughout the day to strengthen the muscles along my shins.

I guess so :blushing:

FWIW: Intents and purposes is correct (http://www.word-detective.com/2009/01/intensive-purposes/). And it would be a "moot" point ((1) of no importance or (2) merely hypothetical) not "mute" ((1) refraining from making sound or (2) silent.) (http://grammarist.com/usage/moot-mute/)

THIS!!! I am a big fan of cilantro, so we use a bunch of cilantro, a few roma tomatoes and tomatillos, chopped onion, jalapenos, garlic, and the juice from half a lime. The lime helps it from turning color. Too much lime and then that's all you can taste. I like avocado mixed in chicken salad, tuna, or as a replacement…

In to read later--Awesome job and thanks for the motivation. I gained 40 lbs since retiring from the Air Force 2 years ago (I was 20 lbs over my ideal wieght then). I jumped back on the wagon this week because I don't want to buy a bigger fat clothes (among other reasons)! I had to buy a new belt last week.

I would open a home for homeless vets to help them get back on their feet with a job and a home Oh yeah--like most other folks have said, I would also pay off my debts and do something extravagant too
